The scooters are legal, the companies have gotten permits to operate. They solve a problem, the last mile between public transportation and your destination. If you have a problem with the business model take it up with the government that approved them. It makes no sense to vandalize property. You could say the same about rental cars, they also park in spaces where private citizens could park.

Every scooter that I've seen parked annoyingly has been placed there by an asshole, and every scooter that's being driven dangerously on the sidewalk is being driven by an asshole. In the beginning I was against scooters too but it's the assholes who need to pay.

The UK has no stand your ground doctrine. Even against someone (a man, thief, robber etc) coming towards you, you can't just defend yourself beyond a certain point if you can run away.
