1) What's your overall opinion on the four waves of feminism, especially modern feminism? Not found of it in the sens where the hypothesis of the patriarchy put the blame of women on it (okay with this) but put also the blame of men's issue on it. In a way it is framing the men's issues as a byproduct of how women are poorly treated. It means that whatever the issue is, the women are the primary victim (see Hillary Clinton once said that "women have always been the primary victims of war.") It h…

Telling is different from doing. "Dont listen at what people say but watch their actions" It is the case for men and women.

That is exactly how it feels. "You are not benefiting me? You toxic" That looks like to what an abuser would do.

That is the equivalent of an ad hominem.....not valide. Attack the idea not the people ;)

They only become negative when the man in question is unable to adhere to them in a respectful, productive, and composed way Yeah basicaly when the traits are expressed in a way it does not benefit women or children (because when it harms other men it is less important) It is like giving a gun to someone to protect you (incentive to violence) and then complaining this persone missused this gun....

Nothing is justified, she just dump him if he cheat that all. " Poisoning" someone and making him potentialy fired is passive agressive. If the sex were reversed i would have said the same....

..and that is toxic masculinity, Which is used by........? No men say this. And not only women but also feminist or at least a significant statistical sample of self ptoclaimed feminist.... I agree with your point about the sexual practice. I am from France and yes it seen as weird. For oral sex, no i had not this problem but it is anecdotal evidence. Violence is necessary to protect. It still doesn't mean we should encourage it. It should be encourage if it is channeled to the right target. How…

No one thinks it is women and children first because men are evil. Maybe men are just seen less valuable then. It is so easy to frame how men are treated as a byptoduct of women misstreatment. It is not that men are seen as stronger. They are just seen as less valuable. How do you explain the boko haram case? You know where boys and girl have been kidnapped. The boys have been burnt alive and the girl released then another kidnapping. "Bring our girls back" is something that made a lot of echo o…

The problem with this way of framing is we could take it and reverse it. Women are treated better because men are seen as evil and moraly depraved (not because women are seen as weak). See it works too and is documented as the woman are wonderfull effect. They talk about male "victimhood" as if men could not be victim of a systemic oppression or even simply have issues. If conscription is not systemic, i dont know what is. Their is a use of label word (incels associated with all ppl against sex …

Don't be emotional This quality is necessary in lot of situation Being emotional is made fun off by men and women who lose most of the time their attraction Remeber male tear? Masculinity so fragile? number of sexual partners shows how masculine you are Yes and lot of women i saw, shame men for being incels. I have seen more women doing it than men actually. But i agree it does not define masculinity. , real men don't seek help, " Maybe because no one give a damn bout men. How many men seeking h…

For example, not all women are "secondary workers" (within families), but they would get the same tax cuts by proving that they are women Yeah that is exactly what i thought! I agree with the rest too XD

Find something you want to improve your skill or a project and go for it. During the first lockdown i was doing some research to write and organise my thought on a specific topic. I was busy all day If she say something that piss you off, stay silent and do whatever you were planning to do. Arguing with your mother doesn't work because even if you are right she is your mother and have the "authority" of such. Plus it waste your energy.

Wait whot? A gender tax is perfectly okay when it benefits women? I dont even imagine the outrage if the scenario was flipped. Even with a fake gender specific tax (pink tax does not controle for the quality of the stuff) women were outraged and in France there were even offical document about gender equality on it......
/r/MensRights14/12/20 01:32 PM

The preference is not the problem, the double standard about it is. Aka women are allowed to have standard and outraged when men have.

No the aticle headline and picture are not biased at all cough cough cough .... If they wanted to make men appear as dumb, they could at least not take the reader for a retard... Anyway, the post is too true, studies should be done to assess the number of positive of negative publication about women and compare it to the ones for men. Only to confirm what we already know

I'd say that toxic masculinity is beliefs about masculinity that shape men's behavior and attitude in a way that harms them and other people Okay cite what are theses caracteristics to start a discussion

Well yes men are better off financialy than women after divorce on the income level but not on assets where it is 50/50. But it is a tricky way to calcul the income that bias the result. Lets say she is an sahm. Lets say the man earn 5000 $ a month. The woman average income lets say it is the sum divided by two so 2500$. Meaning the man real average income is 2500 $ (or we could suppose that the man income and woman average income are 5000 $ per month supposing all the decision being joint) Now …

depending on where you live but hopefully very soon everywhere that does not say if you considere these people as true feminist or not, which was my question okay so i would have say more egalitarian but why not. Let's assume it for the sake of the argument. i believe the midea doesnt let actual feminists succeed as most famous "feminists" do not follow my guidelines there are probably some but i cannot think of anyone What do you conclude from 3) then? Can we say there is any true feminist amon…

Not a big deal. Basicaly i asked four questions : 1) Are people doing the policies, funding, laws and official documents about gender equality true feminist iyo? 2) What is a true feminist in your opinion. 3) What is an exemple of true feminist according to you 4) What are the social impact of these true feminist.
/r/MensRights13/12/20 06:54 PM
2

Okay at least you are honest and polite. My bad for the angry answer. So i will reiterate my quetions. Are the one making the policies, law, funding and official documents not real feminist when these policies are about gender equality? in your opinion, what is a true feminist and who represent well an exemple of true feminist; what impact these people have on the social issues beside being on sociale media (without spreading lot of information etc)
/r/MensRights13/12/20 06:46 PM
14

Well if they tell you that, answer that it is a stereotype where the women are seen with hypoagencey. So saying that women do this due to men (patriarchy) is actualy striping women from their agencey hence enforcing the gender norm (you can troll here) hence reenforcing the patriarchy.

So Mary Koss is not a feminist, The one fighting against the joint custody were not true feminist, The one changing the law, making the the policies are not the true feminist, The one making official document on the matter of gender equality are not the true feminist The media spreading information about the wage gap myth is not the point of view of many true feminist. Explain me what is a true feminist and who are the true feminist if it is not all the above and what impact do they have on poli…

.... Pointing out the the fact that : feminist fight against the joint custody use double standard on the policies to only show women as victim; for exemple of partner abuse and men as abuser in violence prevention campain, the shelter and for all the other issues where men lag behind (education, work fatalities, homelessness, etc) the indicator of gender equality in official rapport about gender equality, that does not take into account when women have better situation than men The wage gap myth…

It is describe as perverted (going for younger women) so it lower by force the men's standards so it increase the leverage women have with sex. Ie women over 30-40 want the sexual leverage of 20's women so they have to lower the male standards. It is a large scale shit test don't fall for it and whatever they say (unless it has legal impact or it harm your reputation) assume your preference and sexuality. You are said to be a perv for going for young women? Just trash talk them saying they are j…

Yeah saying gender norm expectation put the blame on the norm, and everybody. I know there are some nuance but still it is better imo as it cant be use ad hominen because the Maletears, malefragility etc etc seem to put more blame on the gender than the behavior itself and the one enforcing the norm. Btw how would you desctibe toxic masculinity. Because all (or almost all) behavior in exces are toxic. How would it be enforced?

It is a good point too. If you seem less vulnerable you wont be taken advantage of and if it happen, you can escape with minimal injuries. Everyone should strive to become stronger but not being forced to

I understand your point. historically, women were treated as subpar to men, I agree however it is more because of toxic gender norm. Indeed women were assume to have hypoagency and men hyperagency. So while women were little "things" to protect, with poor freedom, men had more freedom but almost whatever happen it was his responsability and ppl had no compassion for them and their live had little value too. We could say that gender norm are misogynistic and misandristic at the same time weither …

I agree and in the comment sadly i have seen only one which said that men space have been "dissolved" or said to be toxic due to the communication style in it (often trash talk etc) even if in the external thing it can be seen as violent but when you know it, you know it is supportive

While i agree with all what you said in the idea: The the term toxic masculinity always make me cringe. Why not saying toxic gender roles/expectaction? I say this because i hear a lot about internalized misogyny which harm women too and are a part of the problem but could be labeled as toxic femininity or even better toxic gender expectation/roles . Why gendering the issue of gender role expectation, shifting the blame only on men and not on society at large? As a lot of people say, words matter…

Where they are seen as worse leaders and less commanding. Thats one of the reasons they are less represented in upper level management. Meta analysis and some large sample studies would contradict you on this point

It is even the case for other trait like lying about the carrer, statut etc even if half of the population can enhanve their look with make up. Men are not allowed to fake any qualities or it will have a big backlash. It is like as if women wearing make up to enhnance their attractiveness dont want to be scam on the product while being a con artist at the same time.

There are three factors imo 1) Women tend to be indirectly aggressive so i is harder to have evidence so to convict them. More over these behavior is less punished if it is, by the law. 2) Men and women are a little different on aggression scale in the mean score, about the same in the standard deviation, but the small difference in average has a lot of impact for the extrem behavior. So for exemple assaulting somebody will be mostly represented by men because this behavior is high in violence h…

Women are about as violent as men but do not use the physical force. They use indirect ways Gender differences in aggressive behavior do exist. In proportions of their total aggression scores, boys and girls are verbally about equally aggressive, while boys are more physically and girls more indirectly aggressive [5]. In regard to total aggression scores, boys are generally more aggressive than girls; according the meta-analysis by Card et al. [9], they show, in raw scores, practically as much…
