What are people's opinions on TERFs and trans rights in general?Oh no, feminists only like a certain kind of trans men. Here is the list of criteria (in my experience) that stops a trans man from being 'one of the good ones' (as though that isn't already a terrible way to think) Being masculine Advocating for men's rights Passing Disagreeing with a feminist Having male friends Being queer/poc Not having visceral hate for yourself Suggesting in any way that women don't have it 100% harder than men, 100% of the time Being loud Existing | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 18/07/24 12:42 AM
As much as society complain about boys always being rambunctious, society still hates quiet/reserved boys. Or at least find these boys odd at best.Like why are they even watching that closely? Focus on the lesson | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/07/24 08:35 AM
As much as society complain about boys always being rambunctious, society still hates quiet/reserved boys. Or at least find these boys odd at best. She did not lol, It's almost funny in hindsight, because while it was upsetting and embarassing at the time, te fact that she found a way to complain about us both was ironic. They don't like it when you fidget, and they don't like it when you don't, they don't like it when you're loud, they don't like it when you're quiet. You're always too much, too little, too fast, too slow, too sporty, too studious etc. It makes it less hurtful when you realise the game is rigged anyway, and there's nothing… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 17/07/24 08:34 AM
As much as society complain about boys always being rambunctious, society still hates quiet/reserved boys. Or at least find these boys odd at best.Yeah, I relate to this one. I didn't like talking, except to this one friend, I still don't love talking but I've gotten better. It was actually extremely ironic, he was one of those 'rambunctious' (he ended up having adhd and was just badly stimulated) and in the same sentences my teachers would insult him they'd insult me, or vice versa. One time he got all his stuff thrown out the window because he was fidgeting, and not even a minute later one of the teachers complained about me 'sitting lik… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 16/07/24 11:10 PM
The ‘doing __ aggressively to see my husband’s reaction’ trendIt was horrifying. He chooses to avoid alcohol almost completely due to cultural reasons, so he didn't realise something was off while he was drinking it, and just thought it was how alcohol tastes in higher concentrations. His girlfriend had apparently seen stuff on social media about guys who remember their wives even when drunk out of their minds, she knew he wouldn't ever willingly drink that much, so the idea was to basically get him in that mentally impaired of a state, and then try. He wa… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/07/24 11:58 PM
SA, SH and DV Story ThreadI think my biggest trauma happened when I was 8. My other tried to set me on fire. She was hyper-religious, and I think possibly psychotic? My dad had tolerated her craziness for a while, but he did, fortunately, rescue me from that. I ran all the way to my friends house. Fortunately, it was mostly limited to my hands and arms, and only 1st and 2nd degree, not 3rd. My friend's house wasn't safe either. He was 8, so I'm really glad he did some brain work. He dragged me to the park about 2 blocks … | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/07/24 11:31 PM
The ‘doing __ aggressively to see my husband’s reaction’ trendI have a friend who got raped because his gf wanted to do a loyalty test. She paid her friend to drug him, sleep with him, and send him photos after. The guy couldn't sleep properly for a month, and will never get that photo back. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 14/07/24 11:02 PM
