That’s an interesting way to look at it. My parents are in their 60s. Fk me, 20yrs left at best. Thats fking scary. They’re both healthy but time goes by quick. We’ve been through hell to be honest. Just stuff that life throws at you. On balance, Id rather spend quality time with them, I’m sure they would with me, and see me happy and set in life. This resonates so much. Ive just had an epiphany in my own post. I’ve always assumed grandkids would make my folks happy. My mum had two misscarrges before me (she was 24yrs it wasn’t age related) and they couldn’t afford another child at the time. They always said they were just grateful for having me. Part of me assumed when they say as long I’m happy they’re happy it’s just something you say. But all things considered, I think they mean it. Bro I couldn’t love and care for another guys genes. It may sound cold. It’s not the child’s fault. And I’ve seen the effects a bad childhood has had on a few of my mates, one was abused. But I just couldn’t nurture and pass on another guys genetic lineage.
