You should meet some valuable people on your path, if you didn't - maybe you aren't as good as you think? I was best in my shitty group so I've changed groups. Moved out, took better job, and met better people. Now I'm on my way up to catch them and I have their backs. Successful people are always helping other ambitious people and are friendly to them, because, as OP said - there aren't many successful people. And we are social creatures, it's nice to have someone around.

Well, I'm in my mid 20 looking like a teenager (good genes?) and even if I have many girls around they don't always take me serious cuz of my face - no facial hair etc. Ofc I have no problems with girls like 18 y.o. but 25+ is out of range (oldest i was with was 26 but she also wasn't looking). As much as I like OP thoughts this one is actually gold. There's nothing man can do when girl feels attraction to other guy, he doesn't have to be any better, he can be actually some handsome, charming loser but at this moment she will switch with no regrets. Regrets may come later, when she will find out he is much worse, but then it's too late. True, it was eye opener for me too. My longest LTR with, i thought, good girl ended miserably after she started acting crazy and it was time i realized i don't need a girl to be happy. LTR's are expensive and there's alot of time wasted for someone who is there only temporary. I was in 7 relationships so far, only one longer than 1 year, but I have nothing from them except important lessons about what girls truly are. They can't love us forever, it's just our turn.
