| 2 | 75 years ago, men and only men were conscripted to die in WW2. Today, game developers shoehorn female soldiers in WW2 games, unabashedly erasing men's coerced sacrifice from popular culture, all for money.but they want to try to craft/force a narrative by claiming this is "historically accurate When have they ever claimed their games are "historically accurate"? | /r/MensRights | 14/07/18 09:05 PM |

This has nothing to do with "rights" or "responsibilities" or inequality in how genders are treated in society. It's about a video game where you shoot other players, and it's about DICE trying to make it appealing to more people to make more money. | /r/MensRights | 14/07/18 06:41 AM |

It has nothing to do with the point I was making. The point is that it's stupid to make an issue of making a female character model playable in a battlefield game. The fact that men were conscripted and women were not has nothing to do with that point. | /r/MensRights | 13/07/18 11:06 PM |

Yes, i'm sure we're going to have generations of kids growing up thinking that WW2 was fought mostly by women, all because you can play as a woman in a battlefield game. | /r/MensRights | 13/07/18 10:04 PM |

Today, game developers shoehorn female soldiers in WW2 games, unabashedly erasing men's coerced sacrifice from popular culture, all for money. If you were one of the players from the early days, you'd know that the bulk of all their games was grounded in history. I'm a huge battlefield fan and I've played literally every battlefield game ever. I'm super excited for the new battle royale game they are developing. As far as "historical accuracy" goes, in Battlefield 1942 they mostly used weapons from that time frame, and they created maps based on real battles that took place, but beyond that there was not much historical accuracy. What does that matter? No one is contesting that pretty much all wars ever were fought mostly by men. But when someone says that there were no women combatants in WW2 then they are just plain wrong, and that was part of my point. | /r/MensRights | 13/07/18 09:52 PM |

For example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyudmila_Pavlichenko https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roza_Shanina https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nina_Lobkovskaya https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natalya_Kovshova How about the resistance movements in Europe? You bet your ass there were women resistance fighters. This sub has some valid gripes but it's fucking stupid when you complain about women in video games.
