If we were aiming to be a completely soulless society were global productivity is the only thing that matters, sure, you'd be right. Luckily, some people still strive to get some amount of individual rights, and that does go both ways and don't apply to work market exclusively. irrelevant While I agree with most of your statement, gender isn't irrelevant here, it's just unfair and should be ignored for equality's sake. For example, men have a 0% chance to get pregnant, whilst almost all women have more than that. This is relevant from a pure practical standpoint because it's just not convenient to hire women that are as capable as men because they're more likely to get pregnant, but in reality it's not fair to deduct points for that (and that would be discrimination).
