This bothers me as well. I’d pay more for something I can change the battery on when needed. Imagine if smoke alarms were sold this way smh…

Seriously. Her only mention of finances is she wants him to be able to support his own lifestyle. She doesn’t say anything about him paying her way. That said, it seems a lot of men on this sub don’t respect or value women that are career women, successful, or financially sufficient in their own right so that’s just down right confusing.

I’m so so sorry this happened to you. It wasn’t your fault. It happened to me too. I had bronchitis and walking pneumonia and was asleep when I woke up with my ex on top of me. I didn’t have the strength or will to stop it, but like you I wasn’t a willing participant. I just wanted it to be over. It’s traumatized me not because of the act but because of the betrayal of trust and being used for my body and not treated as a person. I felt violated and disgusting and heartbroken. Just know everythi…

I make more than enough money to support myself and I make good decisions with it when it comes to planning for my future. I also know we have one life to live and I want to build a life where I can share what I have with the people I love. Financially responsible = makes good decisions with money, plans for the future and makes thoughtful purchases and investments Generous = shares time and resources, is not a selfish miser

It’s very telling men think they get to define what high value means in terms of both women and men.🤣

100% this. Being tall, rich, and popular is not high value if what you want is a LTR with a financially responsible, kind, and generous man. Attraction is a factor for both parties but women are largely more willing to compromise on looks if they are gaining a true partner for which there is mutual respect and admiration.

If they treat their pets differently from yours in terms of attention or respect. My ex insisted on caring for my 9yr old female cat while I was away for a month for work. He has 2 young male cats. When I went to pick her up he had her locked alone in a bathroom because his 2 cats “had been too rough” with her. She was severely dehydrated, had lost 1/3 of her body weight and was barely able to stand on her own. She had to be taken to the emergency vet. He had completely ignored and neglected her…

They’re out there! I (35) haven’t dated any, but I can say many of my friends have married stellar, HV dudes. Don’t lose hope but don’t drop your standards either! These gals didn’t all just get lucky to meet HVM, they vetted for them FDS credentials notwithstanding. Honestly, seeing them in their strong loving relationships gives me so much hope.

When I was in my 20s I dated someone who tried to pull this shit. We’d been together for a few years when he decided to move to another country indefinitely (without me) because he was depressed and suicidal. He was incredibly manipulative but I think back to him saying “I was going to propose to you at the top of the Eiffel Tower one day” all I can do is laugh at how naive I must have been to be with him in the first place but also how lazy and trite a sentiment this was.

Let’s just break this down.... he invited his tinder date over thinking he was going to smash with his place looking like a nasty pigsty, and she brought cleaning supplies expecting it to be this filthy and excited to do a bunch a free labor... our society is sick. He should be humiliated by this but sadly she is the one that’s an embarrassment to her gender.

Ok, so if this were put into laymen’s terms title should read “if you aren’t living for yourself, you are living for a man/men/the patriarchy”. I think it still holds water. You can’t even flip this to make the same argument for MGTOW because society already favors men.

I didn’t say these were talents by any means but you have to admit the bar for average men in these regards is pretty low. I didn’t even say men aren’t capable of these things... women just put in a lot more effort into them and are generally better, more practiced, and more thoughtful.

If it’s harassment I can see this as important information if you don’t know the person. If they send it from home or work you could always inform wife or boss as well. 🤷‍♀️

If we’re talking average guy to girl we got you beat at: empathy & compassion, cooking & cleaning, gifting & shopping, considerate behaviors, child rearing, elder care, grooming & dressing, sexually more generous... just to name a few.

Amen. I can change a tire, change oil, drywall & mud, replace a toilet, hang a door, tile, grout, caulk, basic woodworking, basic sewing on a machine or by hand, use a hand loom or machine loom, interior decorate, garden, wheel throw ceramics, paint and draw, cut and color hair, braid, macrame, basket weave, camp, cook, fish... probably a bunch of other stuff, but I’m not sure how any of these equate that I’m good company. Skills do not equal personality.

Not as bad as this but not something I would ever go near. He was an “appearances” guy and kept shared areas clean(ish) and fairly tidy but was secretly gross. The never washing bed sheets or towels or scrubbing the shower was gross but he did weird things like all 6 of his dresser drawers were junk drawers and was pretty clueless about laundry in general. I chalk it up to his mother did absolutely everything for him until age 27.

My ex did not believe that I wash my bed sheets and towels every week. Said “no way” to me in a tone that made it clear that he thought that was exaggerating. My jaw dropped. I told him if he didn’t wash his at least that often there was no way in hell he’d ever find me in his bed again.

My main take away is HV is not defined by what a partner can offer monetarily, but how they see and respect you as a whole person. Someone who does the latter, and loves you, will do everything in their power to add value to all areas of your life. Edit: Too many men think being HV means they can OWN a woman. We are not prizes, we are people, and want autonomy over our lives and choices. “I love luxury, but freedom and independence better.” - Louisa May Alcott

We live in a depraved patriarchal world where that’s been the story from day one because men control the narrative. ITS NEVER BEEN THIS WAY, and if a girl/teen ever does “seduce and lie” to men it’s because culturally we’ve taught her that’s how to get what you want and your way of gaining some semblance of control. Men perpetuate this false narrative in movies, books, and songs. The notion of a child seductress is both abhorrent and widely accepted, placing the blame yet again on the girl for c…

This is the way! I’ve been in similar situations too many times to count. I’m a total introvert by nature but the sheer audacity of some of these men sets me on fire in such situations and I become a social butterfly -the more you ignore me the more I will ingratiate myself with your group ...and eventually I become “the one that got away”. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had exs reach out pathetically and they always mention how their aunt still asks about me at family gatherings because o…

I assume when men hear HVM they translate it as “tall, rich, celebrity attractive, well endowed men” instead of “men we are attracted to that pursue and respect us”. I assume this because when they say HVW they mean “hot girl/child that will be submissive/manipulated to their sexual needs and lifestyle, who will be their quiet but enthusiastic mommy/bangmaid”.

They are also completely avoidant and lack empathy when there is a life changing event in your life as well. They either take your grief/vulnerability as an opportunity for sex and or manipulation, or they will just downplay or avoid anything to do with your grief, or better yet, sometimes they will just drop you at the first sign of trouble/trauma just anticipating what may be around the corner.

Listen to your body! Do what is right for you. Every body is different! I literally can’t be off HBC or I fall apart physically and emotionally. (Also HBC can lower risk of ovarian cancer.)

Since all of this is antidotal, I want to chime in with my story...I AM THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE of these horror stories. I was never terribly regular as a teen and had moderate facial and body acne so went on HBC around 16. I’m 35 now and have only been off birth control for less than a year at a time since the age of 16. There was a time around 29 when I decided my body “needed a break” from the BC and I went off it. Then came the mood swings, the debilitating cramps, and the acne. It took about …

Wow, I looked up this video and this guy is a DIPSHIT. Not only does he talk out of both sides of his mouth (makeup bad but also good and some women should wear more?!??) his argument is absolutely incoherent. He’s got a problem with women who wear makeup or get plastic surgery because their genes won’t match? He’s worried about having sexy kids? Should people who wear contacts be shamed for hiding their undesirable genes, I wonder? He also seems personally offended that women can “disguise” the…

I grew up with an absent alcoholic manipulative petulant child for a father. It definitely left my brother and I both with serious “daddy issues”. The difference between us is, he mopes through life jaded and a victim and I forced myself out into the world determined to do and learn for myself and on my own. I can recognize the one advantage of being the daughter in this scenario is that I grew up determined to NEVER NEED A MAN and have effectively filled that role myself. He, on the other hand,…

WHAT?!! Y’all aren’t up in arms at the mere fact that this man is really evaluating himself and his wife in the 3rd person?!! I don’t know who this guy thinks he is but the fact he’s “responding” to the coerced tape of him and his wife is BEYOND imaginable. What the actual fuck. Show me, “wife responds from Airbnb in undisclosed location, to response video of husband”. I barely made it to the part where he started into evaluating himself in 3rd person. Shit gave me chills. Couldn’t agree with this more. It’s a crushing, but ultimately rebuilding, journey of self discovery. I came on board by way of some shit talking post about FDS and wanted to hear what those bonkers women incels were saying. I was SHOCKED at the truths I was faced with. The really scary part for me is I 100% believe him when he says he thinks he didn’t do anything wrong. He is not willing to believe he’s capable of rape and has hurt people in the deepest and truest sense. Both myself and this college friend of his TRUSTED him and he ABUSED us. It disgusts me we live in a society that’s so terrified of a man getting cut down by their own disgusting depravity that we turn a blind eye to this bullshit. Trigger warning- rape My garbage ex forced himself on me when I was sick with bronchitis and walking pneumonia (was not yet diagnosed but was feeling very ill and was contagious) and had made it clear I didn’t want us sleeping in the same bed let alone kissing or having sex(we were on vacation) I woke up first to him jerking off and tried to not freak out and pretended it wasn’t happening because at least he wasn’t involving me. Ugh, as a former pickme libfem this is sadly the answer. I never would shame a person for their boundaries but I kind of always just assumed we were all in this boat if we didn’t get married to our first LTR. I was in a casual sexual relationship, where I dated other guys on the side, for almost two years. I literally thought one day he’d wake up and want to be with me exclusively and forever. This never happened and the non explicit rejection was just death by a million little cuts. We got toge…

My ex told me about his vasectomy the same week he got it, 2 years into our relationship. He said he did it because he was going to lose his health insurance due to quitting his job and wanted to get it done before it ran out. I often talked about wanting children and he always led me to believe that was something we shared and it absolutely gutted me he didn’t discuss it with me beforehand. I’ve been on to this sub for a few months and this is the first I’m hearing of this “rule”. I find it very funny they’re latching on to it for 1) as you said these are not wildly unrealistic standards and 2) women have been objectified and reduced to numbers for probably as long as numbers have existed. Everyone knows exactly what it means to say 36/24/36. Men have such hard ons for perpetuating double standards. Ridiculous.

100% this! A short story of my own... After years of OLD LVMs I moved to a new city over a thousand miles away where I have no friends or family. Not long after I attended a party thrown by a coworker (of high standing at the company) where I met a man and, strangely enough, his parents. (I come from a broken home and have estranged relationships in my immediate and extended family so it was refreshing to see such a supportive and engaged family.) On my way out of the party I was approached by t…
