If you really believe it’s hopeless: Guess what? You’re absolutely right. You’ve decided to lose before you even started For a lot of women, the bar isn’t low — it’s in hell. If you’re decently fit, have a hobby, and don’t smell, you’re already ahead of most guys Some dudes just don’t want to admit they’d rather complain than keep a skincare routine. Not putting in effort is a strategy. It’s just a really dumb one If I could, I’d vet every post or require complaints that thoroughly qualify what …

My guy insisting people take a shower is not the same. MTG literally had to add rules about BO at their events. Your personality cannot be assessed if you smell so bad no one wants to be near you This is not about smell, you’re intelligent, extrapolate accordingly

The answer you’re looking for is authenticity. “Nice guys” lie a lot, especially to themselves

You have anecdotal evidence and are extrapolating it as a fact. Dating is culture and culture shifts even from town to town. Personally, I’ve dropped girls after even just 1 date because I can tell what “into me” looks like. If you’ve had it, you wouldn’t settle, though I’m not saying a lot of people don’t. This isn’t about sex, but the energy of the interaction, reciprocity — in short women have game too, some may not but I only ever dated those that do and it guarantees you don’t risk a relati…

22-26 year olds are where I get the most attention from. When I was in my 20s, I got the most attention from early 30-late 30s.

This'll manifest itself whether you like it or not. No one wants to be with someone who lies to themselves. Also, a lot of this 'advice' is tiered to pre-relationship. u/West_Hunter_7389 hit it right on the head, you should be orienting yourself constantly to your partner. Attune to their needs and don't give up on yours

You need to be spending on therapy. No one will ever treat you better than you treat yourself

You say that, but this is precisely what some women want

Ooh, thanks, that should be wanting two kids. I am childfree.

Bro. It sounds like you're focusing on the wrong things entirely. Why don't you try to make a future you that you would look up to? That's one of the guys you're currently jealous of. That's the path you're seeking. The things we admire in others are what we would want to engender in ourselves. It won't happen overnight, but you know what it takes. It's even part of the reason you mentioned living with your parents. What could you even offer a woman who was interested if that's what your reali…

OP. I get this argument. I've always wanted to be a father and have even thought about whether I'd adopt at this point. I'll be 33 this year. I make 6 figures, but being alone and having two kids I know it's not enough. Think I need more leverage / similar position to yours financially to fund this option -- it's a bit of a dream though. Though, I haven't lost hope in finding the right person to have children with

"In the age of social media" You had it right except for this. This has always been the case. Women want to be 'queens,' but the only thing that makes a queen is marrying the king. Does not apply the other way around.

Models by Mark Mason. Read it. Live it. Besides that, that $ would be better spent improving your personality and skills into things that you are interested in (this is important) that women also value. e.g. an improv class, a dance class, or gym membership

Hobbies, those are interesting to you not for the other person. This is your presupposition. Often, hobbies are the most interesting because sometimes, go figure, you share the same hobby! Or there is an overlap in hobbies that you can connect with, or that hobby is how you end up planning your next date / hangout. I've found, time and time again, that hobbies are the best way to meet people post-schooling. I'm stopping there because you're beyond the scope of a reddit comment to help if you don…

Huge fan of this. I actually use it to determine whether or not I go for a kiss.

Men don't really have access to a woman's funds. So this is largely irrelevant. Like, I've gotten really good gifts for birthdays or to celebrate an achievement, but in the span of 2 good dates her cost was trumped on my end. I like it if we can reasonably split food, and ditto for vacation costs (my ex was able to do this, but she also only paid like 1/12th our cost of living).

I hate that this comes off as gatekeepy, but this stuff is precisely why I make the distinction between hobbies and past times. For something to be a hobby, you have to meaningfully engage with it and reasonably have a chance at becoming better or raising some skill, bonus points of that skill is interoperable to different hobbies! Dancing, music, and even gaming qualify (there are ways to game socially too), but watching TV or just 'reddit' usually wouldn't. When people look for others with hob…

You attract what you are not what you want

I feel what you're saying but I disagree with the specific line. It sends the wrong message. So much of communication is non-verbal and simply has little to nothing to do with what is actually said, this unfortunately can't be conveyed too well in the manner you suggest.

Most people have already touched on what your motivation should be and why you should do it, I will only note that if you don't care about improving yourself, or care about your appearance, don't be surprised if all you attract are others who you might think don't care about their appearance, or improving themselves. We attract what we are, not what we want.

As a black guy, I was shocked until she said 'Donald trump is going to take you back to your country' and then the surprises stopped.
