You are correct. I had to read some of those studies for a 400-level strength training and conditioning class. Stretching before training reduces elasticity of your muscles and tendons, which decreases the lifter's power production capability and also increases risk of injury.

I read a few studies about stretching before and/or after training for a strength training and conditioning class for my major and this is the exact opposite of good advice. Stretching before a workout reduces the elasticity of your tendons and muscles, which decreases the amount of power the individual is capable of producing and increases risk of injury
