I can see this leading to a lot more same sex couples, actually, because you don’t stand a lot to lose when you engage with the same sex, and I think most people actually can swing either way if they become open-minded to it. As a bisexual woman, I’m not sure sexual or romantic attraction works like that. It took me until age 29, during the pandemic in 2020, to finally figure out I’m bi after lurking in r/bisexual for several weeks because I believed the myth that “everyone is a little bi” for m…

Wait, people are going after Evan Rachel Wood now for calling out Manson? And Manson is a friend of Depp’s? This is all so messed up. I watched the documentary ERW did about her relationship with Manson and trying to get justice, and I believe her.

I just realized I can see why women saying they don’t feel safe around men might be upsetting if those men base part of their identity around the idea of men as dominant protectors of women. It’s basically suggesting that they’re failing at their job. The idea of women not needing them could also tie into this. If your identity is being dominant and protective in relation to women, and you take that away, what does the person have left? This is why it isn’t a good idea to build yourself an ident…

You’ve got time. I didn’t have my first and so far only serious relationship until I was in college. I don’t do casual dating though (maybe I should try it at some point). But even if you do, you have time. You’re barely an adult. You’re just getting started, so try not to worry too much this early on.

Stop being anxious. Wow, it’s really that simple? I had no idea! Thanks for this life-changing advice, Sherlock! 😀 Idk what I’ve been doing with my life. 😒🤦🏼‍♀️ Sincerely, a girl with legit generalized anxiety.

Personally, I place a fair amount of importance on being friends with someone first before getting into a relationship with them, even if I just get to know them over the course of a month as opposed to years. I want to be sure I like you as a person first before putting any romantic investment into you. I don’t do casual sex. I’m only opening myself up to you that way and making myself that vulnerable if I’ve decided I can trust you and have an emotional connection to you. And to decide if I ca…

That sounds like a selfish and shitty, not to mention aggressive, attitude to go into things with. ‘I want to hit it off with a woman, but it’s about me and my feelings. Never mind hers.’ You’ve put me off already.

I agree that this whole ‘security of having a fallback guy’ thing is probably at play too with the woman in this post.

More like, ‘speaking as a woman who might have a better idea of where this woman is coming from than men do.’ Take my two cents of leave it. I’m just tossing it on the pile. ¯\(ツ)/¯

Speaking as a woman, with experience with the complex and contradictory nature of human emotions, I’m guessing what happened here is that this guy was coming on too strong and aggressively and this woman didn’t like it, but once his attention moved to someone else, the woman in this post realized she kind of missed the attention, because even if it’s undesirable attention, there might be that small part of you that is still flattered by it. Then when the negative aspects of the attention are tak…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
