As an autistic person, this video was beyond infuriating. Because in some cases it's not even out of fear that the situation will only get worse, or to end the conflict. When I get yelled at, I'm in so much mental and physical pain that at some point I can no longer speak. And by that I mean I am literally no longer able to make my body speak. Imagine not being able to speak for hours (for some, this condition lasts for days or even longer) because you are experiencing a sensory overload from be…

I was kinda confused about whats wrong with saying to a man that they are not a guy for a hook up. I mean maybe it’s because I never had any hookups in my life, but in my mind I only associate good things with a man that would be considered marriage material. A sense of responsibility, good emotion regulation, reliability, honesty, respectful, someone who shows me clear boundaries and in turn respects my boundaries. And overlaps in hobbies are also quite good. Also same plans for the future are …

how people reacted to this because historically, people have a massive double standard on who commits SA/Rape I mean, although if this scene here was in the script of Goldfinger, the fact that the hero of a movie commits what today would be considered rape on a female character and it wasn't a big deal (I mean, the movie won 2 Oscars) at least suggests that sexual harassment of women wasn't taken all that seriously at the time. But to be fair, I'm not entirely sure if in the minds of the 60s a m…

I hug my sister and there's obviously nothing remotely sexual about that, but there is a clear difference between hugging her and touching her bare breasts. And the same with my mother, father, uncle or friends. It doesn't matter if I'm a woman. And we're not talking about friends here, but colleagues. If I were to do something like that in Germany to my work colleagues, whether male or female, and there were video recordings and/or witnesses that it was intentional, then that would at least be …

Witch burning: In the Middle Ages The Middle Ages lasted from 500-1500, and while some witch hunts are indeed documented from the early Middle Ages, what is usually referred to when we talk about witch hunts (the ones you referring to, with 60 000 victims) started in the late Middle Ages around 1450, but the peak of these were between the years 1550 and 1650, which are considered part of the early modern period. The last legal witch execution took place in 1782 against Anna Göldi. To put this in…

Is this culture a patriarchy? Some therapist probably: 'Does that question worry you a lot? Are gender-related issues a big matter for you? When you think about these issues, WhAt dO yOu FeeL LiKe?' Writes something down. 'If you find it difficult to express your feelings, imagine you are a rose bush. Can you imagine where it is growing and what it looks like? HoW dOeS tHe rOsE bUsH FeeL?' The rose bush thing is based on a real experience. I still have no idea what she was trying to achieve.

I was not asking about my attachment style, I questioned the statement that a woman cannot be attached to their partner, and to do that I described the things I feel when I think about my boyfriend. The only complaint I had was about the way you used the term narcissism, because I have a general problem with the way some people use that word. The rest is just my point of view and my opinion about your opinion.

First of all, please stop casually throwing around words like narcissistic. Also, I wrote two sentences. Analyzing my attachment style based on that is interesting, but not very useful. And it should be clear that my comment is about how much I feel attached to him, not how much I am concerned about him and his feelings, because I did not plan to write 50 pages about my relationship at 6 am in the morning in a foreign language. Maybe I will write some of the worries later, but now I have to go t…

Okay, but if I have no emotional attachment to my boyfriend, why do I feel like a deer hopping across a colourful wildflower meadow in spring just thinking about seeing him in 2 days? And why do I think about which tall building I should take if something happens to him?

So what is the logical reason for men to punch each other in the face because one of them feels insulted, and to shout insults at each other instead of talking to each other calmly?

From what I hear from the stories of the men around me; just as it will be for women if they are (emotionally) abused by their parents, the trauma of being (emotionally) abused as a boy by his parents (especially the mother) will make it difficult for him to have a healthy romantic relationship as an adult and increase the change that he will end up with an abusive partner in the future.

Yes, I forgot that there are countries where rape is only defined as being penetrated, but not " made to penetrate". I'm sorry I didn't think of that. In Germany they define it as: "the perpetrator performs sexual intercourse with the victim or has sexual intercourse with the victim or has similar sexual acts performed on the victim which are particularly humiliating, especially if they involve penetration of the body (rape)". https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/stgb/__177.html So both are includ…

That would definitely be rape. You are probably talking about these news articles that say things like "30-year-old teacher had sex with 16-year-old student" or comments like "He should be lucky" (which are totally disgusting) and we should make sure that these women are called what they are, rapists. But what does that have to do with my question? What does a man's attractiveness have to do with my level of responsibility in a rape case? Maybe I'm missing something here, but in my opinion, only…

So if I get sexually assaulted or raped by a good-looking guy, it's my own fault? I mean, I have never been raped or anything, but as I understand the whole thing, the important part is that you are forced to do it, so the two things contradict each other. If there is consent, then you wouldn't call it rape or assault, but rather roleplay, no?

The red panda is not a bear; it belongs to the superfamily of weasels, like raccoons, skunks or martens, and if you go by taxonomic rank, it has about as much in common with a real bear as a seal. It got its name before the giant panda was classified as a bear.

If I seek political office, my relationship with my children, or who I hire to take care of them, will probably not be scrutinized by the press. The whole thing is probably only related to the USA, but in Germany it was actually a thing with Annalena Bearbock and also with Angela Merkel before she was elected chancellor. Merkel didn't even had children and never got any. I also remember that someone forgot a tabloid magazine (I don't know, Die Bunte or Die Emma or some other garbage) when I was …

It's good that you support and value men. The problem with your comments, however, is that you're talking past the reality of men's lives, and it's not because you're a woman. Because I'm also a woman, and even though I also will never fully understand men and their challenges in our society, I know that all this "be yourself and everything will be fine" talk is not helpful and is simply not true. As an autistic person, I was bullied for half my life, sometimes even beaten up by classmates or ne…

But then you shouldn't call it misogyny, because miso (misos = hate) and gyne (woman). It literally means to hate women. If the hatred arises from fear, we should call it gynophobia (I don't know if that's the right word for it, but it sounds right). But in general it's true that very often hate is the result of fear. Just like racism is often a result of xenophobia. And just out of interest, whats a "healthy amount of fear" from Women?

I feel soo sad... This is the third time in a year. Sorry if I understand this wrong, but are you saying that you had 3 breakups since the beginning of the year? Because 6 months would be a very short time for that.

My rule of thumb is: once we've met online, I only meet up for coffee or go for a walk. 80% of the dates I've had in my life have been dates for a walk, half of which (2) ended in a committed relationship. And honestly, I still don't understand why going to a restaurant for a date is the norm for so many people, especially on first dates. In my mind, there are only negative points, especially when I compare the two. Restaurant: high noise level time pressure due to table reservations can't have …

Okay, I just don't understand why she would do that on purpose if she said it wasn't that bad and if you look at how the whole situation was going. But yeah, maybe you should really switch the dojo.

One question, did she run to the coach and completely exaggerate the situation or was it more of a situation where the coach saw her with the ice, asked what happened and she described the situation as it was? Because the way you describe him it sounds like his thought process was "you hurt girl = you bad" so it wouldn't matter how he got the info.

It's about the fact that the reason these men couldn't vote was mainly due to discriminatory reasons like racism or classism, not sexism. He made no attempt to disprove OPs point. He was just trying to ask a question and bring an approach to the topic that differentiates the past further than the statistic that was shared. I don't see what's wrong with that.

I think it should sound like he started reading her bio and when he read "DEI director" he stopped and said to himself, "Okay, that's enough." And for that, he copy-pasted the text from the bio.

Wow, this means that the other 90-98% are all proven true right? I've never understood why people think like that. I mean, if you just read what's written in these studies, it should be obvious that it only means that 90-98% are not proven false. And if 10% are proven true, that only means that 90% are not proven true. So the biggest problem is not biased reporting, but rather people spreading misinformation because they don't listen carefully to what is being said, or because they make up imagi…

What does this even mean? In German all these terms (punched, hit, deck) translate to the same word. For real: „Du wurdest nicht GESCHLAGEN. Ich habe dich GESCHLAGEN.“ I didn't follo…

She's shouting at you because she doesn't know how else to help herself. If this happens frequently, she has never learned how to have a healthy discussion and is unable to regulate her emotions. My suggestion for someone who has problems with these things is do a social competence training and perhaps go to behavioral therapy.

75% of suicide victims are male In most countries there is compulsory military service for men only In most countries circumcision is legal, which is a form of genital mutilation Domestic violence against men is still not taken seriously by many in society Also its a place to talk about personal problems some man might face in their life. And it doesn't matter whether other population groups may have bigger problems, because in fact several problems can be discussed in a society at the same time…

Do you think that in most cases these are the same women? Like, I don’t want to say that there aren't any women who act contrary, but in my experience this is not a gender-specific behavior, but rather an individual problem of these people.

She met that man when she was 17 and married him at the age of 19. Most teenagers have a view of the world that is about as solid as a sandcastle. The article also states that she grew up in a rather conservative family. The fact that people tend to be against everything their parents think is good during puberty shouldn't be anything new. I don't think it's healthy to go from one extreme to another, but that doesn't automatically make her a male-exploiting liar.

In many cases, the reason for poor impulse control lies in the upbringing, for which the parents are usually responsible. So it is not entirely wrong to blame the parents. But of course an adult should also change their own behavior if it has a negative impact on their life, because spending the rest of their life blaming others for their problems will not solve them. So you can do both: naming an external factor and taking responsibility for your own life.

The standard should be to use only as much violence as necessary to detain a person, regardless of sex. So if this would have been a man and the police didn't have to taze him and put a knee on his neck, then they shouldn't do it. And I do realize that this is far too often not the case, but the solution should not be that unnecessary police violence is also used against women, because that does not help to better the situation of men.

They would give you a whole hospital to yourself. At least in my case, I got exactly the same support as autistic boys, as long as they were also diagnosed as children. And even if they get a whole hospital, autistic girls have to go to school alongside mainly non-autistic children and endure exactly the same bullying because people, and especially children, have an aversion to anything that's different. Plus, most schools don't give a fuck about bullying.
