This is not what modern society is like. It's how that one person is like. And in spite of growing populations, individuals act like this with decreasing frequency. Modern society, materialistic in or not, is nicer, more peaceful than societies of the past. We just see outliers more often due to the proliferation of camera use.

I admit I have some compulsions, but this has always been standard for me. Whole family does it, and almost all dog owners I know (from Hungary). My American friends of course don't worry about this as they don't take their shoes off inside.

I think the floor material is also an important detail. A fully tiled house is a lot easier to keep clean. The real horror is when people have carpet or rugs in their house, and still walk around with shoes on.

The issue stems from the fact that fresh produce, especially short shelf life ones like cherries and blueberries, must be packaged the day they're picked. I just know how his foreign policy affected rural life on the west coast. I don't that all advertisements are directed toward women, and I don't even think almost all are. The vast majority? Neither of his links provoded any info that supports his claim that all advertisements are geard towards women. I tried to find a source with actual numbers that shows percentages of gender specific ads, but couldn’t find one after a few minutes. This is what I came here to say. Treating others as equals is one thing, but hitting someone over words is another. She is a shitty human being, but he is the one who deserves to go to jail for this. And the worst part is that this most likely just reinforced her in her believes, and she's gonna get on with her life thinking she had the moral high ground.
