I was instructed to be cautious at doing that because then your attorney REALLY won't want to work with you. I did call the number for our state and the person listened to what was going on and gave us advice. She suggested writing a written letter, that that sometimes changes things. Another tactic we did, because our lawyer wasn't communicating much or getting things done, was we stopped asking questions or ask what the options are. I paid for one of those "ask a lawyer" sites for advice and then sent emails to the lawyer dictating what to do. We got more response that way and we were able to push things along.

What state are you in? My husband went through the same thing in his divorce with his ex-wife. We had the lawyer submit our own copy of the final decree. You can do that. And when we did that, suddenly her lawyer submitted their copy the next day after ignoring us for a few months. It got her a* moving.
