Do people still have long lasting happy marriageUgh. I am reading all of these answers and it’s so depressing. My parents have an amazing marriage. They’ve been through hell and are still able to laugh and have a good time. I thought I was going to be like them. They’re lucky I guess. I want a family. I want to find someone, get married and build a life with him. I just had a series of tragic events all happen within less than a year and a half, right after COVID. Now being left is the latest thing. I see how I was wrong and what I did wrong.… | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/22 09:29 PM
Do people still have long lasting happy marriageMy parents have been together for 34 years (or close to it) and are happily married. What I mean by happily is that they’re a team and they’re a strong couple. There’s no such thing as constant happiness, but they’ve always been there for each other, despite all of these horrible things happening to them - a sick kid, kids with LDs, cancer, etc. They have always been there for each other and love each other so much. I grew up around loving parents with a healthy marriage. So, I expected my marri… | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/22 09:19 PM
Divorced then back together? That’s separation. Divorce couples reconciling and remarry is 6% but the chances of that marriage leading to divorced is like 30% | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/22 08:25 PM
Divorced then back together? If it’s to someone else, if a couple who got divorced remarried each other (6% chance) it’s the highest success rate out of all marriages, I think 70 something % of divorced couples who remarry each other stay married. They don’t get divorced again. 2nd marriages to different people have an even higher chance. But those small group of divorced couples who are crazy enough remarry each other end up having the lowest divorce rate, even lower than first marriages. Nuts, huh? I know it’s really path… | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/22 08:23 PM
New guy.I’d meet him casually without looking like you are that concerned. Perhaps be chummy with him, if possible. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Anecdote any weird behavior. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/11/22 03:16 AM
Divorcing at 37, wife cheated any suggestions on how to move on?I hope so. I feel like if I put my foot down earlier in the marriage about certain things, I wouldn’t be getting divorced. But I had several horrible things occurring in my life that I was in a weak place. I took the “for better and for worse” part seriously. I can’t believe how quickly people are to throw away their vows. My STBXH lowered their meaning and value. Now they’re a bunch of words you say - I kept mine and was planning on it. He’s 35 going on 25. I went out with my cousin and we got … | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/11/22 07:14 AM
Divorcing at 37, wife cheated any suggestions on how to move on?I decided at the age of 26 that “I chase buses, not men.” Good for you. Divorce is SO bad. But cheating is unforgivable. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/11/22 01:37 AM
Second Marriage?I think the reason why it’s set up that way it’s a deterrent to get divorced. I think some people (not all) think getting divorced is the easy way out instead of doing the work. I’m talking about millennials. We are so immature. It’s absurd. I’m thankful that I can do this all remotely and never have to see my STBXH ever again! The last time we saw each other, he dropped me off at work, knowing he was leaving me with all of his stuff packed up for his Ibiza trip, and I had no idea. I just kissed… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/11/22 06:41 PM
Second Marriage?Women don’t do it to take advantage of men. There are benefits to marriage. My parents have been happily married for 36 years. I think millennials treat marriage like it’s a relationship with a contract. People have said “you don’t have kids or property, so divorce is basically a break up with a lot of paperwork.” I get so angry every time I hear that. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/10/22 10:11 AM
Second Marriage?I still think marriage is a wonderful thing, even though it didn’t work out for me. Maybe it’s because I’m a woman, but there’s this amazing feeling to have happy times in a marriage - they’re more special than just with a BF. I’m going through a divorce now and it’s absolute agony. I wonder and am thinking like many other people - the stats are against us and it’s not exciting anymore. I’m surprised that you are even able to date again. I would go to couple’s counseling - now. I wish we did pre… | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/10/22 10:07 AM
