Very well said. I just decided to drop someone whom I'd shown interest in, but thought she was just trying to string me along with some breadcrumbs. Wish her all the best, but I'm off

(male here) I face similar problem due to a different reason, i am slightly shy/introverted by nature, so find it difficult to just approach or speak with a stranger in a bar. When i look back, what seemed to work for me was parties with friends, small social gatherings. I met some nice women here and as people are already together due to common connections or shared interests, having a conversation is easier, there is no initial awkwardness. Additionally everyone has had some time to get a sens…

I'd once read a very interesting reply to this line - there are very few buses that take you home, don't miss them. But yes do agree, if someone is not showing equal interest in you, smarter thing is to move on.

My 2 cents When starting, should perhaps be something topical/connected to where you are. E.g. If you are at a party, can ask how she knows the host. If at speed dating event, can be something like, so what kind of a guy are you looking for Much more important is listening, a mostly missed aspect. Honesty in interaction and follow up questions. Share some of your thoughts or what interests you as well Otherwise otherwise she may feel more like an interrogation or that you are not connecting. Gen…

I would have probably said something like, 'wow i never looked at it that way'. Follow up questions could have been 'so how long have you been into it', 'tell me more', 'are there any particular forms you enjoy more'

Thanks. Interesting. I'm a very warm and caring person, much more than regular guys, something I've been repeatedly told. Guess a stranger does not know that, and I've to get out of my shyness. Think I'm more apprehensive that the other party may feel odd or offended if a stranger is smiling at them without any reason

Just wanted to compliment and thank both of you on the thoughts shared. I found them sensible and could relate to them as well. This exchange was more meaningful than the general Tinder fuelled go get her advice (which is mostly shallow). All the best

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
