My husband and I weren’t much interested in legally contracted marriage for the first couple years of our relationship, because we felt the same way as you, u/DrinkItInMan11. We even started trying for a baby before ever thinking about it, and I was around 4 months pregnant on our impromptu wedding day. Why did we do it? I like being financially dependent on my husband; he takes good care of our family. I like when he takes charge of things, and I actively encourage him to do so. It is sexually attractive to me. He cares about what I want and think and always considers me in the decision making, and I trust that he knows and will do what’s best for us. People are free to wear the pants or be submissive, whichever serves them best in their relationships. (At least in westernized places.) Isn’t that great?

Many of them wanted me to commit to them… I am married now to a man I have been with for over 6 years, though.

I’d estimate about half of all men literally just do not care about n count. And I would know; I’ve been through about 40 of em

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
