Don’t be silly, no woman would ever lie about this! They’re all good peoples. Far more men would absolutely literally rape someone though - that’s a given. /s if not obvious

Try ‘women asking their partners to rape them’ - weird shit I’ve had from two. Almost an indication that there’s something deeply fucked up in many (not all, etc.) women’s psychology around this. But doesn’t happen!

Don’t worry, when challenged about this - and only then - they’ll agree that men can be raped too. And deny they ever have any bias and insist ‘feminism is for everyone’

Tbf, which kind of bear? I would happily run into a spectacled bear with 0% chance of doing anything but being cute than an armed man or woman who has a 0.1% or whatever chance of trying to mug me. Brown bear maybe not.

I have had both and noticed no difference. YMMV but I’m not sure one person’s anecdotal evidence means much. Completely possible, I suppose, but would need to see a proper study, with a more rigorous definition of ‘bunk-ass’, or at least a survey of people’s satisfaction with their haircuts in each case, and I doubt there is such a study.

I am saying that none of this speech should be banned. That is the right way overall. Saying this is not ‘helping the enemy’, this is an ancient and cliched discussion, and that phrasing is just odd.

I mean, my point is it shouldn’t be banned either way. And Elon Musk isn’t close to as great at free speech as he claims.

This case is utterly horrific and kudos to Gisèle. Clearly a secondary issue to the case, but the same can’t be said for some others… it’s curious how some online extremist feminists (including certain subreddits) immediately took to the idea that these 70+ men were ‘just random men around the town - bakers, store owners…’ and that this was therefore a massive random sample of what men are like. The truth is that he went online to some very dark websites to recruit these men. Yes, a certain few …

I mean, the test of free speech is when it’s the speech we hate. Not the speech we like. I’m not in favour of such a ban: if anything it provides us with copious evidence that misandry is real. Though Musk hasn’t been great on free speech on Twitter anyway.

On top of the moronic vitriol and hatred for anyone male for how they were born, even babies, one even said ‘all the babies born lately are boys’. Does she really think this is literally true, rather than maybe just a couple of those she knows and/or has read about? Paragons of reason here people

No wonder Reddit had me believing Kamala had it in the bag Tbf, from the actual polls and analyses posted on Reddit, even in left leaning spaces, I saw a lot of nervousness and it was very uncertain till the end - and even then was leaning against her. Depends on the sub of course. Some liberal American subs are more considered than others. And the fact most of Reddit supported her isn’t simply due to this but because Reddit is younger. Most American voters below a certain age did vote for her. …

I’d argue that this is even just using the same word for two completely different ideologies. ‘Feminism’ for ‘woman should have equal rights and not be oppressed’ in a Taliban context is completely reasonable and urgently needed, and 100% in line with my beliefs. It is fundamentally different from the modern radical feminism that makes a bunch of very toxic and false claims.

She writes for the Specator. It’s funny how some ‘TERFs’ have found extremely unlikely homes in right wing quarters with sudden new conservative fans based on the TE, as though the RF weren’t more fundamental to their worldview - there’s a reason the F is the noun, not the modifier. The only reason they’re anti-trans is because they see trans women as a massive misogynistic conspiracy by those terrible, terrible men

I don’t think it’s always a conscious form of intelligence. The fact that they can get away with it is by itself enough for them to get away with it more easily, by definition, without as much reasnoning or self-awareness required

Was curious so searched through these. One has the restriction ‘Gender: Female-identifying’, one has the restriction ‘Gender: male’, and one has the restriction ‘Background: teen mom or former teen mom’. So that’s 2 for women vs. 1 for men.

5.- Flirting is often just a fun thing for women to do, because it’s really not as big a deal for them - whether (semi-)consciously leading someone on for their benefit, or because they’ve subconsciously been conditioned by positive feedback (or less negative feedback) to give compliments/hair flicks/certain tones of voice/light touching/far more apparently blatant signals than that, while oblivious to why this receives positive feedback (as much as we hear how men have no idea what it’s like to…

Women get pathetically lighter sentences overall. In this case, it was presided by Judge Victoria Valentine Funnily enough the only other case I can find where she presided was where she handed two young girls (12 and 14) over to their father’s custody after their brother killed their mother, even though they testified their father had continually beaten their mother: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/oakland-county/2019/06/28/oakland-judges-ruling-alleged-killers-sisters-reversed/160…

I love how radical feminists claim that ‘feminism is for men too’ and that they are The only ones who focus on those issues… and that even saying there needs to be another movement to include men is misogynistic. What does ‘femin-‘ mean, arseholes?

That’s stupid. And if that happens just once extremists of the Shulamith Firestone type will be able to point to it as an ‘example’ that destroys any claim of bias (regardless of the massive skew in numbers). Not helpful on that front either. This shit shouldn’t happen at all. Of course it’s not sexual harassment, it’s just being rude.

Not mainly South East Asia - it’s mainly the Muslim areas like Indonesia, Malaysia and parts of the Philippines and rarer outside that (not common in Thailand, Vietnam, etc.). But it’s also a major custom across the Muslim world (which is rather larger). It’s also big in much of non-Islamic sub-Saharan Africa, and also famously a Jewish custom, which probably originally influenced Islam in this.

I honestly don’t think those who act this way are all self-aware. Their human brains are convincing themselves they’re moral beings and hold to common sense in theory, but refuse to acknowledge what’s in their lizard brains underneath that ultimately determine their actions. Men have this issue in a different way, but are at least far more likely to be self-aware of it

People can talk about what they like, but expecting to have someone at work to have a heart to heart about my genital problems when it starts to flag when I’m older? That’s quite a demand.
/r/MensRights28/11/24 04:49 PM
1

I understand there’s no direct equivalent of periods or menopause, but as a man I don’t expect to be able to tell my boss what my genitals are up to in any sense whatsoever. I see no situation where I’d start talking about my genitals to a representative at work, or one day expecting a heart to heart when they start to work less well.

‘It would have been fair if she had spoken openly about it. How am I, as a woman, supposed to talk to a woman who was born a man about my menstrual problems or my problems during the menopause? She can’t understand that at all,’ the officer said. So I think the situation is ridiculous on a couple of fronts, but is this necessary or normal for professional women to talk about to their work colleagues and bosses? Let alone cops?

Tbf, the allegations came out and she was quickly suspended - before the results were announced, but after the voting. So there’s that. Sounds like virtue signalling on the part of the women cops based on one thing, rather than getting to know this character’s personality, to me. But at least it’s not like they all knew she did this first and voted for her anyway.

Suddenly, when male lives are to be expended, it’s obvious that all women are weaker and slower than all men. And it’s all hand to hand combat. But when it’s convenient, this is unthinkable and 50% or honestly more of all action heroes must be representative of those multitudinous Strong Female LeadsTM who weren’t here a moment ago in real life.

Before judging from this I’d want a much clearer picture. Obviously we expect an increase since the days women were at best discouraged hugely from joining the workforce, especially in Franco’s archtraditionalist Spain. The relevant feature is the fact there are more women than men now. It looks like women make up about 60% of employees of the public sector now. The current left-wing government may have something to do with that, but I’m curious what jobs they tend to predominate in? Is this cle…

Sorry but this seems to be following a similar line of reasoning to radical feminists’: assuming that the only explanation for a disparity must be one particular sort of discrimination. Honestly? Sex with somewhat drunk people - men or women - isn’t automatically assault. There’s a spectrum of drunkenness from slightly buzzed through quite tipsy to stumbling drunk and blackout drunk. And someone’s ability to consent lies on a similar spectrum. This is real life and it’s complicated. Drunk people have sex with each other all the time, so what then. If someone is absolutely wasted, and someone sober has sex with them, then that would be rape in my book, regardless of the genders …

My experience too. There’s a study showing that women generally prefer their male bosses to female bosses. Even feminist articles will talk about how ‘women don’t support women’ in this regard, though I’m sure this is men’s fault somehow (we induced internalised misogyny, women bosses act out due to more threat from the patriarchy, etc., whatever). In fairness it should be noted that this has been done with some sex-neutral early and relatively curable and mild cancers. For example early stage basal and squamous cell cancers are often labelled ‘precancer’ when speaking to patients when they technically are a form of cancer, but they don’t want the patient to freak out when the early stages of these are extremely curable and not remotely as life threatening (if treated) as what people usually take from the word. I think there is a place for the phrase ‘the patriarchy’ but it is drastically different from the modern feminist concept of it. (1) It is an emergent phenomenon based on individual choices, which has historically included discrimination against women but also includes a natural (even genetic, hormonal and neurological) inclination of many, many women to want men to take the lead, and the greater pressure this puts on men to do so. In practice, radical feminism, together with its close identitarian and ‘intersectional’ ideological cousins, is the only cult that stipulates a code of conduct but only for a class of outsiders (men), and no code of conduct for insiders except ‘You go girl, do whatever you want you be you and you’re amazing, strong, beautiful, stunning and brave just the way you are’. It’s not just about better immune systems but because of our metabolisms there is evidence we really do go more into overdrive, and there’s even evidence we experience more neurological pain or at least stronger signals associated with it in response to a viral infection. Yeah but a man being literally forced by the government to be shot at or blown to bits isn’t the government controlling men’s bodies! But the government allowing companies not to be forced to pay for a woman to have an abortion after even consensual unprotected sex… is controlling women’s bodies. #RadicalFeministLogic

Depends on context. Honestly, everyone, male or female, has the right to self-defence and if someone attacks me and is a serious imminent threat, I will kick a fellow man in the balls if I really have to, depending on how it plays out. It’s one physical vulnerability in a fight that men have, so women will be more likely to exploit it as they have fewer other options, typically, as they’re generally at a serious physical disadvantage otherwise. But that’s ONLY if it’s self-defence, when it’s fai…

There’s a difference between mean intelligence, which is indeed very close (standard deviation less so), and other psychological aspects - Peterson would never claim that men and women were extremely similar emotionally and psychologically in general. He’s said the opposite rather too often. Men are the ones women expect to be strong, stable, calm in danger, grounded and disciplined and take care of women… but we’re also all so immature. Maybe, just maybe, we have evolved to tend to be more mature in some ways and less in others, and have very different but complementary brains, on average? Nah, clearly one gender is simply a mistake, men.

This particular trend was indeed biased against women, and there were particular myths that attached to the female ‘witches’, but 20-25% of those executed in witch hunts and witch trial crazes were men. It was about Satanism and such, not only women. In fairness we’ve used the word ‘witch’ as the catch-all for centuries, which has an explicit female connotation. Radical feminists insist all non-physical differences between men and women are socialised while growing up. It’s both. With lesbians, it’s more likely to be a cascade that gets out of control because neither partner will simply take a slap to the face and allow the other one to defuse. Both retaliate, because women have never developed the extra ‘Should I do this?’ thought in between, or been told they have to - not to the same extent. And they expect to be believed at face value and judged on their convenient, bad faith switch to that view. Meanwhile, a man can have a nuanced, fair-minded take all the time and they’ll take it in bad faith and impute views you’ve never held.

On top of which of course the pretentiously vacuous and ‘avant-garde’ Brooklyn Museum did this. Their most popular event was a David Bowie exhibit for a year, for no discernible reason. And Miss Piggy is a fictional, stereotypical caricature of a selfish, narcissistic, delusional, fat prima donna - created by Jim Henson, who was [checks notes] a man. I’d have expected feminists to be enraged.
/r/MensRights01/10/24 06:15 PM

Tangentially related but I find it odd how fat pride is cast as a feminist movement. Apparently no one derides fat men, who are out there getting all the love and attention from their preferred gender and seen as ‘totally beautiful bodies’. Never mind, you know, attributes that men get shat upon which they can do far less about. Dick size, height, balding, what have you. And being skinny isn’t good enough for men like it is for women: you have to lose weight and gain muscle.
/r/MensRights01/10/24 06:12 PM

They simply won’t be able to get enough women. If they want 30% then the army will massively shrink as a whole. And on average, women are nowhere near as good at this very physically demanding work, so it’s utterly unreasonable to demand 30%. In some countries the physical requirements have to be stupidly lowered for women - which raises the question, why not less physically capable men whose level is somewhere in between?

There is nuance. But yes, the radical feminist pantheon was heavily influenced by Marxist theory. We can even go back earlier. to Simone de Beauvoir, who was explicitly heavily influenced by Marxism and used its verbiage - it’s a hard sell to say she wasn’t. Modern radical feminism is largely based on 1950s-70s Marxist theory, though. They’ve taken the framework of seeing everything as a system of oppression structures based on power, dogmatically reducing people’s worth and perceived guilt to where they lie in that system, ie the economic class system… and see them as the enemy in a revolution whose aim is to overthrow that system, with everything subservient to that cause and any ‘counter-revolutionaries’ to be silenced and condemned. Not really a counter-argument. Men’s rights shouldn’t be about doing the opposite of whatever feminists do, that’s simply an argumentative reaction in a ‘no u’-style debate. It should be about men’s rights. Men get discriminated against in terms of violence at the hands of men, too, in ways that women are largely privileged to avoid (from military recruitment to lower chances of being sucker punched in a bar or in the street, to huge cultural pressure never to hit a woman… specifically, as ‘hitt…

A lot of those will be child murders. IIRC there’s a study that up to age seven children are more likely to be killed by their mothers than fathers.

Yeah purely on the medical side of things, even if that one testicle had been removed he could still have kids.

So the issue is deeper than the press and in a sense it’s not the press’s fault here: they have to report in line with the actual conviction, and unfortunately biological women cannot be charged with rape in England and Wales, as the charge of rape is legally defined to involve penetration with the rapist’s penis. Women can instead be charged with sexual assault, which has a much lower minimum but in theory has a similar maximum - but of course this is rarely the case with women and men for the …

I mean exactly. ‘Women have always been the primary victims of war. Women lose their husbands, their fathers, their sons in combat.’ - someone well known Be like a radfem. Don’t think for more than half a second or uncomfortable truths that should be truly obvious might reveal themselves.

Let’s do what this sort of person’s mind is incapable of and apply the same standard to them. If only 10% of men are heroes, what’s it for women? 0.3%? And I mean heroes by the standard they set for men, not someone who is so brave they go and get their nails done in Ukraine, like that recent post. Or turn their used tampon into a ‘you go girl’ ‘art’ exhibit.
/r/MensRights17/08/24 02:52 PM

So in the UK ‘rape’ has for ages been legally defined as involving penetration of the victim specifically with a penis. Women can be charged with sexual assault, which in theory varies from far less serious to just as serious, with sentencing guidelines varying accordingly, but yeah the double standard in the language is bullshit. And, of course, in practice women get relative slaps on the wrist. Not about rape, but here’s one example where the judge was actually explicit about giving a woman a …

I said no such thing. Please learn to read. ‘Not always’ != ‘never’. Maybe you can comprehend that, with a little effort. And yes, 10% is ‘significant’. Most intelligent sentence ending in unironic ‘lol’. Lmao, lol, 😂, 😜, etc.
/r/MensRights16/08/24 05:16 PM

Yes, I think up to 10% chance of irreversibility for a procedure widely over-advertised as being completely reversible is a significant risk. That doesn’t mean other things are not a significant risk in a completely different way, but that’s not what it’s about. Also, it’s odd to respond to ‘not always reversible’ with ‘no, it’s 90-95% reversible’, as though that’s at all a contradiction. But no worries, have a good one.
/r/MensRights16/08/24 05:08 PM

So 5-10% of the time it is not? You realise ‘usually’ != ‘not always’, right? And that’s a pretty significant risk. Depends where, too.

So many of these hypocrisies and nastinesses would be realised by a half second’s thought if they mentally substituted a race for ‘men’ and realised how shit it sounded. But they can’t think straight for even half a second.

A review of one book series written by a woman. And a review of another very different (or not so different?) book based on that book series, also written by a woman. Both have one dimensional men and zero dimensional women.

Seems viewership is higher for men’s than women’s at Wimbledon. This may vary hugely by country and who’s playing: eg I would imagine the Serena Williams era drew huge US viewership, when the dominant men were a Swiss and a Serb. But this speaks to Serena Williams herself, and the US, rather than a general policy between both. Equal attendance at the matches itself has been somewhat forced, of course, especially as combined events. The question is who is the bigger draw. A play starting an A-lis…

For actual attendance at the top level, like the Olympics and Grand Slams? I don’t have figures but I would imagine similar, since those are huge events and the stands are more or less maxed out - the tickets are also generally sold together in at least some (eg, you would buy tickets for the US Open for an afternoon, and then largely the same audience watches a women’s game and then a men’s in row, or vice versa). In terms of actual total TV/streaming viewership, or how many would be attending …

Hmm so actually seems they finally changed it last year! But until then there’s a breakdown here Wikipedia goes through the rules for sets and games between gentlemen’s and ladies’. The Guardian obviously tries to make everything out to be worse for women but even they have to discuss how pay ‘equality’ was ‘finally’ achieved (it’s just assumed that this is fair, somehow.)

No, far too on the nose. People say things that are just as stupid things in earnest, but with that wording this is just a case of an ‘obvious sarcasm’ detector being broken. And I mean really obvious.

Agreed. Though even U18 is pushing it: the Dallas U15 boys’ team beat the USWNT in 2017. And that’s between two FIFA Women’s World Cup victories, so undeniably the best women’s team in the world at the time.

It’s ‘unfair’ for men to get any appreciation for what they bring to the table or their attributes. They are the oppressor and of no use, etc. Unless you need someone for a job which is likely to get someone killed. Then suddenly men’s contributions are, um, ‘appreciated’…

First off, I know what you mean but ‘Feminazi’ is pretty cringey as words go. Easy. A truly non-sexist approach would just be to ignore gender completely and combine them for all sports... And guess what would happen - outside long distance swimming, dressage (…), and a couple of others: the best women in the world may sometimes come first at a local level, but not beyond that, especially for anything where strength or speed make a big difference. Especially the former: the world’s strongest wom…

I mean, it’s one of the most basic conversation starters. What do you do half the time, what are you passionate about and identify as… this is a pretty normal thing to ask. It’s what most people ask others at parties to start a convo, regardless of gender, no harm meant. His reaction may be due to sensitivity about his own job, or bad experiences so his mind leapt to gold-digging? Maybe she phrased it awkwardly? But it’s pretty absurd.

I have found women to be very poorly equipped for empathy with men, while men will instantly react more if a woman is hurt or when something is a ‘woman’s issue’ - to the point of defending them etc. The idea women are more empathetic is based on how they express it. So apparently going ‘Oh my gawd!!!’ more and being wired to respond more automatically when a baby cries (for a very different reason) is the definition of ‘empathy’.

Yes but like all differences in treatment, including those that are clearly and obviously biased against men, this will be framed as discrimination against women. ‘This puts pressure on women to put more effort into their appearance’ [because other women get b*tchy and give them shit if they wear the same colour twice in a row], etc. Because women famously hate clothing and variety and (well, straight) men do nothing but hyper-fixate on whether the women obey the fashion rules.

It’s hilarious to me how many people who typically don’t like radical feminists have embraced TERFs. And so many others use ‘TERF’ as a synonym for ‘transphobe’, so I suppose the likes of Tucker Carlson are radical feminists now... TERFs not only hate trans people, they believe they’re a conspiracy theory by The PatriarchyTM to destroy women’s safe spaces and identities. Insane no matter how you look at it, provided you don’t think like JK Rowling.

Bet they’re fair-minded the other way right. Reminds me of that viral video of a black woman complaining about how her white guy friend doesn’t understand her own fear of being shot by the police. I don’t give a shit what she feels, when the facts decisively show that white men are more at risk than black women. Gender is far more decisive here. Ffs the justice system shows that black women suffer less from police injustice etc. than white men… these irrational, odious harridans should shut up.

I mean, to be fair, there have definitely been societies where a woman has ruled and yet women have been oppressed. Ordinary women were treated horribly in law (by today’s standards) in Elizabethan England, and not even allowed to hold most senior jobs, but due to how royalty worked the queen herself - ironic as it was - was an exception. The same was true of a typical Pakistani village even when Benazir Bhutto was PM there, etc.

And they’re too brainwashed - honestly? Dumb - to have any self-awareness about this. So many things like this take only a couple of seconds’ logical reflection. But dogma trumps all. And beyond age five, ‘good intentions’ aren’t enough. Not realising something two seconds’ empathy would force one to… makes one a bad person

I’ve seen this a few times. Even taking offence to absolutely horrific insults (and thus ‘not being confident!’), with next to no affirmation, while expecting massive compliments and considering it an insult if they get less than 100 a day. Absolutely irrational and obvious hypocrisy and double standards. They’ll claim they want you to be honest, coax and goad and make you feel at ease to do so. An excellent point. Hadn’t considered that. Especially given one of those is truly based on gender norms, and the other is just ‘being the other half of a relationship’ - which is symmetric. Of course, don’t ever look at domestic violence rates between women as opposed to men vs. women, either, nor other combinations. And remember, only rape and domestic violence of women is underreported…

Body image is a hilarious one: men get shamed for weight just as much, but also being too skinny, and things that really can’t be helped (height, hair loss, penis size). And there is far less social stigma attached to those who mock or make negative claims about these. But it’s a ‘woman’s issue’. Also ‘culture of violence against women’. Men are killed 3-4 times more, so specifying the minority group there. There is literally a culture of ‘don’t hit girls’, let alone a culture of only protesting…
