nor that it's how civilizations historically fail. Wealth inequality precipitated every government or ruling class collapse since we started historically tracking this kind of information. Frankly, I'd say fewer hands on more resources is idealistically bad, but practically good The opposite, actually. Wealth in a few hands is idealistically good, but practically bad. Government and societal stability depends on a thriving and growing middle class. A middle class also allows upward mobility from…

Why would that be the goal? Avoidant attachment style is inherently dysfunctional.

True, but you do agree that many men that come to the RP do so after fairly negative experiences with women, whether it's rejection or failed relationships. As such, they're fairly primed to resent women, so do you feel that it is at all irresponsible to use an acronym that tends to breed that resentment (misogyny even)? In the same way it would be irresponsible to tell a paranoid anxious person that all guns are loaded. There's examples of this thread alone of people who have taken AWALT in a l…

This is a literal approach to AWALT. You are the example that I am bringing to the OP, who is making the argument that AWALT is never meant to be interpreted as ALL women. I suppose you're not the best person to answer my question given that I am asking, if we're not supposed to believe it refers to all women, why call it AWALT? You believe it is supposed to refer to all women, so for you, the acronym AWALT makes sense.

I don't believe women are taught that, and if they were, I don't believe many believe it. If they did, you would see probably a female version of TRP in the mainstream with posts and articles covering topics such as "Men are incapable of love, they only want sex."

Sorry, just to clarify, does AWALT help them develop avoidant attachment style, or helps them develop secure attachment style?

Would you tell all guns are loaded to someone suffering from paranoid anxiety? I wouldn't, because that person would probably stress and obsess over the fact that any gun in the house was probably loaded and dangerous at all times.

Well then we can agree that the issue is in interpretation, not the core concept. It's both. The concept itself is misleading. At least, its title is. If I have a square called Red, but it's actually blue, and I'm showing it to colorblind people and they misinterpret it and assume the square is red, sure, it is an interpretation issue, but one that I created. Same idea. Explain the nuance better. I just did it in 506 characters in my comment above. It's not hard. The "AWALT doesn't mean ALL wome…

But if you take it as: this is what women can do, look out for the red flags and avoid being a victim - then what's the problem? Well, the problem is, not everyone takes it like that. So what can you do to ensure that everyone takes it like that, as opposed to the people who take it pretty literally? Logically, my assumption would be to not use an extreme, and make the message itself more rational. Instead of AWALT, make it WCBLT (women can be like that). I guess I'm curious as to why that's not…

I never mentioned incels and omegas as being the only targets of AWALT. In that portion of my comment I was only replying to the type of men that OP described. I do believe pushing the AWALT narrative to men who are inexperienced (incels, omegas, or merely shy/introverts), or men who are jaded does tend to decrease well-adjustedness. To what extent? Who knows. These guys need to unlearn much and learn RP lessons to avoid being exploited. But why push a patently-false narrative to people who are …

Why do RP men need to be beaten through their brains with AWALT? Why not beat the facts through their brains instead? Some women are good, some women are bad, some women will use you, this is what it looks like when a woman is using you? I don't know, maybe it's just me, but taking jaded or inexperienced men and drilling it into their heads that AWALT is just going to make them take AWALT to heart, which doesn't seem like the right goal. Going from one extreme (being a hapless pushover) to the o…

ALL OTHER FACTORS being then same, no sane man would choose a high female over a high n girl. Well, practically speaking, it's really impossible to consider just the number alone. Obviously the questions of "what about this person led them to accrue a large number" is going to run through someone's mind, and there's right and wrong answers to that question. That's probably more telling than the number itself. Red flags would be a woman who has no impulse control or who uses male attention for va…

Agreed, and like I said, even this aside, I understand why some people concern themselves with their partner's N count. Comfort and security are important factors in a relationship and for some people, large N counts don't really breed that. But just putting it out there that, evidence-wise, what we see with N counts and divorce is a correlation that is probably explained by some larger 3rd variable, and that if you do want to put stock into correlations in terms of maximizing marriage success, …

Not to mention that even for the higher divorce rate correlation, there is no evidence that higher N count is the causative factor, which is how it seems to be frequently interpreted. For example, higher N count usually implies that a person is less conservative, and thus more likely to divorce as opposed to someone who is religious and conservative. That might sound good at first but "undivorced" does not translate directly into "functional and happy" marriage. For those preoccupied with how to…
