So, Truth: ALEC apparently has an annual budget of about 7 mil and a full-time staff of 27. Not sure how thats enough money and manpower to single-handedly manipulate approximate 2000 legislators in over 50 states, but whatever. Corrections Corporation of America's PAC seems to have started in 2002 (can't find info before then) and never had gross contributions of over half a mil. Not sure if you actually read my post. Nevertheless, I'll try to respond point-by-point. How does prison privatization lead to an increase in incarceration? Hmm, do you think people who profit from cheaper labor want to lobby for harsher sentencing? The end run of your point is that people in prisons are slaves because people who profit from incarcerated labor lobby for extended sentences. I'm aware of this. Hence the line The less men there are in prisons, the more young men that grow up in single-parent, single-income homes, so I'm on-board with wanting non-violent offenders out of the prison system. I'm unsure as to how the restorative justice link is related to my post.

It costs roughly 20k to house feed and clothe an inmate per year. The taxpayer pays for this, presumably because its a worthwhile expense in the name of Justice. Is it wrong to want to recoup some of that value in the form of labor demanded from inmates? The link mentions how the relationship between the characters in 'How to Train Your Dragon' involved a woman abusing a boy, and Hollywood's portrayal of it being a match made in heaven. Then it asks if the situation would be so cute with the roles reversed. Are you saying having sex with a condom is just as good as sex without a condom, because in my opinion they don't even compare... This is probably the crux of the issue.
