I'm no fan of The Young Turks show either (in particular, I find Cenk Uygur to not only have disagreeable political views but to be particularly anti-intellectual and pretty much a bullying jerk), but in this case, I think they pretty much hit the nail on the head... at least until the halfway point.

Isn't it sexist to have people sent onto the beaches of Normandy in tin cans to be mowed down by machinegun fire on the basis of gender? Isn't it sexist to be told that your emotional problems are non-issues and the only way to deal with them is to "man up"? Isn't it sexist to have the full weight of the system bearing down on you should you find yourself fighting off a charge of rape, sexual or other assault against another person on the basis of her gender and yours?

Well, thanks to the legal status of things, it just doesn't make sense at all to marry in the Western world. As the breadwinner, you take on all of the risk, and your SO can break things off at a moment's notice and take 50% of the stuff that you've worked for in life.

The quote doesn't make any sense at all. If "autonomous women making independent decisions about their lives should not expect men to finance their choice[s]", then surely men shouldn't be liable for 21 years of support for a decision that he had zero part in making.

I agree. As far as I am concerned, a date is a sort of test to see whether or not a relationship can exist. I don't see why one person should take on all of the risk because of his gender. On the other hand, if you want to buy someone a gift, you're certainly welcome to do so, and the receiver should be grateful and happy to receive it.

I agree. If anything, people in poor shape who work out are an inspiration, because they have the biggest obstacles and challenges ahead of them out of us all, and still they're doing what they can.

I agree that some women need to be knocked down by a few pegs (having a certain chromosomal makeup doesn't entitle anyone to anything such as being attractive to the other gender, having people go out of their way to help you, et cetera) but I think we all ought to admit that pornography is not really a great thing for men, let alone boys, to use on a regular basis. For me, pornography is a vice at best.

Looks like there was a bomb threat to the museum where this took place. The person who called in the threat said that the institution was racist. I absolutely condemn threatening violence against people with disgusting viewpoints. But it looks like he was right in his analysis of the situation.
