Its impossible to compartmentalize art when the creators are literally producing fucked up content. You have to be willfully obtuse and ignore so much of their work because their values alllways seep through.

I hate that there is this culture of incompetence in management within companies. The lead guy is always terrible at his job, but because he's surrounded by yes men, all of his mistakes are absorbed and fixed and somehow the company hobbles along. My dad ran his company like this. Was given a PhD education on the job (the 70s were a much more opportunity rich time), and when he started his own company, he emotionally abused and bullied EVERYONE to get basic tasks done. Meanwhile he is consistent…

Wow my ex was into trying to Crack my knuckles before he gaslit me...he was assertive about it too...I kept my boundaries firm and eventually got him to stop but he was definitely testing me and enjoying fucking with my boundaries...after he gaslit me and I asserted my reality I honestly thought he was going to get violent, ive never seen him that angry before, clenching his fists, throwing a tantrum...wtf.

Facts. I love being discerning, but when a man is literally studying manipulation techniques online, it requires an education (prob equivalent to a bachelors imo) to be able to pick up on that.

I feel like if 90% of the men we've met have done a gross thing, its ok to round up and just assume all men for safety purposes. If men inflate the numerical measurement of their dicks, we can surely be generous with the number of male sexual predators, no?

In my pickme days I'd be like "this is a good case that people are inherently polyamorous" and now...well now I don't think that we should create entirely new sexualities to cover up men's inability to make rational decisions. Also I wanna vom knowing that men masturbate to pictures of women that are completely platonic in nature.

Look, I'm not a beautiful woman. I've gotten the pretty label at best. I have a big nose (that somehow suits my face??) and my features are angular and dark. No one hits on me, like ever (I also don't go out much lol). HOWEVER I will never crumble if someone doesn't like my look. I know that I have a plethora of redeeming qualities. I'm smart, kind, know how to dress well, creative...when I hear men talk like this, I immediately suspect that they aren't cultivating any good characteristics withi…

I don't refer to myself as childfree because that sub is so toxic. And definitely see how a man responds when you ask him about getting a vasectomy. My ex was initially reflecting and imitating my decision to not have kids. He said that he was going to get a vasectomy, for himself. He never did, and would change the subject when I asked him about it. By the end he asked this strange question to me, and I can only interpret it as him testing the waters if he could baby trap me. I'm starting to question the whole "I married my best friend" thing...like no, I don't marry friends because I don't have sex with friends, and the expectations and boundaries are quite different in friendships vs marriages. It feels that whole "marry your best friend" thing is to get women to lower their standards and allow men to seem ethical while breadcrumbing commitment.

Hey, the fact that you have awareness means that you're soon on your way to developing a more robust personality. I actually only realized this insight recently after having dinner with my family. I'd almost never talk growing up, because my family exclusively talks about objects and their relationship with those objects. Not a single emotion was expressed at that dinner table. So ease up on yourself if it was a part of your conditioning. Keep pursuing hobbies and topics that interest you. I've …

And be prepared for LVM to be fakers in this arena! The first year of my relationship with my ex, he would clean his apartment so well, and would cook wonderful meals. Then he let the mask slip and by year 3 I was cleaning up the kitchen table because it was piled high with old food containers and coffee grounds. I've had access to mental Healthcare for years and 90% of my coping tools and solutions were developed because I researched them. Therapy is the bare minimum for improving mental health, and if you really want to thrive you need to be working on yourself the other 6 days that you don't have therapy. I see so many men treating therapy like a vending machine, projecting all their improvement upon the labor of a therapist and its such a red flag.

I'd also add that it's important to be wary of men who only talk about STUFF and their relation to OBJECTS. My ex who was emotionally withholding would only parrot the philosophical ideas of weirdos on YouTube, and would only ever talk about the very surface level of situations, with a focus on the objective. He would Crack jokes about it, bit he still never discussed his feelings. He would become bristled and change the subject if I asked him how he felt. Sometimes he would feign an emotion, an…

I've noticed that to stay relevant in this current job market, you need exquisite social and networking skills. You have to have humility and constantly be working on extra skills and planning your next move. You have to be able to communicate to coworkers, and be respectful yet effective. I'm a big fan of cutting off men and then letting them figure it out, or a bit of survival of the fittest comes into play (men LOVE to use Darwins theory to be abusive, let them play by their own rules). Coddling bad perspectives and genes brings the rest of us down. As a woman, ive had to figure out my shit at every turn because I'm not coddled. And there are MANY women artists throughout time who produce incredible work, but who are given the cold shoulder because they are women. Yeah women are not fucking responsible for the depravity of men. He literally blamed women on the capitol riots?? No, fuck that guy. The capitol riots are the result of decades of economic and psychological exploitation of the working class, along with culty religious rhetoric and the men there are just extra gullible and fell for the cult rhetoric hook, line, and sinker.

When contextualizing WHY I projected positive qualities onto my ex, I actually rely upon what I've learned about cults and brainwashing. As we all know, the socialization of women runs deep. It's inescapable, it's omnipresent, and we can only work hard to unlearn the bullshit. Unfortunately, within our culture, we live in a toxic soup of brainwashing (aka socialization), and from that, our subconscious develops coping mechanisms that we aren't even aware of until shit hits the fan and we take th…

I recently found out that Pattie Boyd, George Harrison's first wife, had to leave him because of his series of infidelities (George even cheated on her with Ringo's wife!). Then Eric Clapton wooed her and she ended up marrying him, and then that marriage was an abusive shitshow. I can't find the details, but Pattie looks very very young in her pictures with George. I'm realizing that the driving force to my libido drying up after the first year in my relationships is because that's when the mask slips and men revert to their immaturity. Men behaving immaturely is an obvious turn off, but I was socialized to see immature male behavior as "endearing" so I didn't know how to make sense of why I didn't feel romantic around them.

I mean, is dying alone so bad? Men are more likely to die before women, and I'd much rather have my friends and family around when I go anyways. Also, I feel very content with myself and who I am as a person and generally don't fear death, because it's the ultimate self reflection and I know I've done well. I'm almost wondering if LVM's body preferences are invalid due to their general addiction to porn and rampant self-centeredness. Im seeing many more men "prefer" very very thin women, ive had some blatantly say that they prefer the anorexic look, which is disturbing to say the least. I agree. Arguing is such a futile exercise and I always end up way more upset than the other person. I've had guys try and egg me on, to try and get me to argue and I just never do. It's so much easier to just talk normally, and then assess if he's even willing to listen. You always hear the adage, "it's normal and healthy for couples to argue," and I just don't agree with that. From what I can distill from your post, it seems that men are trying to make the case that they are given unrealistic body expectations through gaming, which women experience as well. When I get down on myself for "attracting" shitty men into my life, I flip the script and ask "why didn't I reject them?" I feel that by guilting ourselves over "attracting the wrong men," which implies a lack of control and passivity on the woman's part, we are blaming the wrong person. Abuse is a verb!! I didn't mean to come off as victim blaming in my original comment, but just wondering how someone has the energy to coordinate such insanity. Why can't men be upfront and happy???

More importantly, you're exhausted from this friend. That is valid and worthy of consideration. It's very normal to walk away from friendships that don't share your values. Being HVW can lead to a lot of growing apart, simply because you want to grow and be happy. Many people do not wish to grow and improve. You aren't required to be around people who exhaust you, your time and energy is precious.

While I met my exes parents...they were very weird, and I wished that I asked him more about his beliefs, and how they compared and contrasted with their beliefs. They are very fundamentalist catholic, and because my ex refused to go to church, I just assumed that he rejected catholicism. Not true. He eventually revealed racist, sexist beliefs disguised as jokes. Make sure to (subtly) grill your partner on his family, and his relationship with them. It will reveal so much about his values. Long …

I've noticed that a lot of my "high standards" come from me experiencing the worst behavior, and me just simply stating that I don't want to experience that again. Low standards = low quality experiences. I don't see the redeemable aspects of a man who doesn't shower properly, there is no character arc where he will realize his disgusting ways when a woman teaches him about soap. I stg men think that they are protagonists in movies, they don't really understand that real life is not a movie😅

Ok but real talk...what are the warning signs that the man has another woman, when you LIVE with him?? I can see how it's easier for cheaters to hide their shit when living separate, but how, HOW does one get away with cheating while living with someone??

Reading the comments here, and I see that most men boil down the height preference thing as being out of their control. Meanwhile, they will do absolutely nothing to improve what is in their control. Either they truly believe that they are infallible, or are waiting for a woman to fix and improve everything that can be changed. They will fight to the end of their days to staunchly remain powerless in their life, dragging everyone down around them. Ew.

"Women's attention isn't a charity" Absolutely brilliant. We are socialized to be these moldable volunteers for all of men's desires, its crazy.

Good conversation is such a joy to me? Do men really hate pleasure and fun that much??

He will never take score and self reflect, pondering what he could improve upon to be a more desirable potential partner. Now I understand the prevalence of fish pics on dating sites...men are continually casting their reel of manipulation, hoping to get a bite from pickme women. Yet another case of men's actions speaking for their intentions!

My ex would say that im the funniest woman he knows. At the time I thought it was a compliment, but it was definitely a neg. He loved Louis CK and other weirdos, and here I am making jokes with layered nuance, subtle puns, and cultural references. I literally draw from art and culture, while male comedians rely upon shock value. I've been thinking about how male comedic values have been pushed in our faces for so long as being witty, when objectively they are not. I feel so bad for women comedia…

Its a great point to frame these low effort dates as luring...I remember as a kid being warned not to take candy from strangers, and now im realizing that such safety advice is valuable, as an adult.

The free pizza reminds me of the date I had with my ex, who invited me to his gym to use a free gym pass. When we found out that he couldn't use the offer, he paid for a day pass and I actually felt guilty bc he shared that he got fired😬 the coupon date is a deal breaker!!!

I personally think that frequent social media posting is strange. But I'd focus more on the content. Is he posting his meal of hot dogs and chips, complaining about his ex, or actually posting meaningful/funny stuff? I think with anything, moderation and finding that balance of social media usage is ideal.

Its interesting how he tried to frame his dream as some type of prophecy to try and control her. My ex once said that his friend had a dream that we would have a baby. He asked a few questions about my feelings about having a child when I'd already told him I don't want kids. Like he was trying to get me to come up with baby names...oof I think he was trying to baby trap me with that line😬

I've noticed that my anxiety makes my intuition very loud, to the point where I question it. For example I was about to meet up with a guy, and I kept thinking that he was going to murder me. Turns out he was awful in other ways, he never assaulted me, but my intuition was just being really really loud at the time. It makes sense. It's like my intuition was just trying to operate the best way it knew how because of my trauma. Tbh I think its more effective to view anxiety/intuition through a tra…

Selling the piece is performance art; a study of a queen asserting her boundaries and preferences while her LVM tries to manipulate her out of them. Bravo. So many incredibly shitty and abusive men have hidden behind the "its art" excuse for too long. The time for accountability is now.

There have been times in relationships with men and male friends, where they took me to weird places or walks that lasted way too long. Looking back, I think they were almost testing out to see if their fantasy of harming me would work out. I'm so thankful that nothing happened, but the vibes were way off in those situations.

The jock/nerd Mashup is truly the worst tho. Like they try so hard to work out and be huge, most likely take steroids, and then will prey on naiive women. They have the jock exterior but the nerd interior, its like the mysoginy is twice as strong!

I felt badly for my unemployed NVX, but when I got him a job reccomendation to a well paying job he got tattoos instead of getting me nice things for holidays. All that time I was feeling pity for him, I wasn't vetting properly.

I saw a tiktok where the woman was talking to a guy at a party, and he said that he preferred more curvy, plus sized women, but dated thin women bc his friends would make fun of him for dating a curvy woman. You literally cannot win. Oh and when I was hooking up with a guy once he stated that he imagined my boobs being bigger. They were DDDs...he was definitely negging because we had already shared nudes, but yeah big boobs and butt will never be a fast pass to attraction from men!!!

With a man like that, you never argue the facts, just look down on them, point out how cringey they are, and walk away and block.

Thoughtfulness is an indicator of empathy. So many men out there cannot conceptualize empathy, or choose not to practice empathy if their life depended on it.

They probably want the social status that comes from looking like a "family man." Women and children are just status symbols and objects to them.

I'm convinced that men don't value love or a relationship at all, and at times straight up hate the love that their partners give them. Love=weakness in their eyes.
