I think it's slightly cyclical For example mom and dad raise a son where the dad is the beta provider than the son usually can turn out alpha in terms of development, growth and resources. Alpha dad bangs mom and dips leaving the mom with a kid than that son usually turns out beta in terms of being raised by a single mom, no beta provider to provide resources so worse nutrition, food, etc.
