Why do you think this is? Like what about our world aligns to make this so common? I’m so sorry it happened to you.

If he’s really so great, but not for you — he deserves to be with someone who loves him. Just as you deserve to be with someone who’s crazy in love with you.

Richard Armitage. Also the character he plays in North & South. And the character he plays on Vicar of Dibley.

Actually, I love Steve Martin. My god. No idea why (and I’m much much too young to find him attractive) but he just does it for me 100%. But I’ve always found self confidence super attractive in men.

I have literally always made the first move. No idea why more women don’t do this.

Omg that’s honestly so disgusting. Glad you didn’t go for that.

I’ve exclusively dated tall & attractive men. And I’ve found that they have their shit together and are in general nicer & more confident. Physical traits make a difference in how people feel about themselves, and self respect is essential to being a HVM. My friends who like you are more welcoming of “weird” guys and short guys have lifetimes of heartbreak or just have to constantly validate their insecure man, all day every day. My advice: Set your standards waaaay higher and see what happens.

Not exactly true, there’s a whole class system of old money vs new money and appearance choices are very intentional and very different.

Old money families don’t want women who are “high maintenance” looks wise. Natural Beauty type looks are prized here. They may get work done, but it’s subtle. They value connections, education, heritage, and a healthy portfolio. They don’t have to prove anything to anyone and value their privacy. So think of what British royals look like vs British party girls & celebs. New Money families are all about “high maintenance” appearance wise. They want to signal what they’ve achieved and go to great …

Admit to yourself that you probably do have daddy issues and get ahead of the problem by going to therapy. Daddy Issues are usually a shortcut way of saying “low self esteem”. Do you respect yourself the way you deserve? What does your inner voice say about you? Anything you could work on there? I say all this with kindness and as a woman in therapy, myself.

I agree that this is pathetic and sad. But also scary. Be serious and safe. ❤️

There’s a golden parachute if I’ve ever heard of one. Having access to funding ALL the upper education and access to getting accepted and trying again and again. Now as a film producer — he might actually succeed here since it’s an industry where all people have their own heads up their ass.

Makes me think of Germaine Oger from Vancouver — got a minor elected position and is using it to bully women and shut down rape victim shelters.

Perhaps that’s true, and depends on context — but in my experience anyone that talks a lot of Big Talk is trying to compensate for being average or worse. The difference is whether he’s talking about You and wanting You, or whether he’s talking about Himself and His Dick & His Skills.

Congrats! My own beliefs are that after a month, you should be able to have the “are we exclusive or not...?” convo. And if that doesn’t turn into Gf + Bf official conversation, you and he should be able to have that conversation by about 3 months. If not, then ask, “ok so what is it you want? What does your ideal relationship look like?” Then you can make your own decisions.
