Men are more socialized to violence in general and so are more likely to choose violent and therefore more effective means. Not to mention they have more exposure, acceptance, and access to these means. I do and spent a lot of time considering whether that link is valid and why, including studying the roles conditioning and exposure play. Not to mention men have greater access to weapons and are encouraged to know how to use them. He admitted it was selfish but I wanted to give him time to work through his shit and make up his mind in a safe place. Supposedly him and his wife stop taking each other for granted after that.
