Having surgery on a child that has a condition that needs to be treated is a completely different ball game then having a cosmetic surgery like this one. You said that with an appendix removal of it had burst. That is a life threatening condition that the doctor can overrule the parent. Consent is not the issue when it comes to the positives outweigh the negatives. I'm in the UK (Pharmacist) and we are trained to 'spot' signs of FGM but it is never mentioned about MGM and I have been reprimanded for refusing to give anesthetic cream so that they can do MGM. (Bare in mind, in the UK, a pharmacist can refuse to give something such as the morning after pill (Plan B in the US) due to their religious beliefs)

That is a completely different procedure. Male genital mutilation has no benefits what so ever. Preventative tonsillectomies (at least in my country, the UK) have vastly reduced as it has been shown that sometimes they can cause more harm in later life then good. In some cases they are needed but there is a strict guideline as to who can and can't have it. That would be true but under section one, person A is referred to as being male A person (A) commits an offence if— (a)he intentionally causes another person (B) to engage in an activity, specifaclly states that they are male and the wording in section 4 is that A person is refering to the person in section 1, not just any person/s. If it was refering to any person/s, it would say so, not just A person

Thats partly because of things like lengthened maternity leave (and longer paternity leave), more womens' rights (as in protected) and i dont mean the SJW ones. so yeh they have a lot to gain from remaining.
