You have to judge it by the situation and the woman. I don't really think about it, I just sit down. I've had dates where the women would give me literal Yes and No responses to my questions or just shrug to my open ended questions. I conclude those dates pretty quickly. I have no problem being up front and telling her, this isn't working and leave.

I forgot to add. If your unsure with the arm technique, practice with a female friend. Just be up front with your friend with what your doing, take her by the arm, wrist, hand, then repeat, repeat. repeat. Tell your friend it's practice for picking up chicks, she should be cool with it and let you practice. If she is a dick about it, I'd retire her from your friend cirlce. Buy her coffee. Do lunch. Go shopping. Just walk around and practice.

Honestly, I'd just go to the gym and concentrate doing your cardio and weights. I go to the gym to workout and get into shape, I figure I will have plenty of opportunities to work on my approaches outside the gym.
