No. Absolute power doesn't corrupt. There have been many good kings throughout history- examples of a benevolent sovereign masculine. Unaccountable power corrupts absolutely. When those with their hands on the levers of power are shielded from view, and when they don't own the domains over which they exercise influence, then they are incentivized to act in their selfish interest only.

That study by Marshall has been contested time and time again, to the point where we can consider it debunked. The reason the study continues to be shared is because of this pervasive tinge of Marxism through all academia which wants to believe that all conflict is caused by capitalism/nationalism/Colonialism/sexism and that humans in a state of nature are natural non-violent socialists.
