I’m a married woman ten years older than you and I agree with what you’re saying. It makes sense that men want to marry and have children with women who are more selective and thoughtful about who they have sex with. Women who sleep with a lot of different men, especially outside of relationships, are usually more impulsive and reckless. Those qualities could make marriage, parenthood, and having a stable life more difficult. Unfortunately, sometimes girls don’t have adequate protection and guid…

Sometimes he has more energy than me. He exercises, takes the kids out on bike rides, takes them to the pool, and does other fun errands, makes sure we have everything we need, and still has the energy to talk to me and spend special time after they’re in bed. What women should be doing is picking men who want to be fathers and husbands. When I first started dating my husband, my friend who was also a mutual of his, warned me that he was “boring.” He wasn’t a party guy, didn’t drink, and didn’t …

My husband is four years older and I would say he is slightly older but still my peer. We have built a wonderful marriage together, married for ten years with four kids. He has the energy for all of us. We understand each other. We share laughs over the same things, understand the same cultural references, communicate similarly, etc. You don’t have to marry a much older man for a traditional marriage. My family right now is taking care of the great-grandmother (matriarch) and though we love her,…

You’re still nursing, you can run, you’re taking care of four kids every day! And you’re already slim and healthy. You are crushing it at mom life! Your body has done so much and is still going strong. Someday when you’re older, 60, 70 or 80 years old, you’re going to remember the days of how agile and strong your younger body felt. You’re in the good times now mama. As far as lifting, we have a home gym set up so I usually do it at home. I stick to the basics - squats, lunges, hip thrusts, dead…

Girlie. My four kids are the exact same ages as yours. I only feel like I’m just now feeling like myself again. Pregnancy and postpartum really takes so much out of you. But I thought you were going to say you were 20-30 pounds overweight. You are at a perfectly healthy weight. You are already thin for your height. It’s definitely the dance culture affecting your mindset. I’m 5’8” 150lbs and muscular because I lift. 140 is my goal weight (pre-kids), I was definitely skinny then. However, I look …

Married ten years and my husband and I both orgasm every single time, and use no toys, no porn, or other objects lol.. I don’t know about most women not participating in sex.. I actively participate in the marital act every time. I would question if a woman was really interested if she is just lying there, not participating, every time.

I agree with this take. Yes, our young children need so much from us right now. We have to be creative and adaptive to make time for each other in this season. But I still do the little things for him. Have a warm meal for him when he gets home from work, keep the fridge stocked with his favorite drinks and protein shakes, give him a hug and kiss before he leaves and when he gets home, schedule most of the kids activities during the week (so our weekends are open to do what we want), etc. I want…

You’re young still! Get in the gym and lift weights, sprint, Pilates, workout classes, whatever you like best. Exercise gives you endorphins and makes you look hot. Do your best to get a full night of sleep every night. Lack of sleep makes me look and feel worse. Spend a month only wearing skirts/skorts/dresses. I tried this challenge a few years ago and it was so fun. I automatically feel more feminine in a dress and people out in public treat you differently too, compared to wearing workout cl…

Sounds like your boyfriend respects you and is just trying to protect you. You asked him what he thought about you wearing an ultra short revealing skirt that would show your entire butt and underwear (and potentially genitals) in public? You realize that other creepy men will be able to see it too. Take pictures of you when you’re not looking. Not just other young attractive guys will be looking. Older men from other cultures (who don’t respect consent at all) could you see too. There is a diff…

I know… it does sound naggy when you have to ask a bunch. I’m not sure if you’re religious but I definitely prayed about it, for God to help him understand me and for me to express myself clearly to him. But ultimately I held my ground and probably did sound naggy to him. When I got to the point where I felt I couldn’t safely drive, I asked him to drive us since I couldn’t do it safely. I did not ask or give him the option of me driving because I truly couldn’t. If he couldn’t, then I would resc…

Great advice as always. I also recommend the ear plugs, eye mask, air purifier, fan blasting, magnesium, GABA, weighted blanket, lavender room spray, every sleep gadget and supplement you think would help. It took me trying several things to learn what helped me sleep the most, even when I was being woken up a lot.

I have been here with the extreme sleep deprivation, many times with my four kids. I even had to get on sleep medication, because even when my one year old sleeps all night, I still have trouble. It’s like my sleep rhythm has been damaged by the years of lack of sleep. It’s slowly getting better for me, but sleep deprivation is very serious. It affects your whole body and mind. You are not the same person when you’re exhausted as when you’re rested. You having break downs is a clear sign of that…

Before my now husband and I started dating, we were “talking.” When we first started this talking stage, I was “talking” to another guy. I had never kissed the other guy, we were just getting to know each other to decide if we wanted to start dating. As soon as I started “talking” to my now husband, I stopped talking to the other guy. I was crushing so hard on my husband and I lost interest in the other guy. It didn’t feel right to string him along. Ten month later, I was engaged. I can’t imagin…

The point is that the best matches and marriages are between a man and a woman in the same life stage / near the same age. Men shouldn’t have to wait decades to marry and start a family, and women shouldn’t have to settle for old men when they’re young. Young men and women are generally both in their physical peak in their 20s. We need young healthy moms and dads who will be around for most of their children’s lives.

In our hunter gatherer days, people died in their 30s and 40s. 40s is two decades off from 20s lol. What percentage of men are pro MMA athletes? Relationships are most stable (and least likely to get divorced) when the couple is in the same life stage, which I would personally define as within ten years of each other. Please don’t try and suggest that 40 something year old men should be pairing up with teenage girls. 🤢I promise middle aged men are invisible to young women unless they’re Chris Ev…

Women’s attraction is also tied to men’s strength, health, and fitness, thick hair, bright eyes, all things correlated with youth. That why men in their 20s and early 30s are at their “peak.” Military has age limits, athletes don’t normally play long into their 30s. 40s is definitely not male peak anymore. And it’s okay. Men and women can (and do) still find romantic partner at any age. It’s okay to not be at your physical “peak” anymore. No one should take it personally. Just embrace your age a…

No, it’s the same for men. 30s and 40s is when a lot of balding starts, they start getting overweight, aging, etc. Men and women can both stay looking close to physical peak in their 30s if they take great care of themselves.

Stop looking at that subreddit. I am 34 with four kids and have never looked at it. I think this is probably true for some women. For others, large age gaps are seen as predatory or gross because very young women often lack life experience to realize what’s happening. Why would a pretty 22 year old date a man 20-30 years older than her, waste her youth and fertile years on him (if he doesn’t want to marry), or become a very young widow someday (if they do marry), when she could build a life with a man in her same age range and life situation? Someone she actually finds physical…

Yes, maybe in the past the men would “breed” with multiple younger women, but only if he was the strongest, the tallest, the fastest and most intelligent, with resources. Which is similar to today.. professional athletes (and the like) often have children with many women who they may or may not marry. Average men don’t have that option.. which is most men. Some of these high status men don’t continue to pursue younger women because they prefer monogamy, are religious, truly love their woman, wan…

Oh I’m sorry that your family isn’t able to help you out. I would just tread lightly because you simply don’t know him. He could seem totally normal on the outside but might be a pervert and a bad person in secret. He might also be a great guy. You just don’t know. Is he from where you live? Maybe he could visit home sometime? You could meet up for lunch, activities, dinner, etc and get to know him again on your terms. Where you can safely go home when you wanted to. And say goodbye at the end of the night and go to your home, so you don’t feel pressured to sleep with him. I would not recommend planning to spend the night with someone that you haven’t seen in years. Especially not in another country. Do you know his family, any of his friends? Ask about hi…

I was in your shoes ten years ago, except I’m a little taller. 22 yo, long hair light colored hair, athletic and slim, green eyes, college educated with a solid job. I’ve given birth four times and almost all of my nurses, doctors, and midwives have been women. The majority of them were professional and even great. A few didn’t seem very caring, but maybe they were having a bad day. A few were young and seemed nervous. I’ve never experienced anyone who intentionally tried to hurt me at a hospital. Overall, the care I got after delivering was excellent every time. I wouldn’t want to have a baby in any other country.

You’re right, my perspective on dating is old. It’s actually non existent. I met my husband when I was 13 and I never had to try. I’m trying to arrange my kids marriages someday too lol (they’re toddlers). Honestly dating seems awful today.

“Current people” is tripping me up a bit lol, we are all alive so we are current people. Maybe you mean young and single? I’m 33 and already been married ten years because I met my husband young. Granted I don’t have much dating experience… but my husband has never asked for anything related to anal sex. I’m sorry that you’ve had this experience with men. That would be very offputting for me too. My husband does cherish me and provide for our family. There are good ones out there, but I think it heavily depends on your region, religion, age, etc.

I agree that sex work is exploitation and maybe OF doesn’t have the same violence and exploitation that other sex work has, but in my dad’s eyes (and how he taught me) it’s the same. If you take your clothes off to excite men and get paid for it, that’s prostitution. He is a very old school guy.

Sex work is not real work. OnlyFans is all about selling scared parts of yourself to men who are deep into the sin of lust. It doesn’t show value for either side to engage in that kind of behavior. There is so incredibly much more in the world that they could pursue.. medicine, engineering, ballet, pastry cooking, creative writing, design, environmentalism, education… And on and on. They chose nothing productive and instead, the basest of human desires. Even if it’s a “hobby” it’s not a good one…

My advice.. make those meals protein focused and then go to the gym with him. Eating a lot plus lifting heavy in his 20s will bulk him up in a good way. A layer of chub over muscle on some men looks good.

I also went to college and started my career for a bit before I quit at age 25 to have my first baby (I’m 33 now). I was in accounting and I did it solely for the money. It was not rewarding to me in any way. I think there is a big difference if you plan to work as a doctor, surgeon, teacher etc. Careers that are meaningful to you and to the community (especially if they pay well) will make it more worthwhile to go back. Also, medical jobs often have more flexibility. Even as a doctor, you could…

Yes that all sounds like psychological abuse! I feel so sorry for you! This is such a vulnerable and sacred time with your newborn and a good husband fully supports and cares for his wife during this time. You will never forget the way he is treating you now. Not just the U.S. but Europe as well. I wouldn’t say it’s “male” problems as much as it is the cultural issues that the men from certain countries bring with them, which the women wouldn’t or would at a much lower rate.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this! I hope you can find a good solution. In my experience, men can learn to do these things. I also used to do everything for my husband when we were first married. Men’s “prime” equivalent is also in their 20s when they’re also young, in good shape, with less baggage. They don’t need to already be rich and successful, but have the attributes, potential, and discipline to be successful men and good fathers. And be someone that a woman can build a life with. Most people have the best long term relationship success with people within a few years of their age (less than ten years). I mean.. for many religious people, we do ascribe very high value to sex. We, as women, are literally giving the man access to our live giving source, our womb. There are also lots of non-religious reasons to be selective about sex partners, and even waiting until marriage. My own personal view is that I love “belonging” to only one man, and he belongs to me. We have a connection like no other. Our intimacy created little human beings that we are now raising. It’s pretty incredible that we can c…

We are attracted to the male body. Bodies that take care of themselves. It also matters who the person inside of that body is. We all have our types, but we don’t feel attraction the same way men do. We operate on menstrual cycles with four phases, or women take hormonal birth control which can also greatly alter their physical attraction. Oh I didn’t know that. It would make sense then. But I wonder if the stereotype is really true.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/25 04:26 PM

Yes exactly. We need to tell women the truth (or at least this perspective that a lot of men have) so they aren’t left with regret and upset they never had a chance at a happy marriage and family. Many women were lied to or just never told this advice. “Staying pure” sounds really backwards and oppressive today, but there were real reasons that we were taught to do this throughout history. I’m not here to shame any woman for her past. You are a whole human being, no matter your sexual history. B…

That’s what my husband said basically. He also said women who have spent a lot of time traveling to other countries alone are perceived as more promiscuous. It must be a man thing because I don’t make that correlation. But I’m not into travel culture so I don’t know much about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/25 02:06 PM

I don’t think not traveling means you stay home and never try new things. Traveling wasn’t ever a hobby of mine (outside of the travels I did with family). I still try lots of new things- new exercise classes at the gym, reading books about topics I don’t know much about, volunteering in the community, chatting up strangers in public and hearing their life stories, trying new recipes with my kids, taking on a new DIY house project, etc. I do like to be home, but I’m always learning something new…

Well, yes absolutely 💁‍♀️ I live this every day. When you have a good man, he makes it easy to be this way. Older doesn’t mean they’re more mature or would be better partners, even if they are “ready to settle down.” I bet there are tons of great guys closer to your own age or 24-26. Anything five years or less doesn’t even count as an age gap at all. 28 and 21 isn’t bad either but this particular guy sounds like a waste of your time. It’s a red flag to move on. Obesity is not attractive to the majority of men or women. Are you saying you want to leave your husband because you’re obese and he doesn’t desire you? There is one way to change that. You have some degree of control over how your body looks. If you can’t find a way to do it on your own, there are GLP-1 meds available now as well. In my opinion, that type of safe male-led relationship is only found with Christian men with the morals and values to guide them. Most religions also have rules that state they shouldn’t marry non-believers of their faith. This dynamic could be something you foster in a relationship with a man you trust and who respects you. Finding someone through the normal ways who you love and then asking to try these things.

As a married woman, it took me a few years to understand this about my husband (we got married young), but things changed for the better once we started being intimate multiple times a week. I am always receptive to his advances and he is to mine as well. I didn’t know how important sex was to men. Honestly when you said that age gap, I thought at least she probably doesn’t have to work? But you’re working and going 50/50 and he isn’t trying to get a better job at HIS age? These are the kinds of issues couples can worth through, but usually they’re both young and it’s the result of just being inexperienced at life still. By the time they’re almost 40, …

As a religious woman, I have a very different view on this based on my religious beliefs. That is also a reason many people choose not to engage in extramarital relations or heavily shame them within their communities. It is about guarding your heart and body, for both men and women, so that you can have a strong marriage for life.

So glad my attractive husband doesn’t think it’s okay for him to cheat and lie just because he’s attractive. A man without morals is not an appealing man at all.

I guess I see your point to an extent.. if he forgot her name momentarily because he’s really busy with something at work, or tired, etc. We have four kids so it is a lot to keep up with, and I wouldn’t fault him for it happening sometimes. But he wouldn’t be able to be as involved as he is without knowing their teacher’s names. When he’s home from work, he is talking to them, having deep conversations, checking the communications from the teacher, etc. He truly knows our kids because he’s a gre…

Knowing the person that spends 30+ hours a week shaping your child’s mind is not arbitrary or irrelevant. My husband knows all of our kids teachers because he’s involved and helps drop off and pick up, attends parent meetings, attends events if he’s able to, etc. He cares about our children’s well-being and knowing their teacher is an important part of that. Unfortunately a lot of men are not like him, not willing to be good husbands and fathers. We are raising up our boys to be like him and the…

Also things like voting and joining the military can be productive things that are good for the person. People can build careers in the military and get health and education benefits, etc. Doing pornography and sex work is objectively harmful to women. Women are more likely to be addicted to drugs, commit suicide, deal with social and familial isolation, have a MUCH harder time finding a good husband and creating a family someday. Young people don’t always make good decisions. That’s why the leg…

I mean.. some of those things are debatable too. That’s why younger people are charged way more for car insurance. Because it is statistically more dangerous when they get behind the wheel of a car. A 16 year old where I live recently caused a huge accident and killed six people. So maybe a lot of them should not be driving. 18 years old is too young to make this decision. Even women in the industry support raising the minimum age to participate. Many of them wouldn’t have done it if they had ev…

I have four little kids, my youngest is 13 months old and I’m still nursing him. I gained more weight than I should have in 3 out of my 4 pregnancies. I put in the effort to lose weight after each one by watching my diet and walking a lot. I slowly incorporated exercises until I built back up my ability to do more intense exercise (after six months postpartum). Eat only one portion (or half a portion) of dessert. Eat your pasta and bread (you NEED carbs esp if you’re breastfeeding), but be sure …

If seeing a naked woman doesn’t involve violence and coercion, then have at it. But when it does involve all of those things and worse, then yes it is a problem. The porn industry is DEEPLY problematic. It’s not just willing women taking their clothes off because they want to. Many are coerced, drugged, forced to, and they deeply regret it even a year later. Because the brain is not developed enough to make a decision like that between the ages of 18-21. Children are also abused and forced to pa…

Men watch significantly more porn than women do. There is a large gap between men and women. And even though men also get victimized in pornography, it’s mostly women (especially young women, particularly white women). My experience as a woman.. I have never sought out pornography. Thank God my brain wasn’t ruined by being exposed to it as a child. It is mentally and emotionally destroying an entire generation of people today.

Sadly there are tons of men who are addicted to and watch porn regularly. Whether it’s OF or another website, men often say that “all men do it.” Even though that’s not true, a lot of men don’t watch porn for various reasons. But I’ve been told that’s the minority because most men do. And of course pornography preys upon young and vulnerable women, mostly featuring 18-21 women. It’s sickening to think about creepy 60something year old men lusting after 18 year old girls.

Does he not give you oral? Or use his hands on you? My husband usually does one of those first before we have sex. Is he opposed to you using them on yourself? Maybe he can “accidentally” walk in on you using one? Maybe it would open up the conversation to re-introduce them that way. Or maybe you can use a different toy, like a small personal massager or something? We don’t use any toys so I’m not sure what’s out there. I know several women married to guys who work in tech/computer science. They all exercise and look good in addition to the computer skills. But I’m mostly just saying women want a man with skills or something they can admire, look up to, and respect. A lot of women appreciate an intelligent man. My husband is extremely well read and I think that’s such a sexy quality. He is so intelligent and I really admire him for that. He’s always been an excellent conversationalist.

As a woman from the Bible Belt.. things that are turns off in men are being really skinny/scrawny/zero muscle, bad posture & lacking confidence, men who have absolutely no real world skills and only play video games and watch porn, and generally men who seem like they wouldn’t so much as squash a bug for a woman. Things that women find appealing are having skills in something (whether it’s cars, computers, yard work, etc), men who exercise, look like they bathe regularly, and extra points if the…

You barely know this man. Do you know for sure he doesn’t have a criminal history? What is his family like and where is he from? Does he have the same morals and values as you as far as marriage, parenting, etc, go? One of the consequences of sex is having a baby. I know the chances are very low if you’re on birth control and take precautions, but not zero. Guard your womb until you know he is worthy of being a husband and a father.

The bigger the age gap, the higher the risk of divorce. A guy who is 25-26 will still feel a lot older than you at age 20, but you’d have a lot more in common than with a guy 30+. I don’t think any 35 year old man dating a 20 year old would be considered established or respected by his peers. He’d be considered a little creepy, barring some rare circumstances. I have seen couples where the guy looks extremely young (age 32 but literally looked 18-20) so it kind of made sense that his wife was 23…

Based on my Christian values, my family, etc.. my mom was upset when she found out we were having “sleepovers” while dating (though his parents did not care at all when they found out we’d slept together before marriage). Physical intimacy can also cause women to feel enamored and then overlook warning signs that they’d normally be able to point out. Generally I feel it’s best for women to reserve intimacy for marriage and guard their hearts and bodies. It worked out for me thankfully, but it wa…

Marriage is not oppressive to women and women benefit immensely from marriage. I love being married! My husband is the best. He provides income for our family so I can stay home and raise the children and work in the home. We are very happy with our traditional gender roles. It’s not that anyone has a “time limit.” If you grew up in a Christian family, you’re taught that intimacy is meant to be reserved for marriage. And young people tend to have strong sexual impulses. Therefore, when you find …

Yeah I wouldn’t expect a stable and healthy young man to be in therapy. A lot of men don’t like therapy. My husband has a “garage beers” night with the dads in our neighborhood and that’s where a lot of them talk about the issues they’re facing. A lot of them really look forward to sitting around the bonfire or watching a sports game and hanging out with the guys with no women around. Men need friends, family, and a community to talk to.. not a therapist.

This is a good response, as a woman I agree. If he explained it before TTC, and told me his reasoning for it so I could understand, there would be no issue with the test. Also after the children are born and growing up, you can often see similarities to dad anyway. Our boys are all built exactly the same as my husband and our daughter inherited a carrier status that I don’t have, but my husband does.

Wanting a woman to invest her youthful, prime child bearing decade with you to get nothing in return (no marriage, children, future security, etc).. then breaking up with her at the end of the decade so she has to start over dating when she’s older is… a tall order, my friend. Everyone is allowed their preferences though.

So you’re not looking for a long term relationship or marriage, you just want to cycle through 20something women? Because I know some women in their 20s would go for guys in their 30s.. but that number becomes less in your 40s and basically none in your 50s. You can be attracted to women in their 20s all you want, but unless you’re a billionaire and cool with gold diggers, that will run out.

From a woman’s perspective who knows a lot of women and talks to lots of them every day… I have never met a woman who likes to play video games. Such a good response. All of that is sexy behavior from a man. A man who doesn’t just sit around and watch as his wife is busting her butt taking care of the kids all by herself. He grabs her purse when he sees it’s weighing her arms down while she’s trying to carry the baby. He gets up and grabs the toddler before he gets hurt instead of just screaming from his lawn chair. In my opinion, “vetting” is a modern day version of getting your father’s approval. I was raised in a more traditional family and before my first date with my now husband, he came to our house for family lunch and met my whole family. I also went to his house and had lunch with them too, including his grandmother. His grandmother was the one who gave her stamp of approval, and my dad gave his to us as well. You might think this after reading some things online but life does not end after 30. You don’t become less sexy after you turn 30. I don’t think the vast majority of men believe that, just the chronically online ones who probably harbor a lot of bitterness against women (whether it’s warranted or not) or they have qualities about them that make them unfavorable husbands to women. Do not listen to Pearl Davis. Not only is she unmarried and childless (meaning she has no actual experience with relationships, and it also goes against all of her “advice”) but her content is not actually helpful for women at all. I’m 5’8” my husband is 5’10” and I wear heels with him. Sometimes I’m just his height (because he wears shoes that have soles too). Sometimes I’ve been taller than him. He doesn’t care and never has. On our wedding day, I wore flats because I wanted to be my natural height in photos, and also because I did a ton of walking and dancing.
