Yes a pool of narcissists and pickmes. Much of the content could be in our pickme hall of shame.

If you ever need proof of this, take a look at the adultery sub. Many posts about cheaters getting caught, "working on the marriage" and even going to therapy with their spouse, while keeping up the affair(s) the entire time. Their only concern is better "OPSEC." Dump. A. Cheater. And never look back. Check out chumplady.com if you need reinforcement.

Yes I believe Brene makes a point that not everyone earns your story. LVMs certainly do not.

Completely agree. I guess it's up to the individual to determine how much trash they want to sift through for the remote possibility of finding what....a $50 bill? For me it has long stopped being worth the energy and time.

What's with LVMs, when you are dead accurate, responding with..."fair.". Fair? Nope, I'm 100% correct. This is not a debate.

Yeah this boy ain't engaged. He's probably never had a girlfriend. Just trying his hand at writing fiction. More productive than what he probably usually does with it.

You know when I start feeling lonely, frustrated, and/or giving a s*** about what men do and think, I simply relax my jaw, relax my shoulders, and let myself float in this head space and think about nothing. It feels great. I acknowledge the feeling of loneliness... And then in this relaxed state let it go. The feeling passes and I can focus on something productive. Just a plug for some mindful meditation in these moments.

Intent has nothing to do with it. He had sex with a minor that's illegal. Unprotected sex at that. He shouldn't have drank so much. He shouldn't have acted like he wanted it. He shouldn't have put himself in this vulnerable position, especially if the girl knew what she was doing. He should have used protection. He should have taken responsibility for himself. You know like they tell women - even girls - to do all the time. If this story is even true... :)

I don't think it's a good idea to be dating in person during coronavirus. Inviting a new woman to his home or being around new people in general is just as dangerous for his son.

I would never date a cop. Don't like the odds. (DV/sexual assault/access to all the guns, personal info). This young woman was followed by a police officer because he thought she was "hot". He looked up her plates on the database and found her on Facebook! Luckily she got him to admit it, took screenshots and posted it. It was at least the second time he's done this to a woman. You don't have to accept that 98% of men cheat. But beware - you absolutely do not know HVM men in your life never cheated nor would attempt. You don't know their activities day in and day out, you don't see their inbox, and - this goes for all humans - you don't know their mastery of deception. Over the years, I've received quite a few inappropriate, unsolicited messages from "HVM" men either married or engaged to MUTUAL friends, who I thought would never cheat. They were mildly flirtatious and…

What a f***** up sentiment. Seriously. She needs help. Also FWIW scrotes who would kill the women in their life are not the type to kill other men especially for any noble causes. They are far, far too fragile and cowardly.

I will never forget I went out on a date with a guy who on his profile said he was 6 ft. I am 5'9 , as I said on my.profile, and we were right at eye level, in fact I think I was a smidge taller in flat sandals. I didn't say anything about it. Near the end of the night he had the nerve to remark that I must be taller than 5'9. HE brought it up! 🤷🏼 I just looked at him and said no dude I know how tall I am. But you apparently don't. Teeheehee. FFS!

Agree with all of it. I've thought about this a lot, and that notion plus the fact that the selection and effort is just so poor, is why I don't ever see myself going back to any dating app. The last time I rectivated / updated my profile on an app, I felt exposed and like a loser. I thought, what the hell am I doing on here again? Why am I, to quote Blanche Dubois, casting my pearls before swine? The pendulum is swinging the other way with OLD. Definitely not just you. It's one of the main reasons I'm not online dating. The selection is more dismal than I've ever seen it. I can't date someone who has no idea how to present himself.

Exactly. What I meant is it's especially pathetic for someone to make a new email address, or new number, to contact someone who has obviously blocked them. So we wouldn't even need a thread for it, cuz we'd be blocking / deleting those messages too.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/04/20 01:26 PM

That hasn't happened to me, but in that case still delete and block right away. That's a person who doesn't respect boundaries, and those are the dangerous LVMs. In theory such a pathetic attempt at contact wouldn't be dissected here.

I just got done listening to a podcast where hosts interviewed an EMS paramedic, undocumented migrant worker, a daughter whose mom is one mild illness away from death, and an entire family with the Coronavirus. It's terrifying. They are so ill, desperate, wracked with guilt that they could have spread it to others. And yet here's Cosmo with that atrocious headline. Cosmo makes it comfortable for society to objectify women. I didn't even read the stupid article.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/04/20 01:02 AM

Really good points from both sides; the one that resonates with me the most is if we are acting in true accordance with FDS, we'd be blocking/deleting these long emails anyway. Perhaps it's best not to give more fodder for male lurkers, nor attention to LVM "authors." Still, I'd love to help translate any bullshit apology letter that makes it way to our beloved sub, no matter what flair it's under. ;)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/04/20 11:51 PM
21

I definitely can relate; I used to have a lot of trouble identifying my boundaries and feelings, because in the moment, I was all about caring for the other person. I took responsibility for their response to me, their well-being, etc. It left no room for introspection...and that was a comfortable, safe place for me, but it wasn't healthy. I was afraid my needs would push them away. I was afraid of my own vulnerability, I was afraid to be "seen" - so caring for others became a way of the control…

💜 Being strong is a response. It's a decision you make every day, sometimes every hour, every minute. Our strength is determined in how we show up for ourselves, and how we control our triggers. Your feelings and emotions are completely valid. It's our response that counts. You are strong right now.

Thank you. Why do we communicate at all if we don't want people to see or hear us? Whenever a woman responds to LVMs audacious texts, she's telling him and the Universe that she has an investment in *his* response. If she cares that he sees it or feels a certain way, she should at least own it. And he's doing the exact same thing. Silence is the only thing that indicates complete disinvestment from an LVM's actions.

Physical attraction is important. Some important distinctions: Women are socialized to look beyond physical attractiveness, or even ignore it altogether, or else they're "shallow." Men are taught to feel entitled to objectively beautiful women as a prize for being a basically decent. In other words, women are conditioned to see the *human* and men are conditioned to see an *award* As a relationship progresses, women are much more likely to overlook their partner's physical ideals if they are sat…

Social media, I also consider his exes, and what they look like, his group of friends, what hobbies do they like to do and what type of woman does that usually attract, etc. Personally I think a man's type is part fantasy and part what makes him feel comfortable, without having to grow or change. But I straight up ask guys, what's your physical type? I ask it early. I usually find that they're truthful bc they think I'm just being superficial or flirty. But I'm collecting data ;)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 09:12 PM

Aw I'm glad! Thanks for posting the email too. That's brave. I'm going to suggest this in a general FDS post, but I think it would be helpful if we could all post some examples of emails/texts we've gotten from our exes, so we can realize just how similar they are. Dudes who cheat and refuse to take accountability are always working from the same script. Long ago in my very first relationship, he cheated on me and sent me a long apology email. I didn't respond. Then months later we were talking …

I used to look at the DOT sub all the time. And all it did was make me think I am at fault for men’s terrible behavior because I didn’t cOmMuNiCaTe in exactly the right way. It’s not as insidious as MGTOW, or red pill, but it’s a lot of sad sacks who blame themselves for a lot of shitty behavior. It’s really hard to stomach.

I wish we'd stop using the term babies, when the vast majority of abortions take place at the tiny embryonic stage, where there is no consciousness or sentience. Later abortions in the 2nd or the extremely rare 3rd trimester are usually for medical complications. Every pregnancy is unique for every woman (and sometimes girls, sadly) and all stages of pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood should be consensual. I don't want to fall in the rabbit hole of debating "good abortions" and "bad abortions"…

Forced pregnancy is not pro-life. Just because you wouldn't have an abortion doesn't mean we force women and girls to stay pregnant against their will. There's a reason some of the most evil LVM in the world are the most vocal pro-lifers. A woman deciding her own fate, what do with her own pregnancy is not systemic, it's personal. Pro-choice women respect the intelligence and agency of women. Forced-birthers ("pro-lifers") simply do not. Please read this: https://www.harpersbazaar.com/culture/po…

Another note, LVM's always come back around when they sense you've moved on. Why? Because LVMs are so insecure, they fear irrelevancy the most. And they want external validation - kibbles, some call it - because deep down they don't even believe in themselves and don't have the fortitude for accountability or change. They have no shame because they don't care about what you think, feel or want. So when this guy inevitably reaches out to you again ignore him. He's not doing it for you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/03/20 05:49 PM

HVM do. LVM do not. There are many more LVM out there than HVM. if you expressed your standards and boundaries and he picked another girl over you he's not right for you and is probably an LVM. Here we vet men to avoid dating LVMs. If he chose another girl consider your vetting complete. You have all the data you need on him.

Because LVM don't care what you want, think or feel . Thus they have no shame. He wants a little "high" in the moment that you'll respond , so he's gonna try for it. Best to ignore him as you said.

With the FDS mindeset, you are the best apple at the top of the tree. Men sense that and often don't want to put in the work of climbing to the top....they're going to get tired, weak and pick the apple at their level. That's ok, because you want someone who is going to make it to the top. You live well at the top. The air is better. Stay at the top and let them to come to you.

Gee, heaven forbid I would want to date a man that's "attractive by my terms." 🙄

"men on fire" refers to their STDs.

It's convenient for paying back friends, just not for dating ;)

Great job standing up for yourself! Venmo is the worst, because guys get to look like a HVM in public, and still get reimbursed. When a man suggests venmo in that situation, he knows why. 🙄

Yea...it feels even worse, because there's a sense of obligation to a person who doesn't deserve it. Dating yourself is one of the most liberating, peaceful feelings and I don't know if I'll ever be able to give it up.

Buying yourself a treat and enjoying your thoughts alone is like dating an LVM anyway, with none of the pickmeisha pitfalls. ;) But seriously, you're awesome.

I've noticed an uptick of very basic dating advice questions from relatively new accounts on this sub lately. Like they've not even glanced at the handbook. It feels off, like they're trying to bait us. Anyway, I'm glad we caught on to this pyscho.

Exactly. If Ben didn't want anyone to know he shouldn't have told you. You did the right thing.

I read on a Blind Gossip site that she paid for her own ring...if so, even more glad she's free.

My only hope is that maybe she came around since 2014, but given that she hasn't scrubbed it from the internet perhaps not.

Signed up for Coffee Meets Bagel. Two weeks of men liking my profile and photos with no initiation...and I would get these annoying push notifications telling me to "message my match!" "here's an icebreaker!" I thought maybe I misunderstood and it was like Bumble, so I Googled it and came across this article. Promptly deleted. No thanks.

I used to volunteer as a rape crisis counselor and a large portion of our training was on how to handle prank/abusive callers. We would have to document them in a special way and we had a huge binder of prior incidents to reference. During my time there, 100% of the bogus calls came from men, surprise, surprise. We had to be careful, because men in theory could be victims too...but very rarely were the ones that called legit (unless they were calling to help a partner or family member). One of t…

As if "wanted to marry her," indicates *any* level sacrifice or loss on his part. First, marriage is much more beneficial to him as we well know. Second, wanting isn't doing.

Wow. Great example of how one marriage to a LVM can have far-reaching impact. He expects his responsibilities to be shouldered not only by his wife, but now by her friends? Now it's her friendships that will suffer. Glad you took a stand. Maybe she'll see the light.

I wonder if this is the same woman who wrote to Dear Wendy. Details are different but similar story. https://dearwendy.com/my-boyfriend-was-accused-of-rape-and-im-afraid-to-ask-him-about-it/#more-874864 Wendy let her have it.
