In Germany when going on dates, checks are separate until marriage. Seriously. Fighting over checks is silly. I will invite for a hike or something outdoors instead of eating out for the first encounters. Why is eating always necessary?

I agree that this is 100% correct. Well compensated independent chicks also don't over dress when going out. No reason to be presumptuous. Ask your date to order salmon and see if they pronounce it correctly.
