You are just being disingenuous. You are attempting to decredibilize your opponent by making it seem like they do not care / do not find issue with the matters you listed because the logic of their argument can be used to oppose said matter while they are not even the subject of the discussion.

The actual thing that woman are attracted to would actually be a "Gentle Demon", i.e., a man able to do both great good and great evil, or, more specifically, a man that will use his actualized potential for evil to do good. Such a man is by itself rare, which lead to two possible strategies: Bringing out the good out of an evil man. Bringing out the evil out a good man. The first strategy is the archetypal romance story (Beauty and the Beast). The second one is not an actual option. You can app…

There is not, it was an euphemism. "Acting like a girl." is, according to you "What I consider to be "Acting like a girl.".". Using an argument of authority, which are weak by design, with yourself being the authority, is the paroxysm of arrogance.

Men can't hold women accountable for their actions because they can't escalate conflict with women. Men understand the physical threat they can pose to each other, and thus can hold each other accountable, because they understand the escalation of threat that will happen if they do not stop the behaviour that got them called out in the first place. Escalating the conflict to the physical punishment is not an allowed strategy for men to punish women, which mean that men cannot hold women accounta…

While there is a variety among aesthetical preferences in men's tastes for the female body, the common pragmatic preference is the body type we can touch.

Yeah, you are right, women are not less competitive. However, from what I have seen/read, women make a much clearer distinction between "competition" and "cooperation" as well being less able to make a distinction between "competition" and "conflict".
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/23 07:13 AM

So, a few things to clarify here. "Ambition" does not mean having a 9-5 job that requires some form of diploma and/or formation. "Ambition" means being ready to dedicate an inordinate amount of time and effort for Statut, Money or even simply the sake of it. Your husband and yourself, by your own account, are not "Ambitious", you are intelligently lazy. You want to optimize the way you work now to limit the amount of work you will have to do latter and live a peaceful and calm life, the very ant…

When two people are right for one another they will be kind to one another. No. Sometimes, you suck. Sometimes, your partner will suck. Any of you must called out when it happens and there is no nice way to tell someone they suck. A study that I am not able to put my hands on right now showed that both excess and lack of conflicts would lead to a couple splitting off. You should constantly be trying to "win over" your partner. Anything else will lead to complacency. And you should be hard on the…

Jealousy is acceptable if it does not become an obsession. Thrust can never be blind. Asking where your partner is or has been in the last five minutes and who they have been talking to is clearly unhealthy. Being suspicious of their new hot coworker of their desirable sex that they have spent a questionable amount of time with and can't stop talking about is another problem. You should be suspicious and act on those suspicions, in that case, to prevent a no-return point. If there are issues wit…

I do not agree with OP's argument, I am explaining it. You are being disingenuous on two levels. I did not assume anything, see point 1. OP states explicitly the hypothesis, so it is not a unspoken assumption. Saying the hypothesis is not always correct is acknowledged, and therefore, mentioning it only serves to derail the conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/22 09:10 AM

The argument is essentially that, considering the risk of losses caused by a divorce for a man, it would be justified for a married man who is not satisfied by his relationship to cheat in order to not deal with said losses.

No. "Dominant" John is not described as "dominant", but as a bullying, manipulative tyrant. The "Dominant" and "Non-dominant" texts were both written by people that have no clue about what the word actually means.

Pointless retort. If your goal is to have a long term successful relationship, it is not casual dating anymore.

I will certainly agree that a subset of the people exaggerate and/or misunderstand the concept of the wall and will attempt to clarify. Essentially, for women, starting roughly at 30 (give or take, depending on how nature has blessed you), the subset of men that will be attracted to you will start to decrease, and so at a higher speed than men. It is NOT a sudden "Congrats, you are now ugly" life changing event.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/22 11:02 AM
2

It is, because, from your point of view, the nature of casual sexual intercourse should be the same for men and women. The fact is, it is not because women are the ones that have most of the power to decide when sex happens. For a woman, there are NO benefits to accept casual sex. It proves nothing, achieves nothing, is a great risk on multiple levels. For a man, while it also carries risks to have sex, even if to a lesser extent, it still provides a sense of validation. You got chosen when most…

There are a lot of things to say about your questions, I can only give a few starting points. To celebrate Feminity, we would need first and foremost to agree on what it is and to define it. No one can fulfill an undefined expectation and, conversely, you can't judge someone on an undefined criteria. The current situation we are in forbids us to define things as it is considered a tyrannical thing to do. Our current societal paradigm looks down upon qualitative work in favour of quantitative wor…

It is less about individual survivability and more about group survivability. We want the best of us to make the best use of their talent to allow the group/society to thrive. Imagine the opposite : a world in which we would actively crush anyone and everyone that would display any ounce of greatness. It is easy to see why.

N.B.: The following argument will be made with the supposition that contraceptives are a fairly recent invention. If men are strong to provide for offspring then why are they "biologically programmed" to spread their seed far and wide with tons of women? Who has the best strategy to get offsprings ? The guy who fuck any and every women he meets, or the guy that dedicates all of its time to one woman ? Quite obviously the first one. When this behaviour is aggregated on a whole population, it will…

One of the reason that makes women looks more complex is that, in our current cultural context, we seem to have a severe issue with the idea of determining "what a woman is (by opposition to a little girl)", "what a woman should be" or "what a woman should do", etc. In this context, surprise, surprise, the thing you are not allowed to define become complex, for both women and men.

Sex itself is not degrading for women. It is though certainly more dangerous for a woman to save sex than it is for a man. A woman essentially uses a set of conditions to determine if she will have sex with a man or not. Women should be keeping that set of conditions cohesive at all times comes because it constitutes a proof of good faith when they seek out a relationship. If their set of condition changes or is too lax, it does not devalue them as human being, but it devalue their ability to pr…

I don't think what you are saying is completely false, but I think you are missing an important component here. The reason why a woman should not have sex outside of a committed relationship when she wants one is because she needs to obtain a "proof of good faith" from the man she is seeing, she needs to know that he won't disappear when they have kids. For men, sex is the "proof of good faith from women, considering the amount of risk sex can represent for them. If a woman changes what she is r…

You are right. "Sex is inconsequential" is the result of the invention of most of our contraceptives and of the sexual revolution that ensued. But it is more of an experiment that something that will last for long. It is essentially a big cognitive dissonance shared on a cultural level that won't go away until reality catches up to us.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/22 07:11 PM
1

No. I grant you the fact that women do not get the way they should use sex, but your suggestion is arguably a worse option. Women can and should use sex to prove their good faith in a relationship, but, for men, their good faith is tested when they actually don't get sex. Is that situation fully in the hand of women ? Yes, but there is no better system.

I don't blame you for thinking that, because, from what I can infer, you are a woman. Allow me a few hypothesis: If a woman was to fell in love with a man, she would want that man to be someone worthy of respect and adoration. You see men seemingly "attracted" to men that they would think are worthy of respect and adoration and thus deduce it must be romantic attraction. Here is the thing: the way men and women build their intrasexual hierachies are different, but the way the hierachies of men i…

It is not simply corny, it is actually contradictory. "Taking someone as they come" means essentially that you will treat everyone the same way. "Treating someone as an individual" means that you are actively judging the people in front of you to determine how you should treat them. Unless you had a different definition for one or both statement, what you are saying is contradictory.

It is a problem of understanding. We live in a society where the idea of "structure" is directly linked to the idea of "tyranny", rightfully so, but extremly so. Structures all contain a tyranical element, there is no way around it, but that does not mean they are absolutely and completely tyranical. To maintain a structure, you need to regularly update it so that its tyranical element stay tamed, hence my comparaison with a garden, which, if not tended to, will become chaos itself.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/22 02:22 PM

I would be interested in knowing in which circumstances structures are not desirable. If you mean that some exceptional people are not made to function within the confines of a structures, well, I'll certainly give you that. I don't think the correct question is "how ?". We all know how to make a gift, say thanks or smile to someone else. It is not rocket science, really. I think "when ?" is where trouble is mostly had. The most global way I could put it is acknowledge the fact that things working is not the natural state of being. There is an inordinate amount of possibilities for things to go really wrong, really fast, and they don't, because a lot of people are working to that purpose. The world is a garden, not …

Simply that the types of work and efforts each person is best suited for are different and that thinking that having only one acceptable path for half the population won’t lead to massive misery is just silly. Listen, I will give you that: we all are unique. It does not mean we are special. We are at a time when the very concepts of order and structures are frowned upon. "Tradition" has a negative connotation. The issue here is that humans need structure, but we are actually taught that the stru…

No. It is the same as porn, really. It looks like it could help to solve the problem, but actually, it makes the whole articulation of the problem harder. If all men wanted was sex, masturbation would do the trick, the wide availability of pornographic content would do the trick. But we know by now that they don't. Prostitution would not solve it either.

So, N-count is a measurement, and I do not think it represents well the thing it strives to observe. Specifically, it needs to be completed by the average length of the relationships in question. Five relationships that lasted on average 2 years will look a lot better than if they lasted 2 months. Concretely though, giving you an exact number is pointless, you still need to enact proper judgement. Fundamuntally, it is bullshit to have such requirements for a casual fling. The tacit aggreement of…

You see, there are two premices that are always true: A cooperative system (that we call society, culture, etc.) needs to be established to be able to confront and minimize the suffering of existence. A cooperative system always has a tyranical element, because it will set up expectations upon its members and will reward or punish them accordingly. The pragmatic execution of cooperative systems is almost always done by men (under the supervision of women). Since the good participation of a man t…

In the context of this sentence, "one" refers to "player", not "submissive", i.e., women are taught that being nice to men is demeaning. If you want any semblance of a genuine relationship, you will have to.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/22 07:05 PM
12

Oh no, I took the SM example because I think it illustrates well the wrong preconceptions we can have about what "domination" and "submissiveness" entails, but it does not have to be sexual at all. As a non-sexual and more trivial example: a man is holding a door for you. It is a game. A short game, lasting only a few second, and you play by deciding how to react. You can either thank him and/or smile to him, or tell him you could have done that yourself, or anything in between. Depending on you…

"Submission" is a word that cannot be fully understood nowadays, because relationships are mostly conceptualized as being about power dynamics, and only in a tyranical mode. Let's analyze a theorical healthy SM relationship, for example. You got a dominant, and you got a submissive. They have different sessions where the dominant tease, humiliate, inflict pain on the submissive. Now, a question: who is in control, here ? You may be tempted to think the dominant, because they are the one acting, …

Concerning your second point, I will allow myself to clarify: A lot of men are simply unable to articulate that need properly. It is easier to think we want sex, because it is a visceral need that we can easily feel, and thus we are more easily aware of it, but if sexual release was all we wanted, masturbation, sex dolls and prostitutes would actually do the trick. They don't.

Meaning is the wrong word. It is a inevitability. The key element of natural selection will sounds like a truism, but "What reproduces, reproduces, what doesn't, doesn't". Thus, of course, male that wanted to reproduce did what they had to to do so, and did such since the beginning of our species, and most likely since before. So, yeah, men want to have sex. Biologically, it is impossible for men to want children in the same way as women do, because, well, how could we ? The only thing we can wa…

If looks become a non-factor, other factors would be used to compete. For men, it would not change much, because we already compete on other aspects. For women, on the other hand, it would make things worse. It is no secret that a lot of women base their self-esteem on their looks and ability to attract a mate, and that it is their main tools to do so. If you remove the ability to compete on that plan, what will be left ? Well, their worst intrasexual competition mechanisms, I.E., rumors and rep…

The fact that we are able to function the way into each other's hierachies is not self evident, despite what you could be tempted to believe. You are perfectly right about your assertion, in that the jobs you mentioned are effectively more commonly done by women are that such jobs are quite important. If I may, the issue is not about standards themselves, but the way people not meeting them are treated. I can, as a man, not meet the standards of X or Y woman, and as such, not be considered a potential mate by her, BUT it does not grant the right to X or Y woman to treat me with excessive cruelty, contempt and/or condescension, which arguably a problem met by a significant amount of not traditionaly masculine men.

I mean, it is the matter of which people are attracted by both group. They are resentful towards the opposite gender, but the stakes of the game are too important to admit that you are losing. Because, since the late 18th century, we shifted the way we were thinking, becoming more pragmatic. The little issue that this paradigm brought is that it can't take into account things such as meaning, which means that we end up preferring pursuing quick gratifications and rather than meaningfulness. What you are pointing out is how dating is affected by this.

No. You see, sexual desire is the easy part to articulate of what men actually want: recognition. The fact that a woman is meant to signify that she acknowledge as something worth carrying into the future (through reproduction). I believe that men and women have different incentives when picking a partner, that, when all is taken into account, they actually will be drawn towards people from the same socio-economic background, but the uglier incentive, like hypergamy and physical attractiveness are overblown on this sub.

It is a complicate relationship. On one hand, yes, men want sex, at this point, it is established. On the other hand, men also want to have a genuine relationship with a woman. If that was not the case, the high amount of available instant sexual gratifications (like porn, prostitutes, etc.) would have destroyed relationships, period. The reason for "Why a woman?" is that, you are the harshest judge of men (bare your sons). When you accept a man, it means something to him. It is the same princip…

A sexually prudish society is a society that increases the conditions required to have sex. It won't affect the intensity of the competition, but rather, the quality of its participants. One of the problem we have right now is the illusion that sex is something unconsequential and dangerless, and, as such, that it should be easy to come by. For men, it is an issue, because it removes the main incentive for self improvement. A prudish society would canalyse our sexual desires towards self-improve…

Basically, the sexual liberation movement hijacked back when feminism was more pertinent than it is now, in the sixties IIRC. Why the women thought it was a good idea is a mystery, I guess they thought the restrictions socially put on female sexuality were senseless, rightfully so or not.

You are wrong on a quite a few things here. I think it's entirely environmental/social. Starts with kids spending the majority of their young childhoods with their mother...who to a dependent and still developing mind in a body that's 2 ft tall, Mom may as well be a "goddess of judgment". A "Goddess", sure, that can be argued. The image of their mother is something that will be holy for a lot of sons. But "of Judgement" ? No. Mothers, in most common cases, will show unconditional love towards th…

So, both are important, but I will attempt to explain why being treated fairly compared to a woman's exes is important, because this is the essential part of the question, I believe. The fundamental reason is that women are the judges of men, both in a natural and cultural way. Women judges men on every levels and chooses the best among her availables choices to be her partner. Women then adapts their behaviour to get and keep their choice. While not all men would be able or willing to articulat…

The point is not that she would be a victim, the point is that women were seen as having no agency. No agency = No responsabilities = Their circumstances is not their own fault. As you say, being a single mom =/= being a victim. But, being a single AND having agency means there is a likelyhood you messed up somewhere. You were too naive about your partner or perhaps you even were the direct cause of the break-up. If course, it may not be the case, said partner could have died in some accident, b…

While I do understand that other cultures have developped different internal strategies to manage their sexual behaviour, we are in a culture that used the Abrahamic sexual views. Cultures are nested into nature. In the case of Amazonian cultures, it is easy to see why such behaviour are possible. One of the thing that always strikes me as odd with AF/BB is that women were much more dependant on their reputation for their survival, which made promiscuity a terrible strategy both for herself and her offspring. While promiscuity can help guarantee the existence of an offspring, it would certainly lead to trouble regarding the quality of their life: i.e., men usually not wanting to support children not from them, and other women not liking promiscuity very much either, being the gender more …

There are essentially two types of narrative: aventure and romance. Considering the higher attraction of women towards the later relative to their male counterpart. Considering so, it would seem that the archetypal romance would give us the answer, and thus the archetypal romance heroine be such a power fantasy. The closest thing that comes to mind for an archetypal romance story would the Beauty and the Beast story and thus its heroine would be the closest thing to a female power fantasy.

Sure, but consider the following : the role of the private sphere is to be a place of respite for the ones confronting the world and a place of caring for the ones not yet able to confront it. Empathy and sensitivity are useful when used towards the latter to gradually expose them so that they can become able to confront when their turn comes. The thing is, to confront the world, you need to be able to see as it is. You need to see the world as it is actually, not as you want to see it. The exce…

In the specific domain of relationships between sex and the difference of treatment between male and female transgressions, I may have a theory, for all that is worth. The reason why men are more easily forgiven is these kinds of situations is simply because male sex-drive is the main fuel of civilisation. Specifically our desire towards is the main that makes us want to improve and challenge ourselves. It would be like sawing the branch you are sitting on. For women, pressuring them to control …

The concept of Independence is one of the greatest lie of our current world, and the fact that no one is questioning it is deplorable. You are not, were not, and probably never will be, independent. Everything you own, everything you eat, everything you can do as a hobby, is possible because of others. The goal of the game is not to become Independent. The goal is to become someone people can depend on. Of course, it implies that you should choose carefully both which people you want to depend o…

It applies to both, since both genders uses hierarchies, but the difference is that male do not care about the place of a woman in her gender hierarchy, while the male hierarchy is designed as a form of partial outsourcing for women to help them see which men would be the best partner.

Why are so many people looking for a way to codify human interactions on here!? Because human beings crave order and structure, since they are things we can use with mininal thoughts process. There is no formula. Yes, but we could definitely try to at least define guidelines. The difference Between women and men is immaterial and irrelevant!* It varies across culture, is rooted in our own inconsistent biology, it’s socially constructed, and it’s flexible: ever-changing. If you see, the human has a little default : we are heavily geared towards negativity. If there are even remotely considered negative things to be mentionned, these things will be mentionned. On the Internet even more so, since people can vent consequences free. You are right, developping strong bonds with other people is a solution as well. I was answering the specific plea of OP. If you are able to form and maintain a community that becomes able to make a positive impact on the world, sure, it has meaning as well. Family is such a kind of community, or, at least, it is what it should be.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/21 02:29 PM

It would depend exactly on how they live their live. If they are helping their communities, however they can, and try to improve the life of others, then yes, they also have meaning.

With the exception of volunteering and going to church, everything you mentionned is at the same time materialist and self-centered. These won't bring you meaning, they won't impact your life in any way. Regarding the other two, if you go to church or go volunteering as if you went to the bar, there is no meaning in that. Improving oneself and suffering to make the life of people around you better can give you meaning. Family is just the most evident way of doing that.

Well, there is a little funny thing that, considering most people on this subreddit are between 15 and 35 years, roughly, most people here tend to forget : you will probably live up to 80 years. The direct consequence of living without family is the guarantee of dying alone. You will be able to enjoy a "pleasant" life, but you will end up rensenting the lack of meaning in it. This is not something I would wish to anyone.

I understand where your issue is. He has actually been called out on that a few times, and I think it is worth clarification. The correct dichotomy he uses is actually this : Being driven towards nothing (Nihilism) Being driven towards the Good. Your question is deceitful. The actual question is : would the average individuality traits and perks of women be better than the ones of men if used mainly in a leadership context in their stead ? The answer to that is no. The traits of a good leader are more likely to manifest in males. Based on the OCEAN personnality model, Agreability must be low to be a capable leader, because this trait is what includes the willingness of someone to enter upfront conflict. And in general, well, women suck …

I am not talking about general attraction. I am talking about the ability to enhance through different means their sexual power and use it over men, as in the examples of OP's first paragraph. Your fourth paragraph is irrelevant. Yes, they can, that does not mean they should, but if you dare to call out a woman on that, you will be slut-shaming her. I mean, let us think about it for a second : what makes rape disgusting ? It is not the lack of consent of the victim. What makes rape disgusting is the fact that it is a form of power abuse that removes its dignity from a human being. Of course, Robert Long was a fringe case, and he was absolutely not right in his reaction, I agree on that. But the point of the first paragraph still stands. Women can freely use their sexual power over men, and some do abuse it for their own gain. The fact that …

I listened to him enough to answer that question. Basically, the point of Peterson is that you cannot be moral if you do not have faith in a principle of good, that principle of good is God. His point is that, if you act while being driven towards the good, you believe in this principle, and thus believe in God.

Without the notion of quality, which we have sacrificed on the altar of tolerance, humans relationships become purely transactionnal. If you want relationships not to be about control, you need to recognize the individual moral value of other people and your desire to be with such people and to simply strive to be someone better. You need to think about what you can give, not what you can take from people.

While nurturing behaviour is generally associated with femininity, in your particular example, it is not. You found a child cute. If you think about, typical children characteristics are what defines cuteness, not the other way around, and we probably evolved that way to make our children actually tolerable, because, while we do tend to love them, let us be honest, they are chores. So being driven towards non-aggressive behaviour in the presence of children is actually quite normal, irrelevant o…

One of the thing that would go in that direction is that women uses pre-selection as one of their mean of judging a man as a potential mate. Pre-selection is the act of selecting a mate that has already been chosen by other selectors (here, women).

You do understand that women were the ones that pushed men to organize society in such a way and did so quite willingly. If you do not, consider the two following facts : The ability (not the right, the ability) for women to compete within the same domains as men on the same level is recent. Being a mother is worth a full-time job in terms of time spending.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/21 10:48 PM

Yes, but reproduction has been that influencial on our species. Women have chosen men so that now, quite a lot are actually interested in getting involved with their children. Considering the pros and cons of this and its alternative for men, it is actually a miracle that any stays at all. Heck, the whole tendency towards competition of men is at its base a mean of outsourcing part of the process of choosing a mate for women.

It is not necessarly a bad thing, though. I mean, the pickiness of women is essentially what allowed our civilisation to become what it is now. But some are getting the shorthand of the stick, and there is nothing we can do here.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/21 10:05 PM

That is what the choices women make implies, yes. Women are the more picky choosers in term of partner selection, therefore, they have been and still are one of the significant actor of the natural selection among human beings. Let us not sugarcoat it : rejecting the sexual advances of someone is equivalent to denying the meaning of their existence.
