Exactly, it's a situation ripe for exploitation - OP will give him her body and he is under no obligation to commit long term, most guys will snap that up

What will you do? I'm a guy and mirror your background but also being in relationships where I become the football to be kicked around. I'm in the top decile for most things in life but I never, ever feel it or see it. So I guess I'm telling you as much as me is that you have to fake your value, your pricetag - because others are sure as hell will go on the ticket rather than the actual fabric or innards of the product..

So I think you're both dancing a dance together whereby he's diminishing you and abusing you subtly and overtly in myriad ways and you're contributing and enabling this given your financial and emotional desperation. I can't speak for him as it's very nebulous but I think you still love him. That said you've given him too much power and most organisms not just men or women will abuse that generosity. This will seep into things like rejecting sex and not wanting to treat you well because you've p…

1000000%, those things keep the bond strong through thick and thin. There'll be chunks of time when you don't sleep together or may even hate each other but you come back and reunite over more foundational things

Looks fade and money fades - over time naturally character and values remain, or lack thereof becomes apparent. Don't invest in people wholly based on looks or finances, they could change in a heartbeat

Get help, don't act on the thoughts to the best of your ability, don't make your partner the enemy, journa your ideas, take breaks from him throughout the day/week even if you don't want to - trust me, this can ruin relationships

LDRs are horrendous for insecure or anxious attachment - are you in a relationship now? What do you recommend generally for those with anxious attachment?

Unless he takes more initiative and shows more drive himself independently, so if it comes from you prompting him, it won't be/feel more masculine than it is now - as you've had to instigate it

While he could behave seemingly much more maturely and securely - these sound like protest behaviours. Behaviours we can all exhibit when we feel threatened or that our emotional needs are not met - it is on him to express these more clearly and maturely to you so you can deal with them. Nothing precludes you however from broaching this subject with him with empathy - it takes two to tango, so to speak - this is coming from someone who's behaved like your boyfriend so take it as sound advice lol…

Double-edged sword, therapy can create a victim mindset and actually move you away from being productive, masculine and confident and into past trauma. As a mental health professional I do not dismiss it at all and it surely saves lives around the world. However it is not a panacea and heading into it with some emotional intelligence is a must

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
