Around half of transgender people attempt or commit suicide too, over ten times the rate of the general population. That certainly strikes me as mental illness. I've heard some people claim that this is merely evidence that they're not "accepted" in society and life is tough for them etc., but if that were the case surely black people in America would attempt suicide at a higher rate than white people give their relatively lower quality of life as a group. That's not the case though.

I'm Irish but I live in Bangkok. There are plenty of fatsos in Thailand but they are quietly shamed. Fat as an adjective is used the way we say someone is tall or friendly or muscular back home. "You're fat" is used only to hurt someone's feelings in the West, which is a pity, because it has value as an honest statement of appearance.

I don't doubt she loved him, and I actually feel kind of sorry for her. All her sexual life she's been treated like a princess by a clearly very nice kid, but biology kicked in and she needed to submit herself to alpha behavior at some point.
