Many male victims of female sexual assault are socialized not to see themselves as victims but as victors. That probably contributes to serious underreporting.
I'm not onboard with men proving they can be victims too. Something about being masculine means not being a victim. It means suffering in silence. It means turning your pain into rage and using it for something productive, or just letting it go because it doesn't matter. Each man gets to decide what being a man means for him. For me it means not going on social media and complaining about how I've been treated by others.
To be honest, I get major props just for showing up. It pisses me off to no end how people treat a dad out with kids as if he's a fucking messiah or some shit. Yes, I like taking my kids to the zoo. No, I'm not a saint.
You aren't being creative. The maternity benefit is flagged as a health recovery benefit. Women after having a baby need time to recover physically, they get up to 12 weeks paid(2 per year they've been at the company). Men can't really claim that benefit.
Plumbers, electricians, painters, framers or finish carpenters make a lot more then that where I live. Maybe not as an apprentice though, if that's what you meant.
My company recently extended 2 weeks of paid paternity leave. Just in time for my twins to be born. Sadly, it didn't apply twice! But still grateful. Most men get 0 paid days for that.
I don't like men playing the victim card. Its um, unmanly. And over a GD sign? Really? Do you have a penis or not? Edit: mostly joking, but the sentiment behind the comment is real.
