How stupid are you now? You're trying to portray yourself as a paragon of intellectualism because you've read a children's fantasy series? I guess I prefer more robust literature, like from Phillip K. Dick or Thomas Pynchon or Adam Smith or Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn or Jean-Jacques Rousseau or John Irving or for fucks sake even John Grisham. I mean I know you didn't just try to high horse me because you read children's books so there must be some alternate explanation for you embarrassing yourself …

Not to bring politics into the sub... I'm obviously a Trump supporter per my username but I've been leaning towards going libertarian for a while.

I'd tell the judge that it's in the best interest of the child for him to pay for the child, and if he says "well it's not my child," then I'd say "that makes two of us."

Do actors and actresses really work harder than the best boy grip on a film? Are they truly so much more talented that they get $10 million to star in a film while crew members get $25k for working the same amount of time? It's market forces - people will specifically pay to see a famous actor in a film while not caring who is on the crew. The flip side is that people continuously care about the lives of these famous actors. If you don't want the gossip, don't seek the fame/huge paycheck. If it'…

The problem is that men and women appreciate accomplishments differently. As a guy, this person you're describing knows multiple languages, is a CS guy, kung fu master, and I'm like damn what a cool dude, I'd like to hang out with him. And he was your bro and helped you out when you were in need (congrats on kicking the dope btw). But for a woman he's just her meal ticket, and I'm sure he committed some kind of "microaggression" against her like not being able to read her mind when she was upset…

Not a fan of quotas. Let the races and genders pick their own jobs and don't worry about what the percentages are. Ensure economic opportunity and social mobility exist, but leave the social engineering at home.

I fully, wholeheartedly believe that if we legalized prostitution and ended the war on drugs we would dramatically improve quality of life in the US.

Holy shit I could only get 2 and a half minutes in before I couldn't take anymore... that guy is such a chill dude and she is beyond a pain in the ass. Like dude, just get escorts or something if you want a release, not paying $20k down for a wedding dress and her psycho ass breaking phones and keying your car...

7 Reasons article from HuffPost The 7 reasons: She can roll with the punches She's well rounded She's independent She loves like no other Single moms are sexy She knows what she wants She's playing for keeps In no way do I endorse any of these reasons, just being thorough for the benefit of the sub. Please don't shoot the messenger :)

Damn what a sad story. $8k a month in spousal/child support! I would have been despondent too... Good on the friend at the funeral though. At his memorial service, his best friend gave the eulogy and said, in part, that family courts and spousal support in particular “creates an artificial right to another person’s successes.”

The entire article reads as coming from a histrionic woman worried about the loss of her next meal ticket. The section on MRAs putting up posters asserting that regretting a one night stand does not mean it was not consensual, and the author seemingly denigrating that position as unreasonable... It resonated with me as a few years ago when I was at a (public) university we had mandatory sexual assault training. It was one of those modules where you had to watch (unskippable) videos and read stup…

I also don't get the deception part. While I have no personal interest in casual sex (there are always strings attached and drama) I have no problem with PUAs and Chads, and fully support them having meaningless one night stands with as many women as possible. Just as long as they don't marry them and set themselves up for a lifetime of alimony payments and child support for kids she won't let them see.

Men say the gap between what women say and what they do has never been wider. Men are constantly told they should be delicate, sensitive fellow travelers on the feminist path. But the same women who say they want a nice, unthreatening boyfriend go home and swoon over simple-minded, giant-chested, testosterone-saturated hunks in Game of Thrones. Men know this, and, for some, this giant inconsistency makes the whole game look too much like hard work. Why bother trying to work out what a woman want…

In case you don't want to give Oxygen a pageview (edit: forgot links are autoarchived here), the seven listed are: Gamergate The Alt Right New Atheists MRAs Red Pill MGTOW PUAs The blurb for MGTOW is: What do men do when they feel so defeated by feminism that they'll never find a reasoanable date? They swear off women completely, apparently. Men Going Their Own Way is a group of straight dudes who aspire to live entirely without women in their lives (unless they are hiring or deceiving them for …

Divorces him within weeks? The article says they were married in 1996 (then says 1998) and then separated in 2006. The 65/35 split is asinine though.

The problem with the political system is you have to choose between a socialist nanny state or a corporate police state, both of which strongly desire to keep men in perpetual servitude to women through child support, alimony, lack of due process in "sexual assault" cases, etc. I saw my fair share of pornography as a youngster (in my 30s so when I was a minor the internet was still new to the porn scene) and it didn't turn me into a rapist or assaulter... but the availability and convenience of …

I don't have any opinion one way or another on Doctor Who (never watched it really) but it makes me cringe when women want James Bond, who is very explicitly written as male.
