Half of my friends are female, some of them are engineers and doctors, never heard anyone say that. And even in your example, that's called emphasis. Ironic, although, that your reference for this phenomenon is on reddit, and you then suppose that I don't have any women in my close friends.

You say that as if going out and finding a real one isn't their goal, and as if it's a sure thing. Some people are ugly, some people are introverts. Do they not deserve to feel at least a simulacrum of human warmth because they can't get a gf ? If they're ready to pay for it, then there's a market for it.

It ends with "If you actively encouraged the person to take his own life, you participated in his death." kinda like Hitler being bad even though he probably never killed anyone by his own hand, but he commanded it. I don't know about the US, but in France, there's a crime called "Not helping someone in danger" which is punishable by law. It's very well defined, despite seemingly being a slippery slope.
