Abuse in relationships is caused by one simple thing. Not knowing how to control they way they react to external stress. We can't tell somebody to react differently, we need to teach them how to react properly from a young age. "Don;t hit girls" doesn't solve anything because it tries to solve the end result, not the cause. "Don't hit girls" is wasted breath that could be spent on better things. How do we teach this? I have no fucking clue and neither do they, so "Don't Hit Girls!!" :)

The issue is that by ignoring HALF of the problem, the problem will NEVER be solved. Violence begets violence, abuse begets abuse. If I hold my tongue and control my anger and rage in a relationships, how much good is that actually going to do if the other 50% or the relationship can't do the same? If 50% is not abusive but the other 50% is abusive then it is still an abusive relationship and the problem is not solved.
