If you live in a major city, it's pretty easy to just google "meditation group (insert city name)." Otherwise you may need to ask about it at local yoga or Buddhist centers.

Just throwing this out there, but I've met two current plates at a meditation group. I've also met several other potential plates/random hookups at various meditation only settings - i.e. No yoga, just sitting or walking meditation. I even hooked up with a fellow student during a weekend long silent retreat. I think you can add an X to the meeting ladies column for meditation.

An apology is a social tool. Use apologies in certain social matters to get what you want. Never feel sorry or ashamed or guilty - perhaps that's a more appropriate post heading. Like OP said, a carefully worded and planned apology works wonders depending on the setting, especially if you want someone to think you're "honorable" or "respectful." Doesn't have to be a PR move in the grand sense, but an apology should be used for an end goal, it should not itself be the end goal.

One of my former plates found out her mom got early onset Alzheimer's. The mom was 50 at the time, girl was 22. I can't imagine this lady has any concept of how shitty this is going to end up for her kid. Even barring some medical catastrophe, I doubt she'll be a 55 year old ball of energy for her teenaged bitch-in-training. Leave it to a post-wall hyper hamster to find the good in such a shitty situation. AWALT...
