I know it's been weeks and weeks since you made this comment, but I want to take the time to thank you for it. At first I sort of brushed it aside and went searching for a more palatable reply, but your statement stuck with me somehow. And now that I'm finally beginning to internalize it, it's very helpful advice. Again, thank you. I hope you and yours had a lovely holiday.

Haha, Disney went out of his way to find a little 19 year old opera singer to voice her. He really wanted a light, sweet, girlish voice. I was trained as an opera singer myself though, and I always thought her vibrato was overdone and nasal.

Haha, I can definitely tell that you've been working up material for a larger post on this. You have clearly put in a great deal of thought.

I agree that Jasmine is probably the worst princess role mode. Belle has long been my favorite, but she has her unbecoming moments as well. In fact I think the biggest RP message in Beauty and the Beast is probably for the men; Gaston was alpha af, but he let oneitis ruin his life.

All good points. I have noticed that taking the red pill has irrevocably altered the way I enjoy films and other media. It sounds like you're experiencing the same thing.

Thank you. I really do need to focus on becoming a better housekeeper. Clutter bothers him, and I'm naturally a clutter-gatherer and a pile-maker. 😬😳

I do make sure to let him know that I'm sexually available to him, but maybe I should make my signals a little stronger.

1: My wonderful husband who works very hard so that I can stay home with our beautiful baby girl instead of sending her to daycare. 2: Zombies, run! for making me want to exercise! 3: This beautiful Autumn weather that is finally here (at least where I live)!

My heart goes out to you for having to go through such an awful, awful situation. I applaud you for having the self respect to let go of your ex instead of letting him sway you with lip-service. Here is my advice to you. Step 1: Block his number and social media profiles. Step 2: Get yourself tested for VDs; if he fooled around with any of those girls on FB then he may have put you at risk. Step 3: Put yourself first and work on your own self development.

I couldn't make it past "Boob pistol of distain." <rolls eyes> Apparently one of the favored ways to be a strong-independent-woman is to speak like a seventh grade boy.

Best case scenario: She was convinced that her new leaf was well and truly turned and she fooled herself into thinking she was good enough for you. Worst case scenario: She intentionally deceived you in order to take advantage of you and those close to you. Either way, she's a low-quality woman and not even close to LTR material.

Sound advice for TRP's main demographic, but I'm not looking to become alpha (that's my husband's role).

I believe implication is that sons are unlikely to invest as heavily in their appearance as a daughter. Cosmetics, skincare, fragrances, hair/nail/spa appointments, clothing, etc. Believe you me, that gets expensive fast.

My husband and I have successfully used the fertility awareness method (hereafter referred to as FAM) to avoid unwanted pregnancy for a year, then a planned pregnancy, and now for a year and a half postpartum. Many people confuse FAM with the rhythm method, or calendar method, or whatever, but FAM is much more reliable. I recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It's tremendously informative without being too dry or boring to read.

Improving our sex life is part of my strategy, and I make sure hee knows I'm available to him. We have some contraceptive issues we're working around, and right now they're our biggest obstacle.

Our SMV is probably about the same, and we're both overweight and working on it. We've both swallowed the red pill and we've been steadily improving ourselves. The reason for the hall pass is this: We've been together since we were teenagers, and his n-count is 2. He's said he regrets that he never messed around more when he was younger, to the point where he's finding the flirtation he's receiving at work lately tempting (yeah, dread, I know). To paraphrase what someone else said, he's going to…

Haha, no hall pass for me. My husband keeps emotionally faithful to me, and I keep physically faithful to him. Besides, my n-count is one, and I aim to keep it that way.

Sound advice; thank you for your input. Sharing this information without anonymity with anyone other than my husband himself could indeed have disastrous consequences. However, it occurs to me that he might brag about it to his guy friends. Do you think I should ask him to keep it to himself?

Different women are going to have different opinions on this. Personally, my husband has a permanent hall pass that only includes professional sex workers. If he wants variety or whatever then I'd much rather he go to someone who is clean and on birth control, someone who is looking for money and not commitment, rather than risk picking up a bunny boiler.

I notice this behavior in myself occasionally. I don't suppose it's particularly harmful unless it becomes malicious, or is used to pick fights.

Thanks for the food for thought. I suppose intent makes the difference when shit testing in an LTR; trying to pick a fight vs. testing the waters. I'm curious though, how do you define shit tests? I might categorize your example as more of a comfort test; "does he love me enough to spoil me with a little chocolate cake when I ask him?" Edited because I had an afterthought.

I've been reading, "Being A Woman" by Dr. Toni Grant (a book I bought after reading an excerpt posted on old RPW), and I love the way it breaks down the female psyche in a way that's relatable and easy to understand. It is full of red pill truths. I also enjoy The Simple Sophisticate Podcast for its emphasis on self improvement and mindful enjoyment of life's simple pleasures. It's definitely worth listening to despite her occasional ra-ra-yay-feminism posts. Edited for spelling.

Gaston had those village slatterns drooling and panting over him, and instead of enjoying the abundance around him, he got a world class case of oneitis for the only girl in the whole village who was not interested. He was so desperate to wife her that he lost any semblance of credibility with her.

My SO likes things kept clean too, it's the housemate who is perfectly at home in piles of clutter and litter. Honestly, considering this housemate is a functional hoarder, he does a reasonable job keeping his junk out of our shared space. However, neither my SO nor I are okay with him leaving around messes on the main floor.

I like the idea of a labor exchange; that sounds like it could work! I can see how my cousin being in college makes it sound like he's a young guy, but he started college after finishing a couple tours in the marines and will turn 30 this year. You're definitely right that I need to not burden my husband with my grousing.

Oh, yes, I'm well aware that I've stepped into that role, and I hate it. I just don't know how to manage this so that I'm neither mommy, making sure his nose is wiped and his room is clean, nor maid, cleaning up his messes.

According to Jungian psychology, both men and women possess a masculine aspect (animus) and a feminine aspect (anima). They are inescapable and integral parts of human psychology. It's true that a person possessed by their animus will be drawn to a partner who is possessed by anima (the masculine will attract the feminine), but it's a sliding scale. Anyone who is completely one or the other is a statistical anomaly and has almost certainly excluded multiple other aspects from their personality, …

I'm not making an empirical argument, Floyd, I'm making an allegorical one. My point is that this fictional work was written from the viewpoint of a woman who lived in a pre blue pill society. It shows evidence that the female mating strategies haven't changed, and that women have historically sought the perfect mate (or as you called it, the prince charming). And what does the perfect mate possess? A combination of alpha and beta qualities. Is she going to find Prince Charming, of course not, n…

Sorry, I'm having a difficult time discerning the meaning of your comment. I stated that Trump being an alpha is a popular opinion, and you replied that, no, "it's the predetermined definition in TRP." I don't understand. Your logic in the remainder of your comment about subjective definitions and hamstering is evident, but I don't see how it is relevant. What exactly are you trying to say? Edited because autocorrect.

I agree completely. Back when marriage worked well (before the sexual revolution and the birth control pill) women sought out men for marriage who were both good providers and attractive, looking for the total package you described. They tried to "marry up" As much add possible too, reaching for the highest quality man they could obtain. As an example, look at the main romance in Pride and Prejudice (which, by the way, is an example of the classic definition of hypergamy wherein someone marries …

I'll be honest, I find it difficult to consider Donald Trump as an alpha. It's an unpopular opinion in TRP, I know, but hear me out. When it comes down to it, alphas are supposed to be those guys who possess fantastic genetics to which women are drawn as part of their sexual strategy, yes? The part of the strategy that seeks to find the best genetics in order to produce the healthiest offspring possible. Betas, on the other hand, are men who possess ample resources, emotional stability, and pate…

Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day Set in London just before WWII, this film puts a fresh twist on the frowzy-woman-gets-a-makeover-and-lands-a-man trope, as well as being a wildly entertaining study of AWALT behavior. Amy Adams is always a joy to watch, in my opinion, and she does a brilliant job of playing a CC riding, hypergamous, would-be starlet.

Let's not forget that decades ago the birth plan of choice was the ol' knock 'em out, drag 'em out procedure with women strapped down, drugged up, and plugged in. The standard birth experience from back then often left women in no condition to even express what they wanted. And hospitals had a very strict policy against husbands in the maternity ward for a long time. I mean, there were actually cases of men handcuffing themselves to their wife's hospital bed and police being called, etc. Edited …

My husband was right there in the birthing pool with me. No regrets, he was my rock. In fact, I've joked before that he took on all the stress and worry so that I could concentrate on pushing, haha. I honestly can't imagine going through that labor without my husband there. I was right at 42 weeks, and I had to have mechanical induction or else I would have had to go to the hospital instead of the birth center we'd paid for. All this was told to us by a very unpleasant midwife (you know, the typ…

Girl games are beneath a secure woman in a happy relationship, and it doesn't really sound like you're in one. I also don't believe a man who is truly into you would attempt to break up because an ex is being dramatic. That looks like a red flag to me. Especially considering that your relationship is so new and should be in that warm, gooey, fluffy, honeymoon phase. Next. Find yourself a captain who makes you want to be your authentic best self.
