Oh yeah of course, I’m not justifying hate towards anyone, just wanted to state where I think the beliefs come from. I think for it to get to the point of openly hating on others such as women or gay men is wrong, but that the self-hatred that can occur is a fault of society for what it’s teaching young men. I can safely say almost every insecurity I have comes from traits that are considered unattractive or less ‘manly’ (mainly short and skinny). This is kind of a tangent but with regards to tr…

Just like to say that about your point of men who believe “what makes a man is how many hot women he can fuck”, I don’t think this is instigated by incel subs, rather that this is what draws more insecure young men into TRP in the first place. I think society, media and the environment boys grow up in gives them this mindset, and this in turn is what drives some of these boys to incel subreddits if they are unsuccessful with “getting laid”, and they are more likely to subscribe to it bc they alr…

TRP is wrong in saying all women would rather “share Chad”, but that doesn’t mean that no IRL women are like that, just that not all of them are. You said yourself that some people (I assume women?) said they prefer you over your friend, which shows that women can have different preferences. Some will want to go after clout/players, sure, but others will have wildly different preferences. But I understand how insecurity or whatever can prevent this logic from truly sinking in, I’m having a hard …

My rational brain knows that TRP is BS, it follows none of the trends I’ve seen in real life and generalises women to one personality which makes no sense. I’m just having trouble letting go of the cynicism as I’m generally quite insecure anyway, so I end up feeling those horrible things every now and then because the TRP ideas still play on those insecurities even though I know it’s BS, I want to get to a point where my emotions aren’t affected by this anymore. Also yeah while everyone is settl…

So? Self-improvement is better for us in the long run. I’m kinda like pre-transformation Steve, but I realise that improving myself will make me feel less insecure in general and will lead me to have a richer life, and that’s worth more than any ‘body positivity’, which sounds like it buries insecurities rather than curing them.

Yeah, I hope I can overcome it. I don’t want to feel cynical and resentful around women or guys who I feel are better than me because they’re ‘alpha’ and are successful with women. I want to enjoy life on my own terms, not have that nagging feeling that I am unworthy if I don’t have sex all the time.

Hopefully, it’s easier said than done though, subconscious mindsets are hard to overcome. My rational conscious brain 100% rejects it but my subconscious still somewhat agrees with TRP as it plays on my deepest insecurities (do i fit in, am i attractive/desirable, am i a loser, will anyone ever care about me etc.). I just have to work on those insecurities until my subconscious has no reason to believe it anymore.

Personally it was insecurity in how desirable I was. It wasn’t that I knew I was unattractive - rather that I had no idea because I haven’t talked to a girl in a non-formal setting since I was 11. I still don’t know how desirable I am since I pretty much actively avoided being around girls my age due to my fear of talking to them, and being at a boys school I was never forced to be around them. It also meant I have no idea how girls my age think or act for the most part so I was incredibly vulne…

Ironically my family are from one of those cultures (from India) - my parents waited until marriage and lost their virginities at 30, which is the norm for my family. My friends are also no casanovas - the majority are virgins and those who aren’t have only had LTRs. Part of me thinks this comes from resentment towards my family. Early on they repressed me socially and encouraged me to focus solely on studies, as a result I didn’t have many friends due to not knowing how to socialise, they’re al…

Yeah rationally I realise how dumb it is. I might be in the minority for not having sexual experiences but there are also things which I have that most people will never experience, you win some you lose some. And yeah, we all die and rot in the end. But I always feel the resentment anyway and it’s really unsettling. I don’t know how to stop feeling this way.

Thanks for the reassurance, I honestly don’t think I’d feel anywhere near comfortable enough around a stranger to have sex with them anyway so I’m not gonna be chasing ONS at any point. But at the same time I don’t want to be judging guys/girls as inferior for having loads of sex partners either, I just want to stop giving a shit at all. Any feeling of inferiority of superiority is going to get in the way of potentially making some really good friends or relationships. Having thought more about …

Yeah I definitely wouldn’t think any less of my role models if they were virgins. I think the bigger problem for me is I’m subconsciously glorifying sex as some sort of trophy, whenever I meet someone who I know has had loads of sex/relationships I feel sort of like I’m ‘inferior’ to them almost as if they’re in a different (superior) world to me. I hate feeling this way and I know I’m losing out on getting to know some amazing people with this stupid mindset.

Personally I found porn was sort of a ‘gateway drug’ to TRP shit, though I think porn had a worse effect on me than most people due to being exposed from a very young age (~10 years old) and because I was fairly socially isolated as well so I didn’t get to know girls in real life, so most of my ‘experience’ with women was watching videos of sex, which made TRP the next step in the downward spiral. I think one thing I need to do is really introspect about which of the things I desire are purely b…

It’s not even like that in high school if I’m being honest, I have introverted nerdy friends who have girlfriends and people haven’t been that superficial since 15/16. In uni I’m just going to work on becoming who I want to be and that should attract my kind of women anyway.

From what I’ve seen in school being ‘alpha’ only helps with sleeping around, not with getting a gf. I have friends who are short, skinny, stereotype nerds who who have girlfriends, even at the age where women are supposedly ‘shallowest’. And like I said my whole obsession with becoming the guy who sleeps with loads of women was an insecurity/ego thing, I don’t actually want that at all.

It’s true that society is responsible for the pressure on men to be fuck machines but for me TRP and PUA stuff massively worsened my insecurities on top of that. The emphasis on being an ‘alpha’, masculine man (I’m not naturally ‘macho’ at all) was something that really struck me down as I was 14/15 and quite lonely and emotionally vulnerable at the time of discovering TRP, which is what lead me down the rabbit hole of being obsessed with sex to feed my ego, which ironically made me more insecur…

Yeah this is amazing advice, thanks. I’m trying to be more healthy, though I definitely need to do more exercise and eat less junk, though I eat somewhat less nowadays. I do definitely need to stop giving a fuck though, I will admit I’m a bit of a pushover atm.

Yeah I only really play video games nowadays to socialise with friends in lockdown, aside from that I haven’t played games massively for years tbh. There is one game I play sometimes, but it turns my computer into a jet engine after about an hour which I find is a good ‘limiter’ to my playtime. It is something I genuinely enjoy though, I’ve never felt addicted to this particular game, it’s mainly the fairly passive mobile ones that get me hooked.

Thanks, the insecurity is still there but I’m going to try my hardest to get rid of it. Really I just realised that on by death bed I’d rather be a virgin who cared for others and connected with people than a man-whore who focused only on getting sex and being attractive (Not that I’m saying I’ll die a virgin, but yeah).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
