"Better than Beauty-a Guide to Charm"...it was written about 1930s, so some of it is outdated, but it was an interesting read.

I got this from a book, but basically: don't share all your troubles to everyone. No one really wants to hear about how poorly you slept last night, the details of your doctor's appointments, or how terrible your weekend was. I know someone who grouses about everything and it's so off-putting. I never share medical details about myself or unload on someone about my crummy day. I suppose my grandmother, who I consider to be the"last" of the greatest generation. She is 98. She presents herself very well, and continues to do so. She went to university to be a teacher, was interupted by the war, then went back to school and married my grandfather. She got her Master's while being a mom to three young boys.
