I date with the intent to settle down. The few women I find genuinely attractive and "worth pursuing" (I guess?) all seem to be deeply Christian and I'm agnostic. I want a nerdy yogi in my life, but that's low-key just me pining for my ex.

What do you define as "quality decline?"

What irritates me most about that r/askmen post is how easily it seems so many of them have it with dating in the first place, and here I am half-able to develop a friendship where I don't feel like I'm a bother to someone. Thank you for this thorough write-up.

That's totally fine. The Man From Earth kind of broke me into talky conversation films. I'll check your suggestions out!

Nope, that's why I'm here! I really don't pay attention to the director or writers unless the film is really good. Thanks for your suggestions!

Terminator, Alien, hnng. I loved animated Mulan when I was a kid; are you referring to the new one? And Snow Falling on Cedars is on my list, now, thank you!

I'll check out First Wives Club. Midsommar confused me so much! I went into it expecting a horror movie along the lines of A24's Hereditary, and spent the first half of the movie lost. Unfortunately I had to have a Vox article explain it to me, but all it did was confirm my suspicions: Christian was LVM embodied, and Dani wasn't just a passenger in her drug-fueled spiritual awakening. I'll have to watch it again, though. 28 Hotel Rooms is now on my list, too, thanks!

Ooh we have very similar film tastes. I'll have to check out Unbroken, thank you! And have you seen Children of Men?

I LOVE Drive. I'm pretty sure it's the only movie I watched for about a month straight, and I still listen to the soundtrack. Can't say I've ever heard of Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, though? I'll get back to you once I watch it.

OUTBREAK! I watched Contagion the other day and remembered The Andromeda Strain but couldn't remember Outbreak! Thanks for reminding me!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
