The edits get more and more cope-y, like she's trying so hard to justify his lying. Like, please, the man has been hiding and lying about a marriage for over four years. What's the question at this point... 🤕

The edits were even more aggressive and pickme 😩 Although I must say I was very pleasantly surprised by the comments.

Personally, I think it's so foolish and unwise, and I find it so unfortunate that it's pushed as "goals". When I was a kid, I used to think it was ideal or expected to be married at 21 since you see it so much on TV/film, the high school sweethearts getting married right out of school and facing no adversity. Now I look at people in their late teens/early 20s and see practically babies. Not to beat a dead horse, but prefrontal cortex maturation continues until the mid-20s... Rational decision-ma…

Did anyone else notice the pickmes in the comments saying women victimize themselves, #notallmen... As if DV and IPV isn't shockingly prevalent 😰

All of the HVW I know in their 40s say the 30s were the best years so far. They say they look and feel better than they ever have, are financially stable, and give less of a crap about others' opinions. It sounds much more liberating than the years of young adulthood when you're so self-conscious and caught up in what everyone else is doing 🤷‍♀️

This is insane to me. If these people weren't wealthy and famous, this situation would be viewed as low class and trashy.

How can they call this subreddit toxic then go ahead and write a page-long psychotic torture fantasy like this?

This is so unbelievably depressing. As is the comment from a SW saying she'd be out of clients if men were still attracted to their wives postpartum.

A part of me has to believe this isn't real. One of the comments says he didn't do his laundry for 6 weeks and drinks directly out of milk cartons? And she still had two kids with him at such a young age?? I just can't even fathom that.

I think it's possible, albeit incredibly rare, and the desire to change has to be intrinsic. I met this LVM surgeon once who was a "reformed" playboy and settled down in his early 40s, probably because he saw all his friends doing the same. He would complain about his wife and kids every single day, would tell stories about the "hot" women he used to get in college, and would apparently still try to hook up with nurses. This is what I imagine happens to most former f-boys: begrudgingly settling …

This is so viscerally appalling that I don't even have a strong enough word to describe it. Knowing there's so many perverts like this in the world makes me want to go off the grid and live in a cabin in the mountains.

1000% agree that it's just a cop-out and a line used to hit it and quit it. And definitely agree that compatibility in regards to preferences and desires is something that can be discussed without needing to "sample the goods". People are willing to put up with all kinds of terrible behavior and emotional abuse, but "sexual incompatibility" is the sudden deal breaker? Not buying it.

Naturally all the comments are people intentionally missing the point by going into an argument about semantics. All these pedophiles outing themselves. I feel disgusting just watching sex scenes between characters on shows who are supposed to be in high school, even when the actors are in their 20s. But I guess these people have no problem admitting they like teenagers :vomit:

I recently came to the realization that I have a pattern of attraction to men with a history of poor relationships with their fathers or grew up without them entirely. They've all had severe emotional issues that they weren't willing to work through, and it manifested in their crappy treatment of women.

"Based on her character" -- 100% agreed. It's not a moral shortcoming to not be conventionally attractive. We shouldn't be so fixated on appearance, but rather how someone treats themself and others.

Agreed! Her youth becomes apparent when you hear her singing about getting her driver's license and listening to Billy Joel as if that's a rarity. I'd feel like an absolute creep pursuing a teenager. I've been reflecting on these pairings recently, and it's disappointing and disturbing. Grooming is so prevalent in Hollywood, and it sets a bad example for ordinary folks. I'm glad people are becoming more aware and critical of it, but there's still way too many people whose argument lacks nuance, …

Blegh, currently going through the same thing, yet again. It's genuinely devastating to play house for a few months then be unceremoniously discarded when they get bored or find something "better". This is a good reminder to choose yourself and not settle for pitiful crumbs.

Completely agree. It's problematic and gross and sets a terrible example. I'm praying for a time when adolescent celebrities set the example that you don't need a SO to be "complete", especially a creepy predatory one.

I used to think their intentions were good in the earlier seasons, but as it went along it became all about the drama. And the "experts" have been doing so little to step in. Your radar would have to be that of a 4-year-old to let Chris get past the first interview. Most of the guys on that show are a nightmare 🥴

100% agreed. I feel like such a hater saying it, but I can't stand seeing so many profiles from people my age whose entire page is pictures of them meticulously posed in front of a painted wall. They're not actually doing anything. Then they archive photos that don't get as much engagement and pare it down to 16 perfectly curated photos. It's so unnatural and superficial. One of the biggest things I resent about social media is how dependent we've become on "likes" for validation.

I've found my brief experiences in plastic surgery to be kind of depressing. Women coming in asking "what do I need?" and surgeons rattling off a list of procedures and injections, pointing out micro-flaws the women didn't even notice before. Women in their early 20s hyperfocusing on every line or overinflating their lips. Women in their 60s and 70s absolutely petrified of aging naturally. I love the reconstructive side, but the cosmetic aspect feels borderline predatory.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/05/21 03:22 PM
35

Completely agree. The time and money we're conditioned to put into grooming and preening is silly when you step back to think about it. And the number of steps involved in "getting ready" keeps growing. These industries prey on women's insecurities for a profit. We don't need any of this, yet we're socialized to believe it's necessary and enjoyable.

I encountered a patient once, 20 year old male, who came in for STI testing because he had had sex with an escort with visible genital lesions, followed by 7 other women. Turns out he had HIV, chlamydia, and HSV. Ended up passing it on to an 18 year old girl whose first time was with him, along with who knows who else. Disturbing stuff tbh.

I had a peds attending once tell me a woman's most important purpose in life is having kids, and the pick-me 22 year old scribe started agreeing with him. I was not having it. Meanwhile, my female peds preceptor was the only person who ever said something to me along the lines of "...when you have kids-- if you want to. Don't feel pressured..."

I don't know why I'm at all surprised the top-voted comments are telling her shes TA. Very telling about how that subreddit views women. Guess you should be grateful your boyfriend rates you a generous 8 and graciously allows you to make him look more presentable.

The way men speak about prior partners is very telling imo. If they boast about how extensive their history is or make rude remarks about past female partners... huge red flag and turn off. One thing I don't tolerate in anyone, including male friends, is telling embarrassing stories about women just to get a laugh out of their audience, at the expense of someone else during a vulnerable moment. It's tacky and disrespectful.

I feel like this is saying there's this dichotomy where you're either a wild libfem or conservative tradwife. While there are women who fall on the extremes of the spectrum, it can be a spectrum nonetheless.

I'm googling screenshots and having war flashbacks. You could submit guys you know, upload pictures, and rate them on different attributes. I remember I used to see so many comments dragging guys for being cheap or having a massive ego. I wonder if I have screenshots on my ancient iPod.

I had to unfollow all of those subs for my sanity. Every other post is "My (23F) husband (52M) of five years told me I'm not doing enough around the house, even though I cook three times a day, clean every day, and stay at home with our three kids (4M, 3F, 1M). He says he pulls his weight by being the breadwinner and that I'm lucky to have the luxury of being a SAHM. I tried telling him I'm exhausted and need his help babysitting sometimes. AITA?" It's hazardous to my mental health to see so man…

So poignantly and accurately said. I personally resent this modern movement that ultimately does nothing but objectify and commidify women's bodies. There's nothing empowering about being used transactionally.

SAME. I'm at the point where I only want to surround myself with people who are motivated,, with a strong sense of self, and who are invested in real self-improvement. It sounds bad to say, but I can't be around women whose entire identity revolves around men, especially LVM. I can't be friends with people who don't know how to be single for more than a month, and that seems to describe most people I encounter.

Seems like a lot of men want to have their cake and eat it too. They want the comfort and stability of a relationship, the illusion of a white picket fence life with the 2.5 kid nuclear family, and the ability to dip into other options.
