One of the things I had against RP ideology from the start is the idea of slipping your way around a woman's defenses and negative answers. Man, if she wants to give it up to one guy on the first date and make you wait three weeks for the same, that's her choice. But you as a man, don't have to sit there and take it. You're a man. A MAN. Get up and leave. We as men need to start respecting our time and self worth, and never associate the latter with women. Because deep down, RP guys do that too …

This is a classic example of certain modern feminists hijacking male-focused conversations and making it about them.

Yep. The directors are siblings, and both transitioned to sisters. The pill allegory is about their battle with gender dysphoria. Interesting how it became about something else entirely.

Privilege is a dangerous entity in the wrong hands. Academically, it's a source of furious debate and criticism, but too often it's used as a blanket buzzword to gloss over some of the more fundamental issues that we neglect due to the illusion of outrage. The rhetoric of more men seeking therapy is a welcome one, but I'm not so sure it should be enforced by others. Everyone fights their own battles and whatnot. Therapy, like any other voluntary institution should be a choice left down to the in…

Seems to be the only thing I'm good at. I don't think of it as a responsibility, or a burden, or as an act of a higher power. Just common courtesy and decency. A lot of that is lacking in the world and I know I can't fix it myself. But I'd rather try and do something to make a difference at least.

I can't remember where I read this- but the idea that if you're attracted to weak women, it's a reflection of who you are underneath because the root of that attraction is essentially power and control of said person, not love and cooperation. People's fascination with sexual kinks and the extensions they play out in real life is amusing to me. The dom/sub aspect of it obviously focuses more on the sexual thing, but the fact that certain men want to lord that same level of physical, animalistic …

It's even worse when it's tied to preexisting racial stereotypes. The character of Raj in The Big Bang Theory is one of the most poorly written and deeply racist caricatures of Indian men. And because of that show and how his character couldn't speak to women for half of it, a LOT of damage has been done to Indian men like me. Society urges each other not to judge women for casual sex which is fine, seeing as it's nobody's business but theirs (the women's). Why don't they show that same consider…

It could be, actually. There's certainly merit to that theory, and it's easier to shame men these days so so adds to the stigmatisation of single men.

People don't realise how genuinely sexist the mental health system/process is for men. The idea of victim blaming when we try to open up is fucking dumb horseshit. If a woman gets sexually harassed, the last thing she wants to hear is, "it's your fault for dressing that way." Or for exposing that part of the body, or for posing suggestively, or anything. Victim blaming doesn't help women in that scenario, how the fuck would it help men when we're trying to open up? Do these people not realise ho…

Now where did I say you said it was alpha male? This is a common mentality with some guys on this sub, I didn't specifically attribute or blame you entirely alone for it. Now where did I say "It's OK for women to use sex to enslave a man because you're a cunt?" All I said was I hate cheating and it's pathetic behaviour. How you looked at that and managed to polevault to the conclusion that you drew is a phenomenal leap. Maybe you should be in the Olympics representing your country instead of acc…

I never get the whole "cHeAtInG iS aLpHa mAlE" bullshit. That just makes you just as much of a fucking cunt as she would in the scenario of infidelity. That makes you scum that has no sense of self-control, self-respect, discipline or respect towards their partner and what they have. Which isn't very alpha...

Nothing, OP is absolutely spot on about that character. There's nothing problematic about the way he described her- if anything he just elongated a very simple explanation that she's poorly constructed as a character and suffers from consistently bad writing.

I meant women in general, gf or not. Look, if you don't want her to be joyless around you when you've got something good going on in your life, then focus on the girl you're dating and cut Flora off for the time being. Just tell her if she asks that you're just enjoying your dates with her.

Rape is a very dark time, my friend. If she can't be there for you because of that happening to you, then how does she deserve you? And honestly, it's time we left anti-male women behind. It's 2021, let's go find the sensible women who cherish, respect and value men.

I mean I get why she's upset about getting stereotyped for singing about relationships, but in all honesty, she's just as responsible for creating that stereotype about her. If she was more diverse in her subject matter, it would have gone away by now. And if she didn't have a knee jerk response for breakups to create an entire album dedicated to that repeatedly, again- it would have gone away by now. The way you're perceived is 50% you and 50% everybody else. You can't ask everyone to change wi…

See, you're at a more fortunate stage than I am- at 22, I'm still quite inexperienced, and so the desire for sex is as understandably almost pathological. But I can still be decisive and selective about this.

Not just crazy, you need to decide if she's worthy of the dick. Don't act like women don't do the same for us, fellas. She's probably made her mind quicker than you did. It's just that women are better at hiding.
/r/WhereAreAllTheGoodMen06/07/21 11:25 AM
39

Ohhh. I get you now. Tbh, for me I don't do sex on the first date because I would treat it as purely a litmus test to see if I actually like the woman and would be interested in spending more time with her. If anything doesn't happen in 5 dates, it's clear she's not interested and I move on. I don't say 3 excuse I don't want the girl to be pressured, but I say 5 because I don't want to waste my time.

Here's how I'm going about it: If it's my place, you don't get to tell me where to sleep. I'm the one paying the bills, I'm the one who makes the rules. You take the couch, or I can call you an Uber until you've calmed down and we can talk properly in the morning. If I'm at her place, then I'll leave. I don't need to ruin my sleep just because you're angry. That's selfish and narcisstic.

I don't think it was a conscious effort to change, I've always been a bit linguistic, and that's probably why. I can switch accents depending on which language I speak, when I was in secondary school, I spent 5 years learning French and German.

A lot of self reflection after a heartbreak, really. I spent one and a half years figuring myself out, looking at my weaknesses, tendencies that lead to getting hurt easily, then cutting them out. I shifted my focus to the idea of building a solid future, started being more selective of who I want to maintain company with, watched some YT channels for self esteem, kept reading books about self help and whatnot.

I'm a brown skinned South Indian living in the UK with verified citizenship for about 10 years now. I'm 22, and I've developed finally enough pride and self respect of my Indian heritage and my British upbringing. If someone has a problem with me being Indian, that's a fundamental problem with their mindset. There are currently almost 1.2 billion of us, and that's just the Indian population not counting the millions of immigrants and second generation citizens worldwide. Me being Indian and dark…

You can definitely change your accent. I was born in India, but moved to the UK when I was 1. I went back for one year and began speaking my native language, but also spoke English with an accent derivative of my region in the country. I came back at the end of Year 1/1st grade to the UK, and by the time I started Year 2, my Indian accent was gone and my British accent returned, and became the norm of how I speak.

I don't have decent pics for Tinder. I had my phone repaired recently and they did a factory reset on it. So any good pictures I had are gone, and thus I have to find excuses to get good ones. Pics are pretty much half the draw in Tinder, right? If I were to introspect, I could do much better on my pictures. I have no qualms on my appearance, but I've never had luck with Tinder before and looking back, shoddy pics didn't help.

I agree with all of these, but I'm also genuinely not ready. I have had problems with my body all year due to twisting my body due to poor weightlifting form. I'm not in any condition to even go for a jog in the park at the moment. I have to recover and only then can I live life again normally.

One of the ironies of being an Indian like me is that we have such a hush hush conservative attitude towards sex. And yet, our population is around 1.2 billion. How does that work exactly? I really think the MeToo movement was a reason as to why men being sexual is now a passive problem. Whilst I'm intrigued by the structure of power and privilege being a component in taking advantage of individuals, and relieved that demonic systems of aggression can be destroyed with enough noise from the average citizen- harassment and attraction are not mutually exclusive. The mark of a civilised human being is to draw the line between the two. Problem is the lines between what's acceptable an…

Having done some detective work, I can clearly say she likes you. Here's how: 1) She uses two different colours to enunciate her feelings for you. Black implies friendship, but red/pink is a much more passionate colour, often associated with romantic implications. Note the type of things she says to you in either colour. 2) She says "LOVE YOU" in capital letters, in RED. Any other time, she says you're her best friend, but even then it's in black. She once wrote it in red, but then wrote over it…

Honestly, you'd be surprised. Sign up for as many as you can, and see which ones interest you long term. Remember, the girls are not the endgame. But they can be an added bonus.

That's a bit alarming. I gave you a perfectly harmless response, why trade that for something else? :/

First off, I appreciate you taking initiative to put yourself out there- I know it's not easy but I'm glad you're trying and that's what gets you results. Libraries aren't really the meet cute scenarios you see in rom-coms. Girls don't usually take kindly to some random stranger interrupting their study for their number, so exercise your efforts in a healthier context by signing up to societies or clubs. You meet way more people, a good percentage of which will be girls. Start slow, build trust …

Ah. In that case, probably leave flirting out of it altogether. You need to build a quick sense of likeability about you, before trying that, so go with, "I enjoy using it often, it's nice to see it still works haha" Simple, straightforward and effective, imho.

Flirt with her just a little. Use my response, the worst that could happen, she doesn't get it or whatever. And if she doesn't respond kindly or the way you wished, it's fine. Her choice, but her loss too. 👍

Did you just start talking to her today, or has this been going on for a few days now?

How long have you been speaking to her recently?

This is what I'd personally follow up with, because it's being casually confident about the fact that you're funny whilst not downplaying or overplaying it. You're showing her with that reply that not only you're funny, but you can respond with wit. Chicks like wit. But again, this is just one guys advice. If you want to wait a bit longer to see if there's a better response, feel free to do so.

"I didn't know you had good taste in guys either, you're talking to me and that's a sign."

Ahh. Well in that case, you have reason to doubt. You shouldn't really try to control anyone's actions other than your own. If she loves you, she will stay by you. If not... Well, forgive me for saying this, but the trash will take itself out.

If I had one, I would for sure. What she would do on a night is on her, to make any choices. Unless she was in any trouble or hurt, I'd expect her to take full responsibility for what she does.

Your brain essentially spends more time trying to impress said woman rather than maintaining the sanity of your natural self.

I'm not using the usual how was your day crap either, and want to genuinely get her into talking to me. Like spark a rapport, mutual interest. Any tips would be useful.

I see where you're coming from. Two weeks ago, as an Indian dude, I met a white girl at the club, long story cut short, she was upset, I told her to come inside at least so that she doesn't get drenched in the rain, we go in, next thing you know she's biting my tongue off making out with me and making me cup her boobs. Heck, in February, I lost my virginity to another white girl I met at the club. And it's not that I'm against women of my race, it's just the Indian women on campus that I've pers…

She wasn't ready or looking for anything beyond friendship, I accepted that, we're still friends. Same old, same old. :P

Sexual interest wasn't on my mind for tomorrow, I just want to make her see me as a trustworthy, compassionate human being who she'd love to spend time with again. Thank you, sir! 🤙🤙
