Haven't been here in awhile - I thought FDS looked too "dead" with the infrequent posts, and didn't realize there was stuff going on elsewhere. The other website doesn't look too bad but keep in mind that I just looked at it for the first time. Other women's comments here may have merit.

I would ask those pickmes point blank "Yeah but admit it, if you had a choice, you'd be kinda happier if your man did something special for you, wouldn't you?"

I wish I knew what the parents were thinking when they OK'd all this (the relationship). His eyes indeed appear off. There's almost always something off in a killer's eyes.

no offense but Brit men are fugly Is there any nationality of men that is not fugly? I'm really starting to wonder. Maybe it Latin America but that's its own problem (the machismo culture).

Thank you; I don't see why it wouldn't look good; I have brown hair, brown eyes, light but not pale skin, neutral complexion. The problem I've faced with red lipstick is that it "pink -ifies" on me. The red doesn't stay pure red, which I find irritating.

I don't know if anyone will read this comment but I will say it anyway. Some of my thoughts and behaviors seem kind of out of character for me. I have been on a medication for several months and I think it has increased my libido. Most people welcome this side effect, but for me it's terrible. Not only has it increased but I feel like my morals are not the same. I am weaning off of it but scared of withdrawal. I'm tired of feeling like I could hump something all day long. It's too distracting. I…

As I said in a comment somewhere, I do dress modestly on the outside. I don't want men looking at me like a piece of meat. I used to be so jealous of women who received that look and I would even be suicidal about it. But I realized it's not the women who were the problem, it's the men who were causing my self-esteem to implode.

It's a lot less stressful to just dress for yourself. Whatever "yourself" means to a particular individual.

I can't count how many times I've wanted to wear red lipstick even though that stupid thing in my head goes "men think it's stupid." Why should I GAF. Sometimes I think I look weird in it too, but that should be the only reason I don't wear it (and I may be wrong in how I think I look in it). Men lie when they say they want natural. I don't believe it for a second - - they will "Like" or "Love" a pic of a hot chick on FB who has the right "face" put on - the eyeshadow, lipstick nine yards.

I'm not interested in romantic relationships with women, but sometimes I think I've looked at women in ways that made me question if I was totally straight.

I want to give up dating too, or at least the concept of it. I live in such a pickme culture on my dad's side; marriage is the pinnacle of life for those people, and it's considered a failure in life if a woman never gets a man. I keep trying to fight the negative vibes that his side gives off. It's very toxic.

Also, a man who respects you won't check other women out in front of you and will consistently make you feel like the MOST attractive woman in the world. I've lived it and they are definitely out there, so do not settle for bs. Thank you, I needed to see this.

If it's not better for you, then return them and spend your hard-earned money on things that make you happy instead. Women as a class spend too much of their lives working to make themselves more enjoyable to others. Good point. I need to think about this very carefully.

I wear modest external clothing (for example, I try to cover my booty, wear demure necklines and not show cleavage), not because of self-righteousness but because men are perverts and I don't want to excite their perversions. As far as provocative stuff I was referring to the underwear but I'm not sure I want them anymore. They do make me feel better about myself even though they're a tad form-fitting. But I have a weird body such that my pooch is below my waist, which makes things like hipster …

Heck, I would NOT have one iota of patience to stay with a man like that for any minute longer. The requests he made are gawdawful. How do I even start. Wanting you to cut your hair? That's ironic, most men like their women's hair long (not that they should dictate that either) Replacing shoes? Why should he care? Using the term "40 year old woman" as a pejorative? Wow, he's not going to be able to handle his future wife (God help her) getting older. About women needing to stay tiny, I would lov…

My brother is 47 and he consistently tries to dress as if he's 25 and actually believes he can look 25 if he tries hard enough - I can only think of one reason why he's delusional enough to believe all this - he probably wants to look for women in their 20s and lie about his age too.

I might be going through a "love at first sight" situation right now. I always thought it was absurd until it happened to me, but the man is not available for certain reasons. There isn't a chance he will become available either, for reasons I don't want to get into. I really don't believe it's just a crush. I knew some stuff about him before I met him though. The problem is, that when these kinds of situations arise, all logic goes out the window. I'm in a lot of pain because of it. I want to b…

I suppose there's nothing stopping a man from being a dickhead after he marries. Many times they do a 180 after marrying. This world sucks no matter what you do. I think the man loses more if he divorces though - he has to split assets, pay alimony etc but without marriage he can just leave without being punished a single cent.

OK this is exactly why a part of me believes that I'm not marriage-and-kids material, even though at heart I am a loving and nurturing woman who could have been a good mother and wife if I got the chance. I can't deal with this kind of life, pre- or post-sickness.

I don't want to be an outcast in this thread by what I'm about to say but this is why I am afraid to have sex before marriage. I don't want to take a chance ending up in a situation like this. I don't even need religious reasons for it.

Seriously this would probably be the worst and most difficult part of a relationship. I just can't wear typical lingerie for a man because my gut is weird shaped. I call it a double bubble where I got a fat roll both under and over the waist, making it impossible to look halfway normal in 2-piece underwear. I dread the thought of a man seeing it. Lingerie is so much a trigger for me that I never overcame.

I can relate to this. My dad's side is from another culture, but I relate to my mom more. I don't like my dad's culture. It's just fine for them to find an American to marry, in order to get citizenship. It's not considered cheating for the men to get a second wife if the first wife can't bear children. I hate that I was ever born into this situation, and many times I wish I weren't born period. I wish I had relatives from my mom's side to talk to, but I don't.

I don't understand how men are like that. They get obsessed with a woman and act like they can't live without a particular woman but how can that be true when there's always another woman he'll be checking out even on the same day?

This reminds me of the man my dad has come over on occasion to do repair work. I feel so uncomfortable around him, he's always smiling and uber-friendly and asked if we were friends, even though we hardly interact. My dad hasn't brought him up since the last repair session, and I still have to prepare myself on how to tell my dad that I don't want him here, but I don't think my dad will listen somehow, because the man gives off no indication to my dad that he's a shady person. Whenever I even see two guys together in public, I get freaked out and hurry the opposite direction I remember putting my groceries away (at night) in the car and in the next aisle were two rugged men putting groceries in their own car. I don't understand why it's "wrong" to ghost someone if you think you feel unsafe in the relationship with them. It's not like they're going to thank you for letting them know. It's supposedly an unpopular thing to ghost someone; I think it can be absolutely necessary.

I hope someone sees this comment. One thing that I am worried about with telling my dad, he could use this to try to convince me that I should be married, in order that no repairman comes to my home when I am by myself. I get that my dad loves me, but being married can pose its own problems for me. I'm actually a grown woman, but I stay at that house to take care of my mom who is in in-home hospice for dementia. I've been taking care of her for awhile. Even as a grown woman, I am not comfortable around him. My dad doesn't seem to think he's a bad guy, but then again I didn't tell my dad of this incident (yet).

I usually do a good job of avoiding him. Sometimes I have to come out into the kitchen to get some food, but I try to do that ahead of time and bring it to my room, but every now and then, I can't be perfect in that. My dad wants him to wash the walls sometime, but that would be a big and lengthy project, and I wouldn't know how to avoid him in this case. I suppose I could go out to the store during that time, but I only go to the store like once or twice a week.

I saw something like this in the grocery store parking lot. The man started fighting with his woman while they were loading groceries in the trunk. His voice started getting a little louder and with increasing profanities. They eventually went into the car and even through the closed windows I heard him scream at the top of his lungs at her. She pulled down the window (presumably for air, it was during the summer) and I heard her scream at the top of her lungs back at him. It was scary. I though…

As much as I struggle finding ANY man attractive, and as much as I am open to having to stay single forever because of this, I still feel a sense of emptiness about staying single forever. Something about it really hurts. I don't know how to make peace with this. I am not sure I'll ever totally be OK with being single, but I see the struggles of people in relationships and I don't like the idea of taking that risk.
