No pity needed. Save it for someone who hasn't said anything positive on Reddit since October 11, 2017. That level of misery in a person must be absolutely suffocating.

Ah OK got it...I see what you mean. Is promiscuity a bad thing when they're young, though? The way I've always viewed it, I'd rather they got it out of their system when they were young - much better than reaching an older age, realizing they missed out and didn't experience the wild life, and then deciding they want a taste! We all like to be a little wild during our lifetimes, and women are no exception, so I'd rather not have to worry about that later. Same goes for guys; I partied and slept …

Obviously the problem now is the gynocentrism of the law. Remove child support, splitting assets, custody of children to the mom by default, and alimony, THEN marriage makes sense, at least to me. I couldn't agree more. My circumstances were pretty unique - we wouldn't have been able to stay together without getting married - and I don't recommend marriage normally. You can have a good, committed relationship with someone without legally signing away all of your future assets. Best of luck to yo…

Thanks, and I agree...the risk is very, very high. I see the nightmares happen all the time - my brother-in-law, father-in-law, and many other friends all went through hell thanks to greedy, evil women who knew how to leverage kids and the legal system. We've been married a long time now and are very happy, but if something ever happened and it ended I wouldn't do it again. You can have a good, strong, loving relationship without marriage. My situation was pretty unique and marriage wasn't optio…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
