Out of curiosity, is your relationship stale because you are busy being a doctor or because you are a faggot? Both. Other doctors don't have shit relationships like me. I might not be relationship material. I have no idea what I'm doing once I get them.

Again, what's missing from this is acknowledgement that things change as we age, and a discussion on how they change. This advice is going to be completely different for a 22 year old vs a 3 year old. Completely. I would never advocate a 22 year old do anything BUT spin plates.

This tenet of TRP "it's just your turn" is the one thing I disagree with, despite agreeing with all the behavioral aspects that flow from it. And I disagree with it on purely evidenced-based terms. Don't mate guard, don't go crazy, basically everything in the post I agree with except for the central dogma. Many women above a certain age aren't going to outright cheat or branch swing if you have your ducks in a row in terms of manhood. When I say many, I generally think of something like 25% who …

Guys, guys. This has bad news bears written all over it. You have no idea who this guy or who you are supporting. Yes, we know this happens very often, but that is not enough for you to assume anyone who claims this kind of innocence is actually innocent. And for fuck's sake, he posted the legal document with BOTH their names on THE INTERNET. To what a lot of people are calling a HATE SITE. Do you think this dude has awesome judgement? I sure as hell don't.

That's because Joe fucking College owns this place. College kids have a lot of time and little to no money. So what can they do...go to the gym. You wanna talk about solipsism, look at any college kid. Cognitive dissonance too. Want to know the reason guys get fat in their 30s? Testosterone doesn't explain it all. It's because they don't know what to fucking do with themselves now that they have a demanding schedule. God forbid you get up at 5am with the express purpose of spending 90 minutes at…

I think that much is common sense for anyone who read the post. Pretty simple shit, man. You have two metrics, looks and money. Rate each on a 1-10 scale and add them together. There's your SMV. If you're a 5 in looks but a 9 in money (14), you get beat by the 5 in looks and 10 in money (15), or the 6 in looks and 9 in money (15). It's not rocket science.

You're the voice of reason here and you're getting downvoted because idiots rule the world. I disagree with you on one point: he will absolutely have no trouble getting laid. However I agree with you in that if you object to the notion of alimony, then you must reject it in all forms, even when it benefits someone you like. Taking advantage of a corrupt system for your own gain doesn't make a statement against that system. This doesn't help end alimony. It keeps it going. People here are just li…

Yeah, it's you. This post is an excellent example of the stupidity of some members in this sub. I'm not talking about stupidity as in not knowing some fact, I mean literally not being able to put two different pieces of information together. Do you support the notion of alimony? Forget if it's a man or woman. Do you or do you not? No? Then you must be against a man getting alimony as well. Period. If the first part is true then so must the second part be, otherwise you just failed basic logic. H…

In America, sildenafil and the other PDE inhibitors are not suggested by ANY guidelines for the management of blood pressure. Doctors can do whatever they want, but if a lawsuit comes down on you, you need guidelines to fall behind. Thiazides, loop diuretics, ace inhibitors, beta blockers. These are the mainstays of treatment for blood pressure in America. So I would disagree with you, your friend, AND her doctor. Compared to the first-line meds, it is not a "very" good med for blood pressure.

I used to be all about squats before I hurt my lower back. Now deadlifts are my go-to. On days when I have that back pain, deads actually fix it. Everything people are saying is true. Best exercise for posture, best for a wide back and broad shoulders.

I will add to this something that a friend taught me. Scrape the bar against your shins as you go up and down. It almost always ensures proper form. Just make sure you wear long pants or long socks because you WILL bloody the bar if you go against skin.

Social life is fine. Remember that you've got X amount of people in the exact same situation as you and they're always looking to unwind. Very much depends on your personality. My experience has been that third and 4th year (so far) have been a blast, then again I had a gf for 1st and some of 2nd year. Just don't believe any people when they predict doom and gloom as far as time for fun. There's plenty of time.

Good move. What you experienced is the typical reaction of the typical person. There is this frustrating inability of people to think in anything but a binary way. "Oh, so it's not all about self-improvement? Well then it's not about self improvement at all!" And sadly, I find this to be more prevalent with younger people. They just haven't developed complex thinking yet, even if we don't think this is the most complex way to think.

My father died before I was born. He had some heart issues early on, a combination of the congenital defect of malformed cardiac valves and suffering from the rheumatic fever that destroyed them further as a child. By the time he was in his early 30s, he already had valve replacements and a pacemaker. That's when he died, when my mother was 6 months pregnant with me. I grew up an only child. I am close to outliving him. Two years ago I found out I had the same heart valve defect. I come from a f…

In practice, everything you said isn't very true because you're missing the realities of human interaction. Child support and visitation aren't linked and I don't think the movie acts like they are. I think the movie understands the implicit fact that the woman has the lion's share of power. By Scott paying child support, or completing whatever demands are put on him, his ex-wife will not hold him back from seeing his daughter, i.e., if he does not have visitation rights formally (and he probabl…

to me, this is nothing but white knighting. I think it would do A LOT of people around here very well to understand this single point. At one point, men really did have a lot of power. We really did have a patriarchy. But most of them were white knight types. Child support is a law credit by the white knight leaders, as is alimony. And the male judges who award alimony are the same. Of course feminism isn't doing a lot to change these handouts. But you can't blame it for their existence.

If you want your action to make a real impact, send an e-mail and let them know WHY you aren't seeing it. Responded to the wrong comment. Your response is that you don't understand what the word "supposedly" means. It means I understand that most people swallow the BS but that I myself don't take it as automatic fact.

No. This is stupid. Just let them out-ridiculous themselves, as they are. If you start putting up dummy posters it can backfire so easily because from that point on they can just blame the ridiculous stuff on us and come out looking like the rational ones. Terrible idea.

Separation is a legal process. It's not "informally taking a break." And she might be keeping it under wraps until the divorce is finalized. It doesn't make a lot of sense for her to put "separated." Why not just lie all the way and put single? And why on Earth would she let anyone see her Facebook if anything odd is supposed to be going on? You need to broaden your worldviews.

There is just no way I'm accepting any of that as good evidence. And you shouldn't either. Cuckold porn is hardly a good example. First look up confounding, then look up selection bias.

But the experiences in the real world just don't reflect this type of thing universally. Have all the cynicism you want, but at some point it's just your imagination. I have a friend who used to be EXTREMELY paranoid about his ex. I mean, remembering the stories he'd tell me, from his perspective he would describe things and I would just think to myself, "Yeah she's so cheating." I just told you I had experience with this. OP clearly doesn't know what separation means, or what the process is. If she's going to lie, why not just put single? Why have an accessible Facebook? My explanation accounts for all the facts and likelihoods of the situation. It's much better than "Woman are just evil!" I've been the other guy, just like you. Basically, you're saying, "It happens," without giving any regard to how common or uncommon it is. That's a worthless statement. When something happens 1 in a million times it's an anomaly. It doesn't demonstrate any valuable principle and doesn't widen our understanding of anything. We know that people are overwhelmingly gay from a young age. The lot of them. If someone tells you they turned gay because women were meeean, then you're the idiot that believed it.

Dude, I'm saying the military thing makes sense. When the husband is in the desert, the risk of her being caught is low. She won't lose the benefit of being with him because she won't get caught, so why not just do whatever.

Not true. It's against her best interest to go after different if she's left with nothing afterwards. Young girls do this shit because they're stupid, and because they have time to make up for it. It's like taking risks in the stock market. A young man can take greater risks with his money, and often does, because he has a lot of time to make it back if he loses. But a 65 year old man isn't going to invest half his savings in penny stocks with the hopes of becoming a billionaire. He knows that i…

No, guys. Fucking relax for a second. You've jumped to a conclusion based on your lack of experience. Separated doesn't mean divorced. In many states, being separated for a certain amount of time is a prerequisite to file for divorce. You can't expect people to be moved out instantaneously. They are probably in the process of splitting up the entire life they shared. That's going to take a while. So this isn't, "Married bitch pretends to be single to get laid." This is more, "Women on outs with …

Turns gay What. Please don't tell me you actually think this kind of experience can suddenly make a guy get hard for other guys. Newsflash genius: he was gay the entire time. Might have something to do with why he got the reactions he did from women. I don't care where you stand on the gay debate, but I know this: as little kids, there are some guys you just knew where gay. I mean like by age 11, before they were hitting puberty. This exists on a spectrum. I had one ex-girlfriend who would not give up the truth even when I told her I knew she was lying, when I had the confidence of information she did not know I had. She was the daughter of a poker player who taught her the value of a good bluff. That's what she was doing. That's the sign of a true liar; they know to never admit the truth, ever. A more recent girl, however, gives up the truth easily. All I have to do is say something like, "Ok. Quit the bullshit," and sh…

True. But the fact that we have millions of happy families worldwide seems to imply otherwise. Clearly there is something else at play here. They can't all just be cuckolded doormat husbands. And it's not about prevention. It's about taking an honest assessment and preparing well. If you don't think 80% of the guys here will end up in LTRs, you're crazy.

If a new guy needs to tell her he's LTR material to get the fuck, then you're right. But there's no way she's hamstering a one-night-stand as anything else. That's what's going on here. Also don't confuse the male hamster with the female hamster. Wanting to to fuck a bunch of people instead of be in the boring LTR is our hamster fantasy. It's like asking someone to write a poem in the format of an Intro-Methods-Results-Conclusion scientific article. You have to be a good writer to effectively produce good examples of either. You have MANY assumptions for the motivations of the "immoral." Affairs are usually more complicated than what you've painted, as are the outcomes. I fucked a married girl for 2 months. It's not "self" confidence. I should be more specific. It's confidence that women want to fuck you, and that you can have a good time regardless of what society thinks about it. Society includes you, buddy. It's the difference between a man having a bunch of predictors of sexual success vs. having the proven track record of it. If you meet an 18-20 in the proper context it is phenomenally easy to impress them with how much more of your shit you have together than anyone they're meeting. You know a lot more. You know how shit works. You have more stories. You can even bullshit better because bullshit is informed by your experiences. Oh yeah, and you have more money than college bro. Pretty much by default. Th…

I understand you want to use partner count as a proxy for marital confidence, but there is no indication that it an be accurate. There may be a 3rd variable here that is not being looked at. Some 3rd variable could affect both divorce rate and partner count, but in the end it's that 3rd variable that you want to know about. Plus this graph seems a bit odd in its gradations, and in that way doesn't give me confidence that the possible 3rd variable isn't important. Look at 3-4 partners, that's a s…

He's right to highlight the oxymoron that rears its head in this sub. This entire sub is about change. And it's not just superficial change we're here for, but honest-to-God core values outward-from-within change. To undo the programming of childhood is to take on a hugely ambitious change, and you read FRs of people inching towards that all the time.

The past is the best indicator of the future. But is it a good indicator of the future? I don't think so. It's the best of all other options, but at the end of the day the future is still nearly impossible to predict, and the other options suck worse.

Doesn't make sense. The human infant is the most defenseless baby in the animal kingdom. A woman would still need a provider around for at least a year or two. In that time, she is free to of course get pregnant again, which she would presumably want from an alpha male. That dichotomy: I need a beta to provide for my infant but I want to get pregnant again with another alpha right- it comes off as a bit to complex to be attributable to biological impulses alone.

I really don't think anything is morally wrong with what he did No, there isn't. And when you first try it and see it works, you're like awestruck at how easy it could've been this entire time. But then you start getting further into your 20s. Pulling moves like these starts getting more and more dangerous. Women still want the "takes what he wants" caveman, but now they want that caveman to be just a little more clever, a little more coy than he used to be. It might still only take 30 minutes, …

It's sad how shockingly little young men of today know about the justice system. Let me break it down for you: You are nothing but a list of provable, mundane facts in the eyes of the court. And each item on that list is concise. There is no room for you to be telling a prosecutor, "But, why would this girl f-o-l-l-o-w me in?" or similar rhetoric. What highlights how little people know about the court system is how you think people seeing you together helps you. It doesn't. It hurts you. Because…

Again, you need to work on your reading comprehension. That's the story she might tel the police. And the way he set it all up, not one damn thing protects him. If it was a knucklehead like you, you'd probably openly own it with your confidence not creepiness line, then follow it up with the "responsible person" line as a finisher. And then you'd be spending the night in jail. You're naive. You should be careful.

You're inexperienced. I'm banging a married chick now. Not only do I text her raunchy shit all the time, but the first night we got together she was ALL OVER me at a party with a bunch of her co-workers there that KNOW HER HUSBAND. Her hubs obviously wasn't there. I'm even the one that suggested she get a web-based messaging app instead of her texting, so my number wouldn't be seen on the phone bill in case he got suspicious. Women who don't typically cheat are bad at it. Plain and simple.

This is a dangerous game to play. You're asking to be labeled a rapist. Sadly, there actually is an element of coercion, intimidation (bad kind), and physical fear in your approach. If you, as a lone stranger approaching a lone girl, come on so aggressively she could easily feel she would be in danger unless she complies with your demands. And you certainly did demand. The statement "Universal truths do not exist" is purported to be a universal truth. I honestly don't know how you relativists miss this again and again. Universal/objectivity morality is the only system that is logically consistent within itself. If you claim relativity is the way to go, then you also have to say that that claim must also be relative, and that in turn unravels the whole goddamn worldview.

This cannot be overstated enough. I wish I had a better way to emphasize how spot-on every line you wrote is. I like the main idea but not the explanation. I arrived at the same conclusion long ago, but here are my thoughts on it. For any given issue, a woman is ready to get off it and move onto the next thing that's interesting. After all, a woman is a hedonist. So when you fuck up and she gets mad at you, your dwelling on it only makes you spend more time on the issue and will magnify her negative feelings about it. Absolutely incorrect. It's dumbasses who are in the position to make you look bad to other people who you are either 1.) going to have sex with or 2.) going to make money off of. Your image is one of the most valuable things you have. You need to know how they intend to attack it if you are going to be able to protect it.

Every time I see "female version of myself" it's like an alarm going off in my head. Listen to me OP and you listen good: there's no such thing as that shit. YEAH I KNOW WHAT YOU MEANT. But that fucking choice of words right there is more telling than the intended definition of the statement. Let's examine two standalone facts you presented: 1.) you think this girl is the bee's knees 2.) she has had MULTIPLE problems with guys getting attached to her. My diagnosis? This chick is a chameleon. She…

"Protect the women" is as basic as you get with the biological roots of our culture. It's not a double standard, it's a schism that exists with people around here simultaneously espousing biotruths while complaining about them when they pop up in a less-than-explicit way, such as this. The only uniting theme that makes sense of it is that they are indeed bitter about their place in society. You have surveyed a sample of minority criminals to justify your position. I would have been with this poi…

Because they are children. This is the kind of thing that TRP is excellent at explaining. By letting women blatantly talk about how they are unequivocally better than men in X arena, you are letting them win like you let your little sibling beat you in video games, even though you are better. And that's what makes it so terrible if it was the reverse situation, too. Imagine a grown man playing aggressive one-on-one basketball against a 7 year old, stealing the ball, mercilessly dunking on him, e…

Me turning them on is a necessary condition for any of it. No, they wouldn't act that way with a "creepy" guy. Someone like that wouldn't be a sufficient outlet for their slut feels. And no, they don't think I'm gay. My whole point is that to them, since I am best friends with their SO's, I may as well be gay. Have you never seen straight girls interacting with even decently handsome gay men who have an ounce of personality? It's nuts. That's how they act with me. Not because I'm gay (I'm not), …

Nah. They got kids dude. Yeah you can make the argument that it's bound to happen given her proclivities, but it certainly doesn't have to be me. I don't need to be the one who pulls the trigger that destroys that family.

We were friends before they got into their LTRs. And on the night in question, it actually was me and two of my bros who got away from their SOs to hang out. The three of us then went over a couple's place.

Methinks thou doth protest too much. Might need to do some soul searching, bud. You read the entire post from the wrong perspective. To them I get treated as a gay guy gets treated. The post has precious little to do with being gay. The gayness makes them slutting out safe because they know they don't have to worry about being pursued after. Likewise, my being best friends with their SOs also means they don't have to worry about being pursued by me, so they can cocktease to their hearts' content…

No, I don't like your arguments. absolutes You are fundamentally confused. A generalization does not equal an absolute. AWALT means that, while maybe a few might be special, principles here do apply to 95% of them. It means you don't give a fuck about the maybes and you live your life as though the absolute exists. Truth is one thing. Practice is another. Practice is what you should care about, unless you want to sit and ponder your navel all day. if I was able to slip a normal dose of any numbe…

That is what people really don't understand. I'm not a depressed lunatic with a clouded vision or something. I already thought everything through. This is arrogance speaking, man. You think that to consider yourself an intelligent person you need to cross all your t's and dot all your i's and be the Sherlock Holmes of your mind and your world. Not true. Then you're what's called a psychopath, an aberration part of the smallest minority which is easily accounted for with standard error. That means that if my statement applies to 99% of people, it's still an excellent fucking statement with that percentage, but there are going to be 70 MILLION people in the world it won't apply to.

A number of other posters have posted studies on facial expressions that just going "I don't like it so it's not true!" They have posted the same single study, and not even the full text but the abstract. It's not that I don't like the conclusion, it's that I think the thinking behind the conclusion is baseless when you consider the methodology of the study. This study flashed still images of different men to women and asked them to rate the attractiveness. And people are wildly extrapolating th…

You said pride=masculine. A man with pride thinks of himself highly and does not take shit from anybody. It is the very core of being masculine. And then I said being miserable and masculine (which equals pride) won't do anything for you. You're dumb man. And you downvoted all my responses to you like a bitch. I'm not. You're just being an idiot. If I wanted to change my words, I'd edit the post. Being happy makes you come across certain ways in every situation. That means voice, body language, eyes, walk, etc. I don't mean you go everywhere smiling like an idiot, or being a laughing doormat. Opening line. And then everything else. What kind of facial expression can make politicians look happy with themselves and their lives. How is it not completely obvious that I'm talking about something more than …

The idea is to be a happy person, not to be happy all the time. You will still get stressed at work, or while stuck in traffic, or whatever. You'll experience the full range of emotion anyone does, but if you are happy overall, that's the effect I'm talking about.

Ah, sorry about that. But yeah I'm a HUGE proponent for fitness as a way to cope with depression and anxiety. If it was a pill, it would be a miracle drug. Wouldn't work for 100% of people, but it might work for like 90%.

That sounds like a textbook criterion for major depression, depending on how long this has been going on. You might consider seeing a psychiatrist, or alternatively, a behavioral therapist if you want to go the no-med route.

The guy I'm thinking of lifted for himself for sure. Didn't even care about getting laid for years. But he was always super depressed. Never even cared if some of the supps he took were dangerous, and he did all of it, gear, ephedra, phentermine, etc. What you're saying applies to most people. That's absolutely true. A vast, vast majority even. But you made a very hard statement about fitness and UNhappiness being essentially impossible to find in the same person, which is wrong if you're going …

Second time this study has been cited so I need to set things straight. I'm talking about being happy. That study dealt with looking happy. The study flashed pictures at people with different expressions. My post has nothing to do with "a happy facial expression." It was to do with a quality of character you carry with you into every interpersonal interaction, automatically and without thought. I thought I made that very clear. And why would you base anything you do off this study? Honestly, how…

I definitely think fitness is a prerequisite staple in life, but I know a few shredded guys that aren't all that happy. Yeah, you have to lift 100%, and your odds of happiness are greater if you lift (doing cardio has also been scientifically shown to increase mood and help with a number of psychological conditions), but I wouldn't go as far as saying you can't be unhappy if you lift.

It is vague not only because happiness is this subjective thing for people, but because it is complex. Using myself as an example, I know that a maximum amount of freedom allows me to be happy. I'm talking about having enough money in the bank to go on a weekend trip to wherever if the feeling struck you, or having enough time to pursue a some creative exploit after the 9-5 is over. Right now, I'm not there, but I'm on a path that puts me there well within 10 years. The path is a secure one so l…

Certainly true and comedians are a great example. Artists in general are great examples of fun + unhappiness => sex. I think in their case, the lines between excitement, danger, and fun are seriously blurred. But look at the kind of path it leads so many of them down...drugs, self-harm, suicide, divorce, instability, squandered money. It's not sustainable and shouldn't be seen as something to aspire to. I would posit that the aftermath of romantic encounters -brief or long-term- is the biggest d…

I think they are separate things. But it's great you brought that up because charisma is something that does not automatically flow from happiness. This is very much in line with a lot of reading material out there that says charisma is a skill that can be taught and learned.

My main contention is that trying to isolate a magic bullet of attraction can be confounded because there are so many traits working together and even against one another. What's going to matter in your life is the final product, the integration of it all when someone meets you.

It's not really about a look. If you focus on the look, to me that says you are trying to fake it. I think of happiness as a core quality from which emerge dozens of outward signs that do not exist individually, but rather work in concert to produce the overall appearance. It's a symphony.
/r/TheRedPill28/06/14 04:09 PM

Exactly. It's a positive feedback mechanism of misery, where depression leads to less interest from others, leading to more depression, and so forth and so on.

The wording is a bit strong but I think the message is a good one. If you take a miserable man and put him with a woman who is attracted to misery, you have the perfect recipe for a toxic relationship.

Yes, that's how you choose a specialty. That's how everyone chooses a specialty. My question isn't how to choose a specialty. It's what specialty makes sense with men's rights.

As a doctor, it's impossible. The solution is to not have any politics...at least none that are publicly visible and/or controversial. If you want any of that, I reason it has to be one in the same.
