Probably bet his family's savings on the Bengals winning. That's how his life is ruined.

No problem! I misunderstood! He was a little weirdly lovebomby at first and I shied away, but it so transpired that he knew I was "the one" almost immediately, or so he says. He's been fantastic with no red flags and face value for 12 years (10 of them married), so it just turns out he's someone who takes his relationships very very seriously.

Then he has love bombed me for 12 years straight. Is that even possible?

Anyone who does 70+% of housework without pushing or asking is a rare gem in my book. My standards aren't compromised at all. I'm a very take charge sort of person, so I'm grateful that my husband has trust in me to let me make the decisions and not let his masculinity get in the way. Well, to go more HVM, he also let me go back to college full time and paid for everything, no complaints. He moved across the country with me when my father died. He helped take care of my uncle with cerebral palsy…

My husband chased me, and went out of his way to make me feel valued. When we had only dated for about 2 weeks, I had to go to the ER. When he found out, he was there immediately, drive me home, made dinner, and pretty much waited on me hand and foot. He has continued that behavior for 12 years, even after marriage. He does 70% of the housework without being asked, will do romantic gestures just because, never watches porn (that I know of), I ALWAYS get off first, and we both communicate with ea…

I do, but I don't have much hope of him doing that. My rheumatologist is amazing though, so I'll mention it to him.

We are almost exactly the same in symptoms, including age. I'm having such a hard time working from home. Peer pressure and spite can motivate me, and I have neither right now. I went to my company's EAP to see if I can get diagnosed, and of of a lost of about 50 therapists/psychologists, none are taking new patients or are not equipped to diagnose. It's infuriating.

I'm obviously not privy to their every day lives, but Christopher Walken and Robert Smith seem pretty damn devoted to their wives after years and years and years. Robert still gushes about his wife and has written some of the most romantic songs in existence about her. Also the last proficient POTUS has nothing bad on him from his marriage and seems to still be quite into Michelle, even with two grown daughters.

The high value part is he's washing her delicates by hand, instead of just chucking them in the washing machine and possibly ruining them.. And he also listened to and followed other women's advice. Definitely high value behavior.

Ugh. The reason I decided to date my husband seriously, and not just have as a rebound, was because the second week we were dating, I ended up being in a lot of pain with a sudden fever and went to the ER. It was never formally diagnosed, but there were mutters about my gallbladder. We were supposed to hang out that evening, so I called him and told him I wasn't feeling well. He left work early, rushed to the hospital to pick me up, bought me dinner, and waited on me hand and foot until I fell a…

Just because I managed to hold out and find my husband, I went through all the same shit everyone else has with LVMs and pickmeisha-itis, and probably worse. I leveled up on my own in my early 30s but it would have been so much easier to have this as a resource. I've now hit the Age of the Wall (ha!), and have single friends and family members (that should be old enough to know better by now) that I try to redirect here. This is a sub that every woman should read, and while I have a wonderful hu…

Right. This is my husband. Salt of the earth, keeps his word, super reliable, doesn't even glance at other women, and practically waits on me hand and foot. We have a good marriage, but no kids cause furry kids are better. He is the only person I've ever met where EVERYONE from babies to centegenarians instinctively and immediately like him. He has no idea of how unusual and wonderful he is. Which is probably a good thing, lol.

Meanwhile, HVM husband mornings over here: Husband wakes up at 5:30am, sneaks out to not wake me up, feeds dogs and cats, coffee or tea, showers, starts making lunches until 6:45am, when he comes in to wake me up (incidentally letting dogs and cats help wake me up), puts out all vitamins and supplements we take along with a glass of water, comes back at 7am to cuddle for 15 minutes, then pushes me in bathroom to get ready. I get ready, finish packing my lunch, husband makes breakfast if we're ea…

Head up and projecting confidence is the game changer., no matter what you're wearing.

Surgically precise eyebrows are the most important thing I can do. I look like a wildebeest when my eyebrows are shaggy even if I'm dressed to the nines. I inherited my dad's huge Bert (from Sesame Street) eyebrows. When they're done correctly, I look like I'm wearing makeup even if I just rolled out if bed. Get an Indian girl who knows what's she's doing, and go a little thinner than what is popular now. A nice classic gull wing is my favorite. Also, make sure your hems are the right length for…

Plus size black woman married to a white HVM. I went through all the same things you're going through. Guys of all caliber want you when you don't need or seek their approval. Go out, have an AWESOME time doing whatever you want to do, always look like you're enjoying yourself (if you aren't, leave), and lift your chin HIGH. Confidence is everything. Be classy, smile at everyone (girls and dudes) even if it's just to be friendly, but you don't have to offer them anything more than that. I have n…

I'm married to a totally besotted HVM. We've been together for 10 years, married for 8, and he does NOT want to know about my sexual past. He said this in the beginning, and holds to it now. He knows I'm more experienced, since I was only his 2nd ever, but he freely admits that knowing details would just make him upset. All he cared about when we first got together was that we were both STD free. Why would a HVM care after all this time? The past is the past, and he's my present and future.

Late to the thread but my husband is the best husband. He does the laundry, is my sous-chef in the kitchen, makes me tea every morning, carries everything when we're out, and even cleans the litterbox. He's extremely attentive in public too, and I have talked to many other women who seem super envious of us. I'm very happy I gave him a chance 10 years ago....best decision ever.

Sometimes grabbing another guy to soothe wounded self esteem works wonders, but most of the time going any further than FWB or NSA backfires after you heal. ...This might be hard earned experience talking here. But hey, usually people learn from their mistakes and don't repeat them! You won't fall for that again, so yay!

OMFG. You are a saint for putting up with that. Or a sucker....not shaming you. I've definitely been there too. Congrats on the escape!
