Because traits that are beneficial in some situations are detrimental in others. Take, for example, sickle cell Anemia. A double dose of the gene slowly kills you, but a single dose makes you immune to malaria. A gene for obesity in the US may be detrimental, but if you are a central Asian steppe dweller, the tendency to keep extra fat on your body suddenly seems worth it. The concept of the 'unknowable feminine' is a common one in feminist literature, especially from the more mystic branches of the movement that arose in the early seventies. 5	Crazy girl won't let go of guy's shirt on subway after she mistakes him as someone else. Even though he is being attacked and harassed, the conductor and other men tell him not to defend himself. I can only assume you are female. If you are a guy, it doesnt matter how much evidence there is that you behaved.
